The service went great! Mike Gustafsen was punctual and came prepared and ready to work! He provided great excellent customer service and explained throughout the whole process exactly what he was doing and was very respectful and all around did a great job! Mike has come by before and did a great job on fixing outlets and Mike is the reason why my family and I continue to recommend and use Universal Home a Experts over and over again. Highly recommend!

We had two outdoor outlets that weren't working. It seemed like a GFI problem, but all the GFI breakers were working. Mike Gustafson and I double checked all the GFI breakers. When he started tracing the wires behind the wall, he discovered another "faceless" GFI in a closet. Mystery solved. Mike was super professional and friendly.

I thought the technician went above and beyond. He not only evaluated the faucet, he also checked the hot water heater in the attic because he thought it might have contributed to the faucet leaking hot water. While in the attic he also showed me code violations with the water heater installation a prior plumber had completed.

Sam S. Excellent service and knowledgeable. was able to answer all my questions at a level I got it. Explained what was needed to rectify the situation. I appreciated the courtesy and prompt service. Felt like I was dealing with a top notch service professional.

Received an electrical inspection and quote for services suggested. We have not had the suggested services done, but we were pleased with the representative of the company & the inspection process.

It went well. They told me I needed $7,000 worth of work and it turned out I needed $65 worth of work. They didn't get very well. Price was good.

It turned out okay. He called me where my reset was which was in our place and the reason why the outlet wasn't working. He did a good job. There were no additional charges. Price was good for him to come in and diagnose my issue.

The electrician arrived on time looked at the surge point, and wrote a diagnosis and a proposed repair plan. The company was professional from head to toe. Sent me updates on the progress of the electrician as the day progressed, so I knew exactly when to expect him. Now that's great service.

The deal was an excuse to make a sales call, more time spent on telling me that my home electrical system was not up to code and trying to get me to buy services from the company

They were courteous, timely, and professional. However, I was very disappointed in the price they quoted me. They wanted $503 for 1 light fixture (chandler) installed.

Motor died on a Saturday night. Angel V. was the technician sent to diagnose the problem. He got the motor special ordered on Monday morning. It arrived late Tuesday afternoon and he installed it so that I had wonderful cool air on Tuesday night. Angel is a wonderful technician and I would ask for him again if I had a problem within his realm of expertise. Universal was very responsive to my problem, and offered a loaner, portable A/C unit to keep me cool until the motor arrived. The office kept me apprised as to what was ordered, when it was expected, and when I could expect the repair to be made. The unit was still under warranty.

After taking my money, after multiple emails and calls, and after scheduling and confirming my appointment, they said I was "out of their service area," even though this was verified by Angie's list before I made the purchase. Then they put the responsibility on me to get a refund from Angie's list.

It went very well from the beginning to the end. The company was very prompt in reaching out. Once my appointment was scheduled, the company called 20 minutes prior to the technician's arrival to let me know he was en route. My technician, Graig, was very courteous, and very prompt in assessing the problem and completing the work. I would definitely use this company again if needed and highly recommend them.

Sam S. came out the same day to correct the problem. He was friendly and professional, and did the job completely and thoroughly. Sam demonstrated what I have come to expect from multiple visits from Universal Home Experts - they are prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, and highly qualified. When it comes to electrical repairs in my home, I can trust them to do the job correctly.

My original appointment was for a Wednesday morning. By mid-morning, I had not yet received a call that the electrician was on the way. I called the company at 11:30a to ask for an estimated time of arrival. They told me that the electrician was on a job and had been there for an hour and a half, that he should be done soon and I was next on the list. However by 1:30p, I still had not received a call that they were on the way. As I needed to be somewhere, I rescheduled. They kindly rescheduled me and placed me first in line. Sam S. and Sean arrived in a timely manner, introduced themselves, and made a general survey of the electrical issue. Sam then asked if it would be okay to look over the entire electrical system and let me know of anything he might find. I agreed. After completing the evaluation, I was provided with multiple options for repair and/or upgrade. There was no pressure to spend on something for which I wasn't prepared. In the end, they ended up repairing the existing fixture. Sam and Sean were friendly, knowledgeable, cordial, and professional. They didn't waste time and worked efficiently. I was pleased to have them in my home. In the future, we'll keep the other upgrades in mind and call Universal Home Experts, should we decided to have them completed.

I placed a call around 12 today and Anthony & Sean arrived just a few hours later. They were professional and friendly. Both men put shoe covers on and were very respectful of our home. They looked at all the faulty work that had been carried out by our previous contractor and not only gave us a bid for the repairs, but also carried out an inspection of all our electrics to make sure everything was safe. They spent nearly two hours at our home, checking circuits, checking our main box and even going up into the attic, where Anthony took pictures of the faults and showed us when he came back down. In addition to our bid Anthony wrote us a report of his findings, detailing code violations and other problems he found that could be dangerous. Our bid and the report were prepared within half an hour. Although pricing was on the high side, I really think they are worth it. They were so thorough and extremely knowledgeable. I would be more than confident in any work they would perform. I would like to thank them for the time and attention they spent at our home. I would highly recommend them. There was no charge for their visit.

Appointment made for 2 p.m. today (Monday 8/22/2016) last Thursday. They failed to show up nor did they call at 2 p.m. Marcus called me at 5 p.m. ensured me he was on his way and would take care of me. He came out, looked at the switch, and found loose wire on screw. He corrected the issue for me. Bathroom light now working again. Thank you Marcus! I really appreciate your coming out.

Marcus, the electrician, with Universal visited my home and provided quotes to replace light fixtures. He was early to our appointment and provided a variety of quotes for service. Very well-mannered and polite. Great to work with!

Marcus, the electrician from Universal, came out on time. Performed adequate inspection of services needed. Was very professional and provided options to remediate all inquiries.

The technician diagnosed a bad breaker switch and replaced it for $228, but the fault condition persisted when he flipped the switch. Turns out there was a short in a junction box 15 feet from the breaker. I agreed it was reasonable to replace the 15 foot section of aluminum wire with copper wire, since the wire exiting the junction box is copper and it never should have been wired that way in the first place. The junction box, wire run and breaker box are all easily accessible in the garage. The technician quoted $1141 to replace that 15 ft section of wire. I said no, so he asked what I thought would be a good price. I asked how long it would take, he said that was irrelevant because that's not how they do pricing. I paid him for the breaker switch I didn't need and he left. There is zero chance the repair I needed would take one hour. Generously, the materials involved cost $100. This company asked for over $1000 for less than one hour's work as a way to pressure me into an immediate $4000 complete breaker box replacement. The technician defended the $1141 pricing, saying he charges prices like that all the time for similar jobs (short jobs with minimal material costs). That is the price you pay for a licensed, bonded electrician, he said. Side note, the reason he quoted the complete breaker box is that I told him we were planning to get it done in a couple months to coincide with some other planned work, and that I'd be happy to consider a quote from him. Needless to say, I will not consider Universal Home Experts for that work or any future work, and I will encourage others to avoid them as well. I now see a lot of their negative reviews are for electrical work. Angie's List: why do they come up as an A rated company when I searched for an electrician? Could we get that fixed please?

Greg, The Plumber with Universal did a wonderful job fixing our leaky disposal. He assessed the issue right away and had the disposal working without leaks quickly. He also called to get me emergency HVAC work for tonight when another company couldn't come until the next day.
