TURNER ENTERPRISES

It went great. We got rained out a couple of days, but then they were back at it. It was amazing at how fast it went. He has a great crew. They cleaned up afterward.

Mr. Turner was initially very responsive and seemed eager to begin work. After receiving multiple quotes, his was not the cheapest, but he also included some work items that others would not do. When he bid on the job, I told him that I would reimburse him for all materials at cost when receipts were provided. He initially said he would start on a Thursday or Friday, but then pushed everything back to the following Monday even though we had good weather the whole time. On Sunday, he called to say that he would not be able to start until Tuesday and we agreed to meet at 7:00 AM on Tuesday. At 7:05 Tuesday he called to say he was not coming that day and it would have to be pushed back to the next day. At this point my wife thought that he was going to string us along and I certainly thought it was very unprofessional. Nonetheless, I did not say anything and we agreed to meet at 7:00 on Wednesday. Late on Tuesday afternoon he called asking if he could come later on Wednesday and I had to explain for the third time that I could not miss work to meet with him. He then asked to receive an advance the next day for materials, even though we had previously agreed that I would pay at the end of the three day job with receipts. At this point he became very confrontational and unprofessional. He said that everyone of his clients provides him advances and that he had a lot of other jobs that he could be working on and he did not need mine. In addition, he said that he normally charges much more than he was charging me and he did not know what he was thinking when he bid the job. Once he became this unprofessional, I said that it would be best if we parted ways.

They did a very good job. He was a very nice man and I guess the price was fair because it was in line with the others. I paid about $3,000 for the work he did and the quality of the work was also good.

Fantastic results with a fantastic installation crew. We scheduled in advance so that the work could be done while we were out of town for Thanksgiving holiday. His crew showed up right on time at 7:30am and began work as soon as they arrived. They taped as much as possible to reduce dust in the rest of the house. They removed about 900 sq ft of very ugly tile and replaced it with modular travertine. They had replaced the 1/4 round and repainted it. We came home and the floor looked fantastic! It went so well, that when Mr Turner came to collect final payment, we had him bid a couple of more jobs. Very happy with him and his work crew. This is the third time he has worked in our home. We have been extremely happy with the work quality, price, cleanup, and final results each time.

In general, they did a good job. The quality of the paint job and retiling of floor is good. If there were any defects we found, they fixed them the next day. Very punctual and professional.

He did a great job. My overall experience with him was great. So, I am going to call him back shortly, to fix a problem.

1) Before company was awarded this project, Mr. Turner presented the story of it being a one week job and that he had a great team of workers ready to undertake the work and complete the project within 4-5 days. After two weeks, they were only about 1/4 through the project. 2) We witnessed at least two of the 4 workers committing unprofessional acts while working by damaging existing doors, floors and walls through careless behavior. They left virtually all lights in the house on each evening along with open paint cans drying out overnight. 3) They left trash and other items moved out of the house into the open areas outside and they were rained upon creating a horrible cleanup situation which I had to perform for garbage day. 4) One or more of your workers commandered items from customer's toolset stored in the garage to use in their work. A hammer and screwdriver from this case are still missing. 5) They grabbed up our portable stereo system and re-progammed the radio channels with their own favored stations then dragged it about the house staining it with primer paint and sanding dust in the speakers. 6) Before they were awarded this project, customer clearly stated a number of requests of Mr. Turner and he responded with a friendly retort... "not a problem"... I will do it!", but virtually all of these agreed upon requests were not heeded. For example he promised not to paint over the hinges but rather save hinges in their original nude brass. Before beginning the project it was requested and you agreed to take the cabinet?doors off prior to applying any paint and they would be sanded, puttied and then brush painted. They did not do this and spray painted them with primer along with the cabinet hardware.. 7) They created messes and damages that they did not clean up and provided unskilled and unprofessional workmanship on a daily basis during the project. If the project required them to do more work than Mr. Turner had agreed upon he should have reflected that in his bid and not punished the customer by providing shoddy work and cutting corners on doing a proper job. They were not the low bidder in this job, but we had chosen to award the project to Mr. Turner because of their rating on Angie's list and his willingness to do the project in a timely manner and heed our customer requests. We trusted him and Angie's List ratings and have been provided a broken trust. In conclusion we fired Mr. Turner and his company and suggest that if you think twice and confirm his references carefully before using his service offering.. We had requested references from him that were not delivered and we made a horrific mistake in allowing him to proceed before he provided them and we had checked them out.

Steve gave us an estimate at this fist visit. We did not have to wait for him to get back to us and he never waivered from those numbers except for the additional tasks that we added to the scope. He did what he said he was going to do when he said he was going to do it, was responsive and flexible, and did not "nickle and dime" for every window sill, door jamb, etc. His crew are artisans, especially in the preparation and replacement of old wood elements to existing wooden components that cannot be replaced. They never had to mask anything, every line was straight and true.

Item 1: Frame was quickly and correctly repositioned. HOWEVER, counter-sunk nail holes on interior frame were not filled in and no touch-up paint was applied. Item 2: Quickly done to my satisfaction. Item 3: After three tries, correct style of door was finally furnished. The installer hand-mortised all the recesses. The door seemed to function ok before the paint was applied. At this point, I foolishly paid off the remaining portion of the contract. After the paint dried and I had installed the handle, the door would not close without a lot of pressure applied. If the door were to be closed and not latched, it would spring open with a vengeance and then swing open all the way, propelled by the springing action. The installers came back out (Mr. Turner has never inspected this job) they looked at the door, rubbing there hands over the hinge at the top and discussing something among themselves in Spanish (which I don't speak). Then they announced,to me (in very limited English) that the door would correct itself over time. They apparently told Mr. Turner that they had fixed the door, as he left a message on my phone to that effect. After a couple of weeks, the door had not "corrected itself" and I called Mr. Turner again. The door stop had been installed "jammed up" to the door and I believed this was causing the binding. It was during one of our subsequent phone conversations that Mr. Turner told me this job was really not worth it to him (or words to that effect). The next Friday, the two workmen came out (and again rubbed their hands across the top hinge and muttered to each other in Spanish) and removed the door stop, breaking it in one place. They reinstalled the same door stop with a bit of gap. It did not cure the problem. They left. The painter has never showed up to finish the job. Mr. Turner has never contacted me since, nor has he ever inspected the job. The door now closes with only moderate pressure. It springs back only slightly and drifts all the way open on its own accord. And of course it shows numerous counter-sunk nail holes, one break, and one splice.

It went very well. He responded immediately to my call and was ready to do the job earlier than the estimated start date. We kept in contact during the work and the price was reasonable.

I contacted Steve and two others from Angie's list for an estimate. All were prompt in their arrival for estimating. All were within 5% of the average price. Steve was the lowest. We were unable to start right away due to remaining work by the construction contractor and my being out of the country on business. Steve stayed in touch with me to keep up with the progress of the other contractor and always assured me that we could work into his schedule as soon as I was ready. There was never any pressure to start right away or delay the job. When we were ready to start painting, Steve and his crew showed up at the agreed upon time and started their prep work. They were very conscientious about protecting furniture, carpet, flooring, etc. The work on my part was minimal - just removing pictures and other wall-mounted items. Steve's crew moved the furniture as needed to paint and got everything back in its original location. There were even some fairly heavy items that they were able to move without my help. Everything got primed (where needed) and painted in the colors and finish we selected. The work was done in a timely manner, with no damage. An unexpected rainstorm soon after the deck was painted blew some of the protective film loose, which resulted in some paint on the newly stained deck (not part of this contract). Steve's crew cleaned it with no visible residue. During the course of the job, Steve always made a point of calling me to make sure I was satisfied with the quality and the progress. From the first walk-through for estimating to the final inspection and payment, I was thoroughly pleased with the quality and professionalism exhibited by Steve and his workers. Next time I need paint, he's the one I'll call.

Called another company from Angie's list and they referred me to Turner Enterprises. I wanted the work to be done in a timely manner and Steve got back to me really fast. He sent workers over a few days later and literally I can not see where the original hole in the ceiling was. The crew was great. They didn't leave a mess and the repair is amazing. I would use Turner Enterprises again.

They were prompt about coming out and giving me the bid and were able to get started sooner than anyone else. The completed the work in 3 or 4 days and it looks great. They accidentally hit a nail through the AC, but they called and told me what happened and had it taken care of.

Let me start at the beginning. After Hurricane Ike I had recieved several bids to repair my chimney and replace some shingles on my roof. Most of the contractors I contacted told me it would be weeks and weeks before they could get to me or their bids were outrageous. I called Turner Enterprises and spoke with Steve Turner and expressed my concerns of water leaking in around the chimney and the loose shingles. He gave me a bid of 1,700 dollars and said he would work me in and he did. His crew arrived when promised and was done in one day. Their work was very professional. It looked great and I was very pleased. Though Steve was not here he stayed in contact with me and his crew through out the day to make sure I was satisfied and how his guys were doing. I told Steve I had plains in the future to do some work on the outside of my home and I would contact him which brings us to the present. I called Steve, he came to the house and gave me an estimate of 3,150.00. I agreed and he told me he had a couple other jobs he was working on and it would be a couple of weeks before he could start work. He called about a week later and said they could be here the following Tuesday which was a week earlier than first thought. One of Steve's crewmen came out the Monday before the work was to start to pressure wash the house to be sure it would dry for the guys to state work on Tuesday. They arrived bright and early Tuesday morning and begain work as scheduled. Worked all day long and only took a break to eat lunch. they finished the job in 2 1/2 days. Steve and I did an inspection of the house and after a couple minor corrections everything was great. Again I am very please with the finished product. Let me say I can not express enough what a pleasure it is to work with Steve. He is very professional and very determined to make sure his crews do the best job. He not only did a great job on my house but also put me in touch with other companies for work I needed done that he did not do. You can't beat that for an up front and fair company. Turner Enterprises has a customer for life with me!

Steve provided me with one of two quotes that I received for this job. He responded promptly to my request for a quote, and he offered suggestions regarding the type(s) of paint best suited to the job. He knew I had received another quote, and, therefore, offered me the best quote that he felt he could for the job requested. For this particular job, I used 3 different types of paint in 5 different colors (including trim paint for touch-ups). I provided him with the names of the colors that I wanted to use for the main areas of my home. In addition, Steve purchased paint that matched my trim color and the color of my front door. Steve's bid included the purchase of the paints required to complete the job, and provided me with what I felt was an appropriate bid given the scope of the job. His crew arrived on the date targeted for the job to begin and completed the job in exactly the number of days that Steve had said they would. They cleaned up after themselves each day, and bagged all of their trash neatly. I was extremely satisfied with the qualify of work performed and requested the additional work (i.e., my front door and garage interior). I would highly recommend Steve and his team to other home owners and would definitely re-hire if the need arose.

The workers from Turner came out after a hurricane and fixed my chimney and replaced some of my roof. I was really impressed with their work. I feel that their prices are very competitive. I thought they were just great overall. They did high quality work and they were very prompt.

The exterior paint job was excellant. Some exterior trim was missed initially, but Steve was responsive and had it quickly corrected. The interior touchup was also vey well done with no problems. I'll use him again when it's time to paint the entire interior of my house.

We have a three story patio home and in the past we have had problems getting people to work on it. During the installation of hurricane shutters, the workers observed that water was leaking through holes drilled in the stucco. We called Turner Enterprises and Mr Turner came out quickly to look at the house. His first step was to have the roof checked in the event that the problem originated there. The alternative source of the problem was that the stucco, itself, was absorbing water due to cracks in the stucco and old paint. There was a long wait for the roofer to come; the inspection concluded that no roof work was needed. After the roof inspection we gave the go ahead for the painting. They used a high quality stucco paint. The actual work was started promptly and completed in less than a week. Workers arrived when they stated, they were tidy and thorough. Although Mr. Turner was not on site during all the work, he called in daily (or twice daily) to monitor the progress and to check on our satisfaction with the work.

Mr. Turner was very responsive and professional. He returned my call and even came to my house after finding out I was farther out from his area. He gave an estimate and and time frame he could complete. He showed up at the time given with his employees and completed in the time given. Very punctual, professional and friendly. The price given was very fair, comparable and accurate as it did not change when the work was completed.. The work looks like the original and there aren't any issues. I will and have recommended his company to friends.

He did a really super job. We had two or three things wrong from a hurricane. He had his workers come. They were very courteous and quick to finish the job. He did a very good job on everything. We were very pleased.

Punctual in arranging to view the house and prepare a written proposal. Best priced proposal No extra cost was indicated in the exection of the work (final payment was exactly as bid) Work was completed two days earlier than estimated Work crew very competent and conscientious. They worked without my presence; I provided a key for entry so they could do the work while I was at work. There were no problems with this arrangement. Final inspection with the contractor resulted in his noticing more things to fix than I had noticed. Touchup work was completed the next day.

I had a good experience with them. The thing I really liked was that they were on time, came in, did their job, took a quick break, and were constantly working. They were very good about cleaning up.

Steve answered his phone on first call and made an appointment to look at the job the next day. He showed up promptly and spoke with us about what we wanted. He made some suggestions and included work to replace and fix some wood that had rotted, sand, clean up, and paint the doors in addition to the standard cleaning. We agreed on the estimate and paid him $500 for paint supplies. Steve was extremely helpful and experienced ? answered questions, pointed out some issues, and asked our preferences. He looked at our paint selections and thought it might be too blue for the look we wanted to achieve. He suggested he come back with some paint samples of the colors and we could try them on the house in various areas. He was correct, the colors were wrong for us. He gave us a paint 'book' and recommended some colors. He was never forceful, but worked with us. We tried several variations and settled on the paint 2 days before he was to begin. This caused no problems for him and he had not even cashed our check for supplies. The work began and completed on schedule. The crew was courteous and not evasive. During the job, Steve assessed the work several times. Since the original paint job had a base and trim color, the same pattern was used. But as Steve looked at it, he felt it would appear better if the trim color was used where base paint had been used before. We discussed and he had it repainted the trim color and as he expected it looked much better. At the end of the job, after the crew had gone, Steve inspected the job with us. He found a few places needing touch-up and returned the next day to have the work done.

The work went great. Steve and his folks were punctual and dependable. The project took about 3 days and the guy who did the actual work was great. The one thing that I appreciate most (besides the great work) is the excellent communication from Steve. He phoned me at least once a day during the project to check on how it was going and if I had any issues. Because of that, the work was done right the first time around. I love what they did and will definitely call Steve again!!

I needed someone who would be timely an honest. The mason came within 2 days to finish the work and the repair is great.
