Marcus, the Electrician tested the electrical outlets and helped me solve my own problem. Now my outlets, fane and lights are working and i know how to prevent future problems.

It went really well. Marcus explained all the work I needed done and recommended a better dimmer than what I had. He was very professional and friendly! He showed up on time and was very knowledgeable about his work and also gave other options that I didn't know about.

I called in and they showed up when they said they will show up. Marcus, the electrician with Universal came out. He took a look at my sprinkler system and informed me of things I can do correct my problems and gave me options of what they could do to correct the problems. they came on time and did the investigation. I may have to change the monitor.

Individuals inspected the water heater location and came up with three options for replacement (Tankless Water Heater, Rheem Water Heater with Anode Rod, and Rheem Water Heater without Anode Rod). Their estimates were significantly higher than the service provider I selected.

Arrived on time and the job was completed without problems

I had written a bad review, which I don't know how to remove. They worked with me to resolve my complaint for the most part. Basically, they installed new breakers and new breaker box about 1.5 years ago. At the time, I asked if I should get arc-fault/GFI breakers. The initial technician said, well, I could do that. But, old houses like mine typically have some kind of imperfections that will cause nuisance trips and it just wasn't worth it. So he recommended just standard breakers and that is what I had done. So, they came by a couple of weeks ago to do a "free" inspection and low and behold, they guy said, "well, I'd recommend you upgrade to arc-fault/GFI breakers and here's the estimate." And the estimate was about $2500. I complained saying that I specifically asked if I should do that before and was told no. And now you are saying yes I should and want tons more money. So, the owner of the company called and talked to me and said basically that both guys were right. The first guy was right that older houses often do have wiring imperfections and that can cost a lot to troubleshoot and repair. But the second guy was right that it is a good thing to do if you know ahead of time that you might run into issues that can cost more money. So, he basically cut the cost down in half to about $1100 to do the arc-fault breaker install, so long as I agree that I would do the circuit restorations, if necessary. Circuit restorations were about $1200 per circuit, but he said that he would give a discount if I needed a lot. It turns out I needed 2 circuit restorations out of my 11 circuits. And 2 wasn't enough to get a quantity discount. So I paid about $2400 for the circuit restorations. What a "circuit restoration" includes is to replace all the switches and plugs on the circuit. Including GFI's if needed. Troubleshoot any issues. And replace, if necessary, 1 wire segment. If it so happens that more than one wire segment needs to be replaced, that would be additional cost. I needed just one wire segment replaced so that was included in the cost. I asked for a quote to replace the rest of the sockets and switches. I figured it would be too expensive and would probably just do it myself. But I figured I might as well get a quote. He said that unfortunately they would need to quote it as basically circuit restorations even though no troubleshooting will be necessary since there are no faults. He said that all of the circuits in the house would then be covered by a 5 year warranty. But a cost of nearly $5000 to replace about 20 sockets and 20 light switches seems absurd, even with the 5 year warranty. So, I'll just do that myself. I could get a lot of this work done by hiring a "handy man" for a fraction of the cost. I know that having a licensed and bonded electrician has value. But, the cost difference between a "handy man" and UHE is just too much for many tasks. In my opinion anyway. So, I'm glad they lowered the price on installing the arc fault breakers. And I'm sure my house is better protected electrically than before. And they did a good professional job. But, the price still seems high to me. But, it was lowered enough to were I accept it and thus I'm giving them a C for price. Could be better, but, could be worse.

Michael P. systematically looked at several different issues that I had been having problems with, identified the root cause of each, and fixed what he could. I am awaiting parts on other repairs.
