Work was completed in about 1.5 hours. Workman came on time and left the areas clean and neat. He was cordial and provided a written estimate for replacing a water heater which I may have done in the near future. I was pleased with the installation and work done on both toilets.
Description of Work: Installed a one-piece toilet (and removed the old toilet). Replaced the water stop valve & water supply line on another toilet.

There was a water leak in the front yard. The service technician told me I needed a $5000 new water line without really checking anything out. When my husband showed up he completely changed his story. It turned out to be a $200 sprinkler problem. This guy was completely dishonest. Unbelievable. I have given this company several changes over the 14 years I have lived in my neighborhood. They are always considerably higher than other companies but this guy took the cake. Total fraud.
Description of Work: He came to check out a water leak in the front yard. After telling me I needed a $5000 new water line he left charging me $59;95 for the service call. My sprinkler guy fixed the problem in about an hour.

The bad think about this plumbing service is that they will not quote you. Once they show up with much delay, for simply emptying the J tube under the kitchen sink, rotating the disposal from underneath back and forth a couple times, and replacing a washer they charged an insane amount of $350. The way they get you is that after the job has been done or they're present in wich case you will still have to pay a $60 visit fee, they bring out their prices. I think their way of doing business is not ethical, and will not recommend nor use them again.

I am the manager of a condominium complex. One of the owners had a downstairs sink that was backed up and contacted village plumbing. I was then contacted because village plumbing said there was a problem with the toilet drain line (which falls under the condo responsibility). The technicians had removed the downstairs toilet and put a camera into the line and said they had discovered what appeared to be a completely broken line. We were told that the line would have to be repaired by removing the floor in the bathroom and replacing it to the main common line. This seemed possible as we had previously had a similar situation in another condo. They said they would have someone contact us with a quote for this work. They then left without doing any further investigation. Shortly after they left another owner came out and stated his downstairs toilet and sinks were not draining either. At this point I contacted Roto-Rooter who we use for all of our building plumbing issues. Denton S. came out immediately to give us a second opinion on the problem. Denton immediately discovered that the main line leading to the city sewer was completely backed up when he checked an outside clean out. He then ran a camera toward the city line and the problem seemed to be in the city sewer. Denton opened the main city manhole cover nearest our building and the entire casing was full of sewage to overflowing. I called the city and we were told that they would be out within 72 hours! By this point we had sewage flooding out of the clean out as the city sewer continued to back up into our building. At this point Denton could have easily declared the whole thing not his problem but he felt bad leaving us in such a terrible situation. I will give the details of what he did to rectify the situation in my review of Roto-Rooter but for now I'll just say that 4 hours later we had working plumbing again and Denton S. is officially our building hero. Roto-Rooter charged us less than what Village charged us for simply pulling a toilet and telling us we needed 5k+ worth of excavation done. This is not our first poor experience with village plumbing and we have now notified all of our owners not to use them again. I do want to mention that the two village employees who came out were very friendly and professional. They just had no idea what the problem was and seemed more interested in selling service contracts than finding out what was actually wrong.
Description of Work: Removed a toilet to snake a drain which appeared to be blocked. Ran snake 3 feet into drain and said they hit mud. Then ran a camera 3 feet into toilet line and said that the pipe was broken and we would need to repair it and there was no way of cleaning the line. They then reinstalled the toilet and tried to sell us a service contract and then left. About 40 mi tues total time on site.

I bought a townhome in 12 that was built in 08. I'm glad I found Village Plumbing last year as I have had a myriad of plumbing issues because of inferior materials and workmanship during the construction of my home. So, am I happy to have had Village out here numerous times in 13? No. But their work is excellent and I have confidence in the team there. Today's plumber, David Robbins, is a great guy to request. He will inspect and review all the issues at your home. Also, having a plumbing maintenance agreement saves me $ on calls and puts me in the front of the line for appointments. Village Plumbing isn't cheap, but nothing in metro Houston is inexpensive. So the contract helps a bit.
Description of Work: Checked for leaks both outside and inside my home. Sold me a renewal of my plumbing maintenance agreement.

I'm providing this review to give an example of Village's outstanding response to a problem we had. I want to start by saying that in 20 years of using Village for all our plumbing, we've been very satisfied with them and never had a problem like this one. Even though getting to resolution was frustrating as described below, we were extremely pleased in the end. We had a Village plumber out in December to re-do a drain repair that a previous Village plumber had made the year before. From the previous work we thought it would be a simple fix, like it was the year before. We weren't satisfied with the plumber's work and in fact, he caused a break that was going to require several hundred dollars to repair. I called the company to complain and ask for a resolution. I ran into some problems getting a reply from someone in a position to make a decision, although everyone I talked to was unfailingly polite. Messages left with details resulted in no return call; follow up calls either netted me a new person I had to start all over with, or the news that the person I was calling had left early that day. After several days my frustration reached a breaking point, and I luckily connected with Tanya, one of the customer service managers. Tanya restored my faith in the company--she got right to the point, asking what resolution I wanted and how they could remedy the situation and keep my business. Within just 15 minutes on a Friday evening, we had agreed on a complete replacement of the damage with higher quality pipe, at the much lower price the original simple repair was quoted for, Tanya had gotten an ok on this, and we had agreed on the date for the repair. The next business day, a master plumber came, explained to my husband everything he was going to do, made the repair, and showed my husband everything he had done. He was prompt, fast, clean and the repair solved our problems. Although I was frustrated by the length of the complaint process, I am completely pleased by the resolution. Village has re-earned my business. Take-away tips: --If you're not happy, do press the issue up the chain. They are responsive. --If you don't get a call in the time frame promised, or a reasonable time thereafter, follow up immediately. --Aks for Tanya. She's the kind of problem solver every business should have.

They came out Sarturday the 19th of October and diagnosed the problem. The existing icemaker was broken and the unit needed to be replaced. They sey me up for a 8:00am appointment for today Thursday the 24th of October. At about 8:30 I called them as nobody had arrived at my house. They said the repairmen would be there about 9:15 as he needed to go pick up the part. In my world they should not have made the appointment at 8:00 if they were not going to be there for at least another hour. They didn't even let me know and I had to call in late for work as a result of this. Paul Feldman

Developed a leak in 1 AC condensate line and requested an estimate on replacement on water heater. Waited for arrival of technician for 2 hours as there was high demand on that particular day. Technician was very professional cleaned drainage lines, provided estimate on replacement for 1 AC leaking Condensate line. Returned the next day to replace line and found that second condensate line was in need of replacement as well. The replacement of the condensate lines was very well done. In the meantime second technician provided quotation for replacement of hot water heater, work was done professionally and in a timely manner. Given the urgent nature of the repairs we did not get comparative quotes looking back at the work done the price seems high to us.

Appointment scheduled for 1-6:00 pm. I called to say I would be gone between 3 to 4:00. They arrive at that time. They were nice enough to reschedule and arrived about 5:00. They looked at job but did nothing (partly my fault). Reschedule for 8:00 am sharp next day. Received call they would be late (lame excuse given). Waited but they did not show. Went by office to complain. Talked to helpful man, and returned to property to meet technician. We discussed job, but I had to leave quickly for appointment. I returned later to discover nothing was done. Went back to office to hear lame excuse. I have delt with company for 25 years, but no more. Something has happened. They do not carry old parts on the trucks. If you want a simple job done, this is not the company. Instead of doing work they give quotes.

Not great service, primarily because: - the service provider offered no alternative but 1 brand of furnace, online searching showed the brand was not the most reliable - the service provider did not detail the problem with the units, we had to ask questions repeatedly to figure out exactly what the problems were - the service provider spent about 4 hours on the estimate when it should have taken an hour - the service provider gave us a quote that ended up being twice the cost of a competitor (for an inferior furnace than the competitor was suggesting) - the service provider tried to get us to buy the new furnace and ac unit immediately rather than give us time to do some research based on his estimate - the service provider tried to sell us an additional a/c unit (condenser, coils) where the competitor told us the current one would probably last another few years In summary, we felt the company was trying to fleece us rather than provide a service.

Outrageously overpriced! They overcharged by about 80% of what the price should have been. I needed a plumber to fix a leak under my kitchen sink so I researched local plumbers with the BBB and reviews on the web. I settled on Village Plumbing to do the work. It turned out my garbage disposal was corroded and had to be replaced. The plumber quoted me a price of $470 to install the same model. I looked up the cost of the disposal online and found it for $80 with 2 day delivery included. I did a little negotiating with the plumber's boss on the phone and got the price for the installation down to $398. I did more research after I agreed to the installation and found that the average price for installation of this particular disposal, based on average labor costs for plumbers in Houston should have been about $220. I guess I learned my lesson on doing more research beforehand. I would never use this company again and would not recommend it to anyone. Stay away!

I bought my water heater from Village Plumbing 7 years ago. On Good Friday of 2013 I had a lukewarm shower so relit the pilot light. Saturday morning, I did not have even lukewarm water and couldn't get the pilot to stay lit. I called Village, they sent someone out within an hour. Will determined that the gas regulator valve was the problem, unfortunately they didn't stock the part but he would find one for me. On Monday, he called to say he'd found the part and could come out Tuesday afternoon to replace it. He arrived promptly and replaced the valve. He said if it went out again, the burner assembly would need to be replaced - at no additional cost to me. Wednesday, back to lukewarm water and the burner would not stay lit. I called Village again and Wednesday afternoon Jason came out with a new burner which unfortunately was not the correct one. He said he would get one for me and be back on Thursday. On Thursday afternoon he came out and replaced the burner and I'm back to having reliable hot water. I have had Village do work for me before and am always impressed with them. They are prompt, clean up after themselves, friendly and go the extra mile. My only complaint is that they are a little on the high side, but I've gone with cheaper plumbing services and not been happy with the mess they have left behind. I recommend Village to all of my friends.

I have worked now with 3 different Village plumbers. I recommend their team. I also find their dispatch and managers responsive to my calls. I had to have a few different visits to get everything working absolutely right and Village was professional and always worked with my busy schedule. Having a service/maintenance agreement is a great way to go if you think you'll need to tackle a bunch of plumbing things (or appliance repair - they also do this work) in a particular year. When we first moved here last March another company was the one we had do some initial fixes per the closing agreement with the home's seller. There was nothing about that experience that made me want to consider them again. However, I do feel loyal to Village now as they have taken great care with my home and helped me fix a bunch of things.
Description of Work: Have had a number of plumbing issues resolved and repaired by Village since January. Yes, the price tag is steep, even having a service agreement, but I believe their pricing is in line with others listed in Angie's List as I called around a bit to check. Had hot water tank replaced and venting pipe improved on roof of my townhome. Have had water shutoff valves installed on outdoor summer kitchen sink. Had new garbage disposal installed. Had new Delta cartridge installed in guest room shower that would only spit out boiling hot water prior to fix. Had drains cleaned and snaked so water flows fast.

We bought a house with a LG gas range and cooktop last March. Whenever I used oven I smelled gas at the time I turned it on. Also cooking times were off for baking and roasting, etc. Had another company out here in June that stuck a sensor in oven and said, and quot;oh it's fineand quot;, but it wasn't. Village's Javier came out Jan 8th to look at it. He recommended a new ignitor and sensor. He cautioned me that LG replacement parts were pricey. Unfortunately, the seller of the house didn't leave me with a warranty or invoice to use with LG. Anyhow, it took several weeks for the parts (LG only has 1 distributor nationwide). But Village got the parts to me as soon as they could - and Javier returned Feb 1 to install these. I cooked and baked all weekend and so far, so good. No smell of gas when turning oven on - and temp held steady for long periods of cooking. I am hopeful all is fixed.

David cleaned out the pipes in the kitchen and bath and after almost 2 years in my house, for the very first time, I had water pressure like I'd never had before. The climbing water biill turned out to be a result of two leaky toilets (one in the main house and another in the garage unit). The leaks were so quiet that the problem simply wasn't evident. Long story short, my water bill the next month was back down to about $75 per month - and has since stayed that way - and to date, my water pressure remains AMAZING. While I'll change out the plumbing at some future point, it is no longer a priority, thanks to David. I remain most grateful to him. He was scrupulously honest, imminently qualified, and just all-around decent. I couldn't be more pleased. My experience with Village Plumbing was so great that when I needed an appliance repair due to a gas leak on one of the gas stoves in one of the garage units, I called Village back. Again, i was not disappointed. I also had my AC/Heating checked by Village (Louis Velasquez) and, again, was beyond impressed with Louis's professionalism and honesty. Even the staff at Village are phenomenal. I now have a service contract with Village because they have consistently come through and have consummate professionals working for them. In total, I've paid out approximately $1,000 for the plumbing, the appliance repair, AC/heating check as well as the service contract. I couldn't recommend Village more highly. THANK YOU, Village Plumbing!
Description of Work: I'd found Village Plumbing on Angie's List but wound up calling them primarily because a colleague had used them for some plumbing services and was extremely pleased. I initially called Village Plumbing because of long-standing, ongoing plumbing issues; one of the significant negatives of having purchased a 1938 house with galvenized plumbing. Over the last year or so, I've had multiple plumbing companies come out; all advising that the only fix was to update and replumb my 1,600 sf, 2 beds/1 bath house as well as the two grage units (1 bed/1 bath units, 400 sf each). Estimates for replumbing using pvc/cpvc ranged from a high of $53k ($37k for the house, $16k for the garage units) from John Moore Plumbing to a low of approximately $23k ($14k for the house and $9k for the units) from Chavez Plumbing. Home Depot even had their contractor, Delta Plumbing, come out who provided an estimate of approximately $250 per hot or cold water connection. I was ready to proceed with Delta Plumbing but despite significant efforts by Home Depot, Delta Plumbing couldn't seem to get their act together to actually do the work. After 6-months of phone calls and several additional plumbing assessments at Delta's request, I finally gave up and moved on. Village Plumbing was worth the wait. I specifically requested David Ibarra - as suggested by my afore-referenced colleague - and couldn't have been more pleased. David patiently listened to the various plumbing problems I was experiencing. He even, most kindly, looked at my water bill that over the previous 6 or so months, had steadily increased from about $75 per month to over $200 per month. David suggested that while ultimately replumbing might be in order, there were some simple things that he could likely do that would make a difference. He was right!
