Two Men & A Truck

I've used Two Men and a Truck twice before with great outcomes. This most recent move, however, couldn't have been more different. We had 9 items of furniture for them to move, no boxes, nothing else...9 pieces of furniture. The move was 12 mins away. It took them over 6 hours and that was with my family helping to move the items into the new place because we had an appt and couldn't believe it was taking so long. We also did not have them put anything back together....6 HOURS FOR 3 MEN TO MOVE 9 PIECES OF FURNITURE, 3 MILES AWAY! Either these men had been told to intentionally delay or they were not fit to carry out the job. Every time i looked, one was outside smoking, the other was lost somewhere in the truck. Add to this, they left cigarette butts and empty water bottles in my front yard and came asking for water because they brought nothing with them. Needless to say I will never contract this company again.

Everything went great., Was about 2 hours or moving.

We moved in July from a four bedroom home to a two bedroom apartment and followed all instructions to make sure everything was disassembled and ready for move day. The movers seemed nice and were impressed how ready we were with the disassembly and boxing up. Although we were in a 4 bedroom house, we were moving only 40% of the furniture. The rest was to to be moved to storage by someone else (me) on another day. Because we were interested in a quick move, we paid for 3 men to move us. They seemed to move in slow motion and took 14 hours to move me 10 miles away. I could not believe what I was seeing. I called the manager on the way to the new place and he assured me that they would make it right. He called me the next day, and said he would deduct two and a half hours and we needed to pay for 11.5 hours ($1929.56) for our two bedroom apartment. Please see the pictures of our entire contents of our apartment furniture and decide if this was should take 14 hours to move. They dropped my couch against a wall in my old house, requiring a repair of a hole 3"x 1" to be repaired and the wall to be repainted. A couch ended up with a 3" gash in the back of it. They also broke my wife's antique curved glass display case. The manager offered to repair the display case and told my wife he would pay us $25.00 to repair the wall. He said they would just "throw some spackle in it", which really infuriated my wife. Then he refused to fix the display case because my wife got upset with him. After a few days, I got a call from the office stating they would pay $300.00 to us for the wall, couch, and display case. After unpacking our boxes, almost ALL of the boxes marked "Fragile" had broken items in them. All the "fragile" boxes were packed well with tissue and bubble wrap. It seemed like they intentionally did that because the boxes that were not as carefully packed with bubble wrap and tissue, did not have broken items. Only the ones marked "Fragile" seemed to have issues. To make matters worse, they never sent me the check they said they would. I wonder if they claimed it with their insurance? These people do not care about you, your belongings, nor do they care about integrity.

The move went fine. The movers did not waste any time packing or driving to the new location. I had one mirror break but they filled out paperwork and i am in process of getting reimbursed. They had packed it well but vibrations took their toll. I do not blame the movers.

I Googled a bit before settling on TMaaT, primarily because of Caroline's professionalism during my initial call. They were about mid-range in terms of price. We scheduled for the 12p - 2p slot, and around 12:30p, Caroline called me to inform me that the movers were going to be around 1.5 hours late. As I wasn't in a time crunch, I wasn't concerned. Andre and Darrell called me, apologized, and gave me an ETA of 4p, which they hit on the spot. As the contract was hourly, I was slightly concerned as we'd now slipped into the start of peak-traffic, and was prepping myself for an argument if the truck took much more time than expected to reach my home. I left for the my home about 5 minutes before the truck, used Google Maps, and I kid you not, the truck arrived at my home before I did. That was when I realized these guys were the real deal. Upon arriving at my condo, the team immediately provided the appropriate paperwork to the front desk, and created two stacks (800lbs each) of tiles, which they quickly loaded into the elevators and to the entrance of my home. As I'm in the middle of a minor renovation, the team had to further break down the stacks and individually haul the boxes up a flight of stairs. I've rarely seen people work so efficiently and without complaint, at a task which was essentially backbreaking, ESPECIALLY at an hourly rate (i.e. no incentive to complete the job quickly). Andre and Darrell cracked jokes while hauling 41 40lb boxes of tile, up a flight of stairs, non-stop, flawlessly, for an hour. As we had a few minutes left before the hour mark, they also graciously moved a full-sized washer/dryer pair down the stairs, as I'm swapping them out for new units. No wall dings, no scratches, nothing. These guys were seriously awesome. I mean seriously. Highly recommended and would call them again, anytime. If I could provide one recommendation, TMaaT should provide back braces and gloves to their contractors, perhaps emblazoned with their company logo. It feels like that small investment would greatly improve the lives and extend the productivity of their team. Perhaps it'd also reduce the likelihood of accidental drops, as well (none occurred during my move). Best, Sumanth

They were late arriving, and it took a long time to get the truck in the correct position and ready to go. They noted the time difference on the form, and said they would make it up on the end as needed. They were slow, and took frequent smoke and phone breaks. We provided water for them, although they also had water. I am glad for them to take water breaks, but I did not appreciate the frequent smoke and phone breaks that slowed the team down. On the positive side, they did a great job with both large and fragile items. They bubble wrapped fragile furniture, and padded everything. All of our furniture arrived in good condition, which is the most important thing, and is why we give them a mostly positive rating. however, they made the move longer than it should have, and expected us to pay the resulting extra time. We were 100% ready for them, all delays were on their side. Another positive was the booking process - - the reservation team triple confirmed the date and time, including calling us the day before to reassure us their team would be there Moving is stressful, and I appreciated that follow through. If we use them again, we will ask them in advance not to smoke, or take frequent phone breaks that slow the move.

Moved our furniture and boxes from one location to another. Both men came in and immediately began removing boxes and furniture. They were quick and took good care of our possession's.

Have used services multiple time and will continue to use them. Only once have we had any damage and that was this last move. Would like to say never but things happen and once out of four times is just life.

They were amazing and seriously, the best!

Everything went smoothly from beginning to end. The movers were professional, conscientious and great to work with. My furniture / glass was wrapped in either plastic or blankets. Nothing was damaged. I was quite pleased to also get a call from LK during the moving process making sure everything was running smoothly. I would definitely use this company again for my moving needs.

The guys showed up before time (a plus in my book). They were extremely courteous and respectful. The low scores come from them not protecting my furniture during the move. I asked if they had cloth padding to cover my items before moving them. I was told that the padding was only to be used while the items were in the truck. Moving heavy pieces of wood furniture on a metal dolley requires some kind of cushion (I've moved several times to know this). They also packed their truck in a way that my memory foam mattress (very expensive mattress!) had a 2-3 inch rip in it by the end of the move. I was told that someone from the company would contact me about replacing the mattress, but no one has contacted me thus far.

They were very friendly and fast and very good at their job from to bottom. Very very good. Plan on using them again for sure!

They moved what we asked them to move. The crew was on time and went right to work. Unfortunately they did not do a very good job of protecting my furniture from damage even though when they asked if I wanted them to wrap and pad I answered yes (they ask because it takes longer and they are paid by the hour). They completely destroyed a large cabinet I had in my garage and damaged one of the matching smaller cabinets. Both the headboard and footboard of my king sized bed were damaged (they didn't wrap them at all, just placed between mattress & box spring). They also broke the leaded glass in the front door of my old house and scratched up the door jamb on my new house. They did hire a glass company to replace the broken glass in the door of the old house, but I just had to settle for $0.60/lb for my destroyed cabinet. I would not recommend these movers.

The move started at 9 am. By 11 am, my house of 1100 sqft was moved into their truck. (I did all the packing before hand.)The movers had directions to my new house, printed from on online source. But they said they would follow me, so I drove my car and they followed. They were very careful with my furniture, and made sure not to damage the furniture or the house while moving. They were very friendly. I can't think of anything they could have done better.
