Very thorough. A multi-day project that was started and finished on time. Very professional.

The work went fine. They were a good company. They were efficient and on time. I thought their prices were reasonable.

I am remodeling my bathroom, and needed a electrical outlet and a cable jack moved about three feet to the left so that the wall could be demolished. The electrician analyzed the situation, gave me two (up-front) pricing options (based upon what services he would actually have to perform). He was very professional, came on time, wore shoe covers in my home, explained every step, and completed within his estimated time frame. The completed job was also neat. The price was a little high (I thought), but the work is warrantied and the entire experience was more than worth it. I especially appreciated that the prices were set (and available to see) before he set foot into my home.

Very well. It took some time to trouble shoot the cause of several plugs not working. The electrician explained that it would take time before the trouble shooting started and warned me that the problem could be costly to fix, up to $2,400, depending on the problem. In the end, the problem was found and repaired.

The young man was so nice and did such a good job. He was very informative and helpful. He didn't treat me like I was a dodo bird. He traced down the problem and did a good job. I appreciated his attitude. I was very pleased.

I called Universal one afternoon. Richard came out the next morning. He was very courteous and professional. Did an initial assessment and gave me a quote. Worked for almost two hours to find the problem. Fixed it and price was as quoted. Richard was excellent! Very nice job and I will call Universal in the future for any electrical issue.

They were good but expensive. I had another electrician that was more reasonable. The job went good but I didn?t like the bill. They cleaned up well and he told me upfront what it would cost. He tried to convince me that it was a reasonable expense. They showed up when they said they would and they were professional. They knew what needed to be done and how to do it.

He was professional, courteous, went over cost up front and then did the work in a very timely manner. I was very satisfied with his work. He even replaced a bulb in my stairway. I would highly recommend this company.

Of the two long commercial-looking overhead lights in our kitchen, one began to omit an electrical burning smell on Saturday, June 20. I found Universal Wiring's number on Angie's List and scheduled an appointment for Wednesday, June 24. In the meantime, we taped down the kitchen light switch so the kids wouldn't use it. Will called me when he was about 25 minutes from our home, at which time I left work to meet him. Upon inspection, Will found that the light that gave off the electrical burning smell had indeed started to melt wires and was oozing stuff from the inside; a very dangerous situation. Had this occurred when we weren't home, the light fixture could easily have caused a house fire. For quite some time, we've wanted to get rid of the unsightly overhead lights and replace them with recessed lights, so I asked Will if he had any with him. He did, so we had him remove the old fixtures and replace them with new recessed lights, which we absolutely LOVE. We also had Will check our back door security light, which had not been functioning correctly for quite some time. Again, he had the necessary fixture in his truck and was able to replace it for us on the spot. Our last issue was a light switch in the garage which would sometimes turn on the overhead light and sometimes would not (the result of a faulty switch). Will to the rescue once more. He had the necessary part in his truck and replaced it in no time. Will also performed a diagnostic check on our electrical box outside and informed us of a couple of issues we may need to address in the future. He was very courteous and personable. I graded the company with a "D" on price simply because I paid $315 per recessed light (for the part and installation) and later found the same light at Home Depot for $70; $245 for labor seems a bit high to me. Conversely, you can't put a price on safety. We do feel safer now that our electrical box has been thoroughly inspected and faulty lights replaced. We do plan to have Will return to work on our electrical box and install many more recessed lights in our home (although next time I will buy the lights myself from Home Depot). Will was very professional, cleaned up after himself, and hauled off our old fixtures. We would highly recommend this company and this technician to anyone looking for thorough, professional electrical work. However, if you're looking for a cost effective approach you may want to ask them if it would be cheaper for you to buy the parts yourself and just have them install it.

My husband contacted Universal Wiring after I noticed a burning smell and smoke coming from two outlets. In addition to these repairs we also wanted some additional outlets installed and some wire run to install some exterior safety lighting around the the house. These are all pretty basic requests and Universal Wiring did a great job on each. But what stands out in our mind is how hassle-free and professionally the entire process was completed. The woman who answered our first call listened to our issues and scheduled an appointment for the next day. Eric, the technician, called about 15 mins before arrival - like she said he would - and initially performed a consultative role, telling us what would work at what wouldn't based on our needs. He priced each item out on the estimate so we knew exactly how much everything cost and was open to us providing the external fixtures so to save money in that area. When Eric realized the brackets he was planning to install on the exterior of our house did not match the siding, he went and got some that did match - all at his suggestion and at no additional cost to us. My husband would have been fine with the other ones but I very much appreciate that Eric took a second and thought of our house as if it was his (and/or mine, as I would not have been happy with either unmatching brackets or my husband). In summary, the work was done quickly and, as far as we can tell, to very high standards. Customer service exceeded expectations. Eric was on time, courteous and helpful with suggestions. And most importantly, without us having to ask, he did all the things we would want any contractor, repairman, electrician, plumper, etc. to do as part of creating an estimate. Our experience with Universal Wiring was first class. We highly recommend them!

They were punctual and very friendly. Their price was fair as well. They also did good follow up and came over to rectify minor problems. My overall experience with them was good.

When I called to schedule an appointment the rep was very curteous willing to work with my schedule. The electrician was on time, professional and explained the problem in layman terms. I will definately use them for future electrical projects-- ie whole house surge protection, new pot lights and breaker box upgrade. The final price was a little higher than expected, but the electrician did a good job. I've had two other companies come out in the last three years and neither was able to reslove the problem.

Eric Sut with Universal did the work. His work was meticulous, and he clearly labeled each breaker. Additionally, he followed up twice to insure if there were any problems. He removed all scraps and left a clean work area.

Called Universal on 4/24 (friday) to ask for estimate. Will arrived on 4/27 (monday) morning and was very thorough in his estimate. Called on 4/29 and they worked with us to schedule the work on a date when someone could be home (because of 2 working parents). Work began at 8:30a on 5/11 and was completed by 4:30p on 5/12. The workers were careful of our home and our things. They put down tarps and cleaned up after themselves. They were very thorough and asked questions before making decisions on where to put outlets. Many reviews of Universal consider them to be a high cost provider. I do not think their pricing was too high. They performed high quality, complete work and I think the cost for the results and their level of effort was appropriate.

The prices were provided before the work began. As questions came up during the work, they were asked. Very professional. Answered questions about future work efforts. I would recommend them to anyone.

I thought that their prices were reasonable. The employees who came out to do the job were all very presentable and clean. They even put booties on to come into my home. i thought that was very nice. They made sure to clean up after themselves. The whole job took about two days. I thought that they did a very good job.

Great. Eric arrived on time, is always friendly and professional. Switched out two exterior lights and two bathroom light fixtures.

Went well, everything was taken care of in one visit. It was just very expensive.

Called for appointment on Monday and spoke to Nick in the office who was very helpful and worked with me to schedule an appointment on Wed when I would be home. I asked for Eric who has done other work for us. Eric called shortly before coming at the scheduled time, and came on time with an assistant. They put on booties over their shoes and were very neat throughout the entire job. They did the job very professionally and explained everything to us. They cleaned up nicely and were very polite and courteously. I would definitely want Eric to come for any other jobs we have and would recommend him to friends. Light fixture looks and good and everything works very well.

I thought long and hard before writing this review. The work was done in a timely manner. The electrician was friendly and competent. They were extremely professional and did great work. There was only one problem. I felt that their pricing was outrageously expensive. I know that they say that you get what you pay for, but these guys take that to a whole new level. Their "sales presentation" book with fixed prices for specific job tasks, formalizes their pricing and subtlety presents the customer with little choice. That book sort of comes across as "take it or leave it", even though most jobs do not become that complicated, and that degree of expense is not justified. They clearly do not offer good value for the money. I may not be a certified electrician, but my work experience has given me the skills and knowledge to understand what a electrical job entails. This company is just too expensive. As an example, their electrician quoted me $1000.00 for replacing the breakers in my breaker box. I was able to do the work myself for slightly over $100.00.

They were excellent, the price was to the penny They were very very good. Also very professional, took their time to get it done right. They charge by the job and guarantee their work.

It was fantastic! He came on a Saturday evening, did the work in the dark. It only took an hour and we had power. We were out of power for 3 hours total.
