Wood Chop

This guy a great! He runs a small operation that I have visited in the past to buy trunk loads of wood for my fireplace, and he was always pleasant to me. The last time I stopped in, I asked him if I could purchase a half-cord of wood, and he was ready to comply. It did take him about a week to get me some seasoned wood from his source in the country, but he delivered it promptly the following week. As a matter of fact, I called him on my way home that evening to let him know I was close to my house, and he beat me there! The wood that he delivered to me was oak, and well-seasoned. Those of you who enjoy a crackling fire know what a miserable experience it is to try to get a fire to burn with ?wet? wood, and much to Ron?s credit, he absolutely insisted that a wait for the ?better? wood from the country, rather than take unseasoned wood from the location on Pinemont. Thank you, Ron! I don?t know much about wood, I just know that I like a nice fire in the fireplace, and Ron did not take advantage of my ignorance. When he delivered the firewood to my house, he made sure that I understood that some of the wood would have to season over the summer and that it wasn?t ready to be burned just yet (we had agreed to this earlier). He made sure that I could recognize the seasoned vs. unseasoned wood, and patiently answered my questions. Finally, what I really like about the wood that he delivered, other than it burns quite well, was the size of the pieces of wood. They are small enough not to break my back when I carry in an armload from the woodpile, but not so small that I?m constantly having to feed the fire. I received a nice assortment of small to medium sized pieces of wood; it just makes the whole experience that much more pleasant. Oh, I forgot to mention that his prices are reasonable, as well, but service, quality and a great attitude are what prompted me to write this review?I?ll definitely be buying my wood from the Wood Chop from now on!
