It went fairly well. I made contact with them through a neighbor who had used them. We corresponded mostly through email and text message. The quality of the finished product was good. But, I have issues with punctuality and the way they maintained the site. I had asked that they do the work on consecutive days so that I could keep and eye on them. I do have extensive experience with concrete work and know good from bad. They showed up on a Monday to breakout the existing concrete, set forms and rebar. They said they should be able to pour the next day. On Tuesday, I got a call saying it would be Wednesday. As I had meetings on Wednesday, I could not take off to supervise the pour. I decided I did not need to take off based on the quality work they did with the forms and rebar. Wednesday, I got a call from Sam saying they had not put enough sand in the forms and the thickness of the slab would be 6" instead of 4". They wanted to charge me $175 for extra materials but would not charge for labor. I explained my experience with concrete and told them the labor to pour a 6" and 4" slab was the same. The labor is affected by the surface area. I also told them that the additional concrete was required because they did not put enough sand in the forms to get the proper depth. I agreed to split the cost. When I got home Wednesday evening from work, I found they had washed out their equipment in the neighbor's yard. They came back Thursday to clean up but left a bare spot in the yard that I had to resod. They took $30 off of the bill for that. The quality of the work was good, but it is the little things that make me hesitant about recommending them or using them again.
