Response from Universal Home Experts
Wow I want to thank this member for giving us the opportunity to make her electrical repair. I am glad you thought we did a good job. I am sure sorry that someone told you we overcharged you. When this member called us back in July of 2011, a tree had fallen and knocked down her electrical service and she had no power. Well we got out there that night within about 2 hours after she called us and within 24 hours we had her power fully restored. Now, I know there are a lot of Electricians out there and some of them know what they are doing and some of them don't have a clue on how to do anything right when it comes to running a business. They are awesome at bending pipe and pulling wire but ask them: whats the difference between a margin and a mark up? Smoke will start pouring out of their ears. I understand that when you compare companies it makes sense to use something logical like price. Do you know that even though this member has decided she is now upset with us because some jealous electrician told her he would have charged her less than us she still has a ten year warranty with us! Well, we have been in business since 1992. That's 22 years. 50% of all business FAIL in the first year and 80% FAIL within 3 years. Do you know what the number one reason is? Poor management and pricing for their service. All home service electricians have the same exact overhead. We just know to include all of it so that your service experience is top notch. Do you know that all electricians still want to put the same amount of money into their pocket as we do? It's true. So how do they make up the difference? It is usually cheaper parts and lower wages. There are companies out there right now that do not have proper insurance and do not pay payroll taxes on their employees. i know because one of their employees just applied for a job and that was the reason he gave for looking for a new job! You the homeowner are liable for injuries if the company working on your property does not have workers compensation insurance!!!!! We love working for Angie's List members because you are so educated, make well informed decisions and appreciate our effort to educate about your electrical system. Please don't fall victim to the old saying: The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.
