Uptown Appliance Repair was prompt, responsive and knowledgeable in their service, but I wish I had read the Angie's List reviews a bit more closely when selecting them. Do so and you'll notice lots of people complaining about excessive costs, fees higher than estimated, etc. That's just what happened to me: the initial estimate was vague and seemed high, and then the final charge was even higher! Labor was over $200 for less than an hour's job, and the part needed was also significantly more than quoted (and much more than it appears to be at online supply sites). Bobby addressed some of my concerns when I talked to him on the phone, but my experience with Uptown Appliance Repair remains the first time I've been left unsatisfied by a highly regarded Angie's List contractor. I'll look elsewhere in the future.

It went well. Repair was done quickly and the fridge works perfectly again. We had a bit of a misunderstanding about the price of the service (not clear enough up front on what the cost was going to be) but I am quite happy with their responsiveness and it all was addressed to my satisfaction. They seem like a relatively new business that is looking to grow and they really are trying to do the right thing for their customers.

Overall a great experience. Robert was punctual and would call approximately 45 minutes before arrival. He and a worker quickly came and assessed the problems we were having and gave us an estimate for repairs. When the parts arrived a few days later, they made another appointment and were once again prompt. The repairs were made quickly with no mess at all. Robert called a few days after the repairs to check up and make sure everything was working and I mentioned some condensation that I had seen in the refrigerator and he made another appointment the next day to come back out and check out the situation. He re-assessed the gasket installation and made a few minor tweaks that he thought would solve the problem. He called back about a week later and I mentioned that the condensation was reduced but not eliminated so he came back out to check again and decided that they would re-install a new gasket to make sure the condensation was completely eliminated. He was determined to make sure we were completely satisfied and he never charged for any of the follow up visits. I would use them again for every appliance.

My refrigerator stopped working on a Wednesday evening. I called Uptown Appliance Thursday, and made an appointment for 8 AM Friday morning. Robert and his technician arrived promptly, and quickly diagnosed the problem as faulty electrical relays on one of the circuit boards. Robert told me that the circuit board in question was not being made anymore by KitchenAid, and my only recourse was to have it repaired. Unfortunately, the repair cost was about $1,300. When the refrigerator first stopped working, I did some internet research and found that if a faulty circuit board repair was in my future, it would be costly. Robert took the faulty circuit board with him and told me he expected to have it repaired and ready to re-install by the middle of the following week. Naturally, I was surprised when he called Monday and told me the repaired board was ready. We arranged for him to come to my house around 5:30 PM that same day to re-install the circuit board. Again, Robert called when he was on his way and arrived promptly at the previously indicated time to re-install the board. After verifying that everything was running properly, Robert reminded me that the warranty for the repair was two years parts and labor. Robert Fierro did everything he promised, only quicker. It was nice for a change for a repairman to under-promise and over-deliver. I would strongly recommend Uptown Appliance Repair (Town and Country location) to anyone with an appliance problem.

Bobby fixed our ice maker and cleaned it. He did a great job and we will use them again. He is very polite and very customer oriented. Great job!

Only concern was that the cost seemed high

This is the second time they came to fix my ice maker. When asking them what a new one cost they told me $1,200.00 USD and it would not be much to fix mine (for the second time). It is seven years old. So they fixed it where it makes ice about a cup per two hours..... and the cost was just shy of $600.00 USD. I cannot say I will use them nor recommend them to fix anything as they cost more than what they estimate and then it did not work as good as before.

Bobby is very professional and his technician did a great job helping me with my stove.
