When the first time I contacted this company via email, to speaking with Shawn to advise him what the issue was, to Reuben doing the actual work this was a great experience. This company is WONDERFUL! Not only did Shawn set up the appointment when it worked for me, not them, but he called the day before to confirm, he called the day of the appointment to advise me the time frame Reuben was running as I was the last appointment of the day be also called after the work was done to make sure I was satisfied. When Reuben arrived he put on special shoe coverings, asked questions and listened to my answers and concerns. He also kept asking "did I have any questions for him"! All of this I did not receive from the other company I had come before Universal Home Experts. Reuben found the problem with my door bell wiring within 10 minutes of checking in the attic and had the issue fixed in 30 minutes. He also took the time and checked other wiring issues I had had concerns with and quoted these items per my request. I will be having Universal do this work and I will be requesting for Reuben to do it. Great Customer Service as well as workmanship. I have found my new electrical company! I highly recommend this company and will be telling my family and friends about them.

That turned out well. They came back last year in 2013 to do an inspection and we even had them install a new AC unit for us this year. We like the warranty and the benefits that it offers.

Rueben arrived on time. He was very professional and took the time and explained what needed repair and why. He fixed all of the issues and checked out the attic to be sure there were no wiring problems. Although this could be considered a lot of money I don't feel it was out of line with any other company, and now I can feel safe and not have to worry about possible fire hazards. I did happen to know that most of these repairs were needed as they were stated in an inspection report prior to me purchasing this home. I would not hesitate to hire them again, and for my experience with the services Rueben performed he is a top notch guy that knows how to communicate well with the customer and in my opinion that means a lot.

They arrived in time. They called the day before as a reminder and also called when they start the trip to my place. They are polite and professional.

Ryan was exceptional. They actually were able to come out the same day I called, which is unheard of in this business. They called me when the repairman was 30 minutes away. Great guy and good organization.

They arrived on time and evaluated the problem. The cost was higher than I anticipated paying but I probably got my money's worth. They started work and completed the project that day.

The inspector was prompt, professional, and listened to everything I had to say before beginning. Before leaving he checked over my entire home system including the panels in the backyard and even offered suggestions for things I may want to look out for in the future. I would not hesitate to use this company again.

I chose Universal because they had been referenced as having special training for aluminum wiring techniques in the past on some other internet sites, and I thought they would be up to date on the latest approach of using Alumiconn connectors. When Gilbert came out he understood exactly what the issues were, and that I wanted to make sure whatever problems were found would be corrected with the best current practice for aluminum wiring. He gave me a quote for reviewing and reworking the entire house, which unfortunately was way too expensive for me at this time. Since I was having problems currently with the upstairs, he gave me a quote of $1,846 to restore one upstairs circuit (including anything that was affected by that circuit) and to do a panel tune up, which I agreed to. Javier showed up promptly in the morning and began checking out the circuit, and Daniel arrived shortly after (bad storms that morning) and started work. The were very professional, and very personable, explaining to me each step along the way what was wrong, what was okay, what changes were needed, how they were going about the changes, etc. I was taking pictures to document the changes just to have a record for when I sell this house one day, and they helped me get before and after pictures as we went along. Gilbert stopped by midway to check and make sure all was going well. Javier and Daniel were at the house for almost 5 hours. Along the way they discovered that when an electrical outlet was moved by another handyman (when I had a pocket door installed years ago), it was not hooked up properly, and we were worried that the aluminum wiring had not been spliced correctly at the junction box behind the wall. We determined they needed to cut into the drywall and locate and check the junction box, and I was told they would have to charge me 1.5 hours to do this (at a rate of $540). Not knowing what all would be involved I agreed, and with a small camera Daniel was able to locate the junction box, and instead of cutting into the drywall from the bedroom side, he was able to work inside the adjoining closet and made the cuts and corrections there. The whole process probably took about 45 minutes, so in hindsight it would be nice to have been charged for the actual time needed rather than the estimated time. Javier also found some incorrect wiring at the panel box which he corrected, and he tightened all the connections and made sure they were sound. So there was a lot of work done, and no more flickering lights, no more arcing outlet, and I feel very comfortable that the outlets/switches and lights are all connected properly now. I think the pricing was a bit high, but until I could see what work was involved it was very hard to determine what a fair price is, especially since other workers had apparently not connected these items properly in the past. At $2300 for 5 hours work for two electricians that equates to about $230 an hour, although I know there was some materials cost as well so say $200 per hour which is still fairly high. If they had been a bit lower I might have been able to go forward with some downstairs work but will have to hold off for another time. Still, aluminum wiring is a dicey issue, and I felt like they really knew what they were doing so I'm satisfied for this job.

After reviewing available electrical companies from Angies list I called Universal Home Experts of Houston, Texas and set up an appointment with an expected $60.00 service charge. The Company rep arrived on 28 May, 2014 and we walked through the items that I wanted repaired. The Company rep was professional, courteous and knowledgeable. He wrote up 2 options for repairs and new installations and reviewed them with my wife and I. We decided on an option and set the schedule for the work to begin the next day, 29 May, 2014. The proposal quotations were lump sum/ turnkey quotes. The Universal crew arrived at my home 7:50 am the next morning and started prep work while the supervisor pulled the city permit. They were uniformed, professional and courteous. They completed all the work before 5:00 pm and we did a walk through and checked all works to my satisfaction. Only hiccup was one of the techs lost his keys to the van and had to return later to get his van. Otherwise, my wife and I are pleasantly satisfied with all the hard work the Universal Home Expert crew completed for us. A special shout out to Gilberto, Michael, Daniel and Jaime for the hard work and the quality work you performed for us, thanks.

Paid between $70 & $80 for coupon for full house inspection; ended up paying over $6,000. Feel that services, although thorough and professional, were overpriced. Later had another electrician price out the work that was done and was told it should have cost around $2,000. Following initial inspection, we were told that house wiring was sound, but, on second call, were told that wiring is "loose" and not up to par.

Provider was very professional and gave more than one option for solving our problem.

Arrived on time at 8:00am in the morning ready to work! Very professional and polite. Did amazing install and followed up with there inspection of the house as promised. Could not have asked for a better experience!

I was told that he would need to come out to my house to inform me of the price and that it would cost me $58.00 for the service call. I did not have him come out because I felt like he could have told me how much this was going to cost over the phone or do a free estimate.

Everything went extremely well. Ryan handle all projects, including various types of ceiling fans, with ease and expertise.

I asked for a quote to replace a light fitting that had come detached from the ceiling, was quoted well over $1,000 !!!!!. I contacted another contractor from Angies list and got the job done within 6 hours for $140. In my opinion thes guy's are ripoff merchants.

We picked out the tile for both showers and the floor. The men who did the work did a great job, but the salesman (Don Fleck) was the problem. He was having heart problems at the time, so I don't know if he's still alive or not. The first thing was the replacement of the toilet. He charged about $550 for a toilet that I could have gotten at Lowe's for about $300. The real problem is the height of the stepout in the shower I use. It's a small shower. I'm retired, but volunteer at a number of places. One day I came home and the floor of my shower had been put in. We had never discussed the stepout. They made it 1", and when Don called him about it, he said that's what it is in hospitals. I figured that was from his health problems. I have volunteered in several hospitals (worked in one when I was in the USAF), and I understand such a low lip on hospital showers. There's no telling the physical capabilities of the patients. However, neither my wife nor I have any disabling problems yet. According to Mike Holms, the code is 4". I even called the man who installed the tile, but he wasn't interested. I was willing to pay him myself, but he still wouldn't do it. One thing Don that I appreciate did was to order extra tile and the grout that's mixed with some kind of stuff that makes the grout mold and mildew resistant. He did this because the tile was a special order, and we might not be able to get it again. I have sort of resigned myself to wiping up the water that splashes out of the shower, but for what we paid them, I shouldn't have to do that. I'm 6', 2" tall, so some water always escapes the shower area.

The professionalism of Ryan Brady was outstanding. He explained the different ranges of color in lighting to help me understand the selection of lights I was putting in. I learned a great deal from him and consequently am delighted with the lighting that was installed. He is a very personable man and very professional. I will be glad to have him as the technician on my future electrical needs. I have been a customer of Universal Home Experts for 3 years now and can't say enough about the quality of their work and the eagerness to please their customers in all the areas of service that they provide.
