Turner Enterprises had already painted the exterior of our home. (See Review on 3/16/13.) Steve Turner's manager, named Juan, assigned 7 different painters to our home with 2 to 3 painters per day working in our home. The staff of painters did an excellent job. They were professional, worked hard, and meticulously cleaned up at the end of the day. Special kudos go to Hugo, Pedro and Juan. Pedro was the last painter on the last day of painting (7/19/13) and he was a perfectionist in every detail. We were also told if there was anything not done to our satisfaction, someone would come back to make it right. We did find one mistake, and Juan did come back a week later and made it right. We are pleased with the final outcome and highly recommend Turner Enterprises.

Great. I used Turner Enterprises to paint my house and carport this past spring. When I decided to install a ceiling in the carport I called Steve Turner to see if he could do the job. He said no problem, when do you want it done. They were on time and had the job done sooner than I expected. Great work.

Steve is great to work with- laid back, very funny and his guys do a great job. His prices beat anyone I've found, and I've used him three times now. He's a good guy and runs a good business. I highly recommend him.

I was getting several estimates, and they were reasonable, but wasn't ready to get the work done yet.

They did a great job. They were professional and on time. I would use them again and also recommend them.

Everything went as requested. They came when they said they would and cleaned up everything. And, they left me with touch up paint for any future needs, etc. My property was 30 miles out of Houston and when I initially called Steve said that I could probably get a better price from someone closer to the home. However a week or so later he called me back saying they had a big job close to my property and could work my job in while working the other. I was so happy since I had not been able to locate another painter in that time. I really wanted the painting done while the house was empty and not have to worry about working around furniture and all. Anyway......all I can say is I'm a very happy camper and would use Turner Enterprises for another project should the need arise. Doris Simmons

I am very satisfied with the outcome of the work. The crew was professional and hard working. They started the job on time as scheduled and finished within 2 weeks despite the many interruptions due to the rain, and some additions to the original work order. All my concerns, requests and observations were addressed by Steve and his crew professionally and in a timely manner. The key to that was open communication between us to ensure that we were always on the same page on the remaining open items. The crew completed their work and left the yard clean. We were so satisfied with the quality of work, responsiveness and pricing, that we engaged Turner Enterprises on another painting project!

Steve came to my home, quoted my repairs along with 3 other company's, I decided to go with Steve as he was not only the cheapest, but because he seemed nice, and I thought I could count on him. We scheduled for Monday the 15th of July( my birthday) but there is urgency as we are trying to show and sell our house/ move before the interest rates get any higher. I explained all of this to Steve. Who claimed to be able to do the work yesterday. At 9:30 he calls me, to tell me that he cannot make it, that it will be Tuesday instead. I swallow the fact that he stood me up, took my morning away from me, agree to Tuesday. Today. At 9:30, still no Steve... So I call.. He doesn't answer. I leave a message, and 10 minutes later I get a text, saying now he won't be able to do the work until Thursday or Friday.. He didn't even have the professionalism to respond with a phone call.. Obviously, this was my last straw.. And I informed him that I would be using someone else, and that I would be leaving a negative review on Angie's list.. Never heard back, not so much as an" I'm sorry". Now I'm a week behind.. Sometimes cheapest isn't the best.. Lol he was only $100 cheaper, but I also included a large painting in the deal,so at the end of the day it would have been a wash. Anyways.. Don't let Steve waste your time like I did.

Other than some difficulty contacting the owner by phone, everything went very well. The crew provided the expected service and even came back a second day when I expressed some concerns about an area of the garage that didn't look clean.

Would not recommend...Unfortunately I am assuming our job was not big enough to warrant any attention. Came out and gave a quote to paint the deck. Said he would call to schedule the work. Have not heard a word in nearly a month. There was not any type of rush but I believe good business would be to atleast call and work out an estimated date of service. Too bad because I have now decided to paint the whole of the interior of my home which could have been a large project for this company.

It went well. We had removed all the old drywall down to the studs in the living room due to termite damage. We also had a plumber install PEX plumbing lines in the house and he had to open up existing walls to make connections. The new drywall looks great and the texture on the patches blends in perfectly with the existing painted walls. You can't tell anything was done! I have used Turner Enterprises in the past and will use them again.

Absolutely excellent. I met with Steve Turner and hired him on the spot in April. I liked the way he spoke, and everything he said made sense. I was told by another contracting bidder that Masonite was no longer made, and I would have to purchase Hardiplank to replace the Masonite the squirrels had chewed away. My house was built in 1989, and had never been repainted since it was built. Mostly brick with some Masonite. The other bidder also told me I should replace all the Masonite and shop garage wood with Hardiplank. Steve said he could find Masonite, and there was no reason to go to the expense of Hardiplank. Except for the one section; the rest of my Masonite looked good, but definitely needed painting. He thought the work would take about three days. It ended up being five days, due to all the rotted wood which needed replacing behind the gutters. We agreed on the price of $2600. While that was slightly on the high side, it was still within reason and I agreed. All buildings were pressure washed to clean them, then three to four days were spent repairing and replacing as necessary. There was so much extra rotted wood, which was not known until the gutters were removed. I could see all the damage, and took pictures of it all, so I know they were telling the truth. The old rusted screen attic vents were replaced with metal protected screens on the house and shop garage. The guys were phenomenal. All materials and debris were picked up. My trim was a very bright color with the white paint, and all paint lines are crisp. They even two toned my garden shed. The wood panel I wanted under the front porch took a lot of time to get the fit right. They guys spent a lot of time on this. Steve came out to collect the balance of funds, and while we had agreed on the total $2600, I offered an extra $400 bringing the total to $3000. I told him I know there was a lot of extra wood provided not in the original bid, and while I don't want to be ripped off; I don't want to rip off anyone either. I felt the extra $400 was the right thing to do. I feel the garden shed needed more paint due to the dryness, but I understand they didn't want to spend a lot of time on a shed. I purchased more paint, and had my stepson put a couple extra coats on it. The painters removed the hooks on my porch where I had lights. They weren't supposed to do this, but I had my stepson replace those too, so all is well. I emailed Steve to see if I could pay to get some extra paint trim done, but I never heard back from him. I guess I'll have to do that myself, or have my stepson do it.

The experience was disappointing at the best. Overall, Steve is one of the contractors you really need to watch out for. In the end I wasted money, missed days from work for nothing, and ended up with unfinished work and a whole lot of frustration. It started off ok. Steve and I reviewed the quote and agreed to start working on my property on Monday. On Sunday afternoon, Steve gave me a really short notice that the crew needed to delay my project, because he has too many projects and he is behind. But I already took Monday off..... His guy power washed the garage on Tuesday afternoon. It was brutal how he did it. The nozzle was too close to the wood, and damaged some of the sidings. And then another no show on Wednesday and Thursday morning. I was really not impressed by how he manages his projects. He is clearly incapable of managing multiple projects, and worse yet, he selectively disregards his customer's schedule. His guys are at someone else's property after all. This is very unprofessional. At Thursday lunch time, Steve stopped by for 5 min to collect 10% down payment for the material. He probably realized things were going south. I really shouldn't have given him the money. He told me I didn't need to be on top of it, and go to work if I need to. Ok, I was naive enough to listen to him. His guy started working on repairing the sidings in the afternoon. I came home to find a lot of huge gaps between the new sidings. His guy used the caulk to cover the gap up. The guy used the tiny finish nails to nail the siding to the posts/studs, so the sidings are already bowing out by Thursday evening. Steve never spent enough attention to the work. He has only been on my property less than a few times, and each time he is out in 15min, max! Had a phone call with Steve on Friday. He said I had unreasonable expectation. He said it is because my garage is a piece of junk that the sidings are bowing out. I had someone over for a second opinion. The bowing siding problem can be fixed by using proper nails. His guy used indoor nails that will rust eventually outside, and sooner or later the sidings he installed will all have the same problems. The whole experience is just ridiculous. Fine, my garage is old. I understand it won't look new after painting. But I didn't plan on paying him thousands of dollars to have pressure washer damaged sidings, weak indoor nailson the sidings, and gaps between sidings. None of this is written in his quote. I paid him to expect the work done properly by the professionals. I am offended by his comments that my property is a piece of junk, and he is just doing me a favor. Doing me a favor for what?! For all that money he made? Steve is overbearing, condescending, arrogant, and trying to get by with the minimum and improper work. It is just unbelievable. Lots of good luck to everyone else who plan on hiring him.

Painted up stairs and down. worked for nine days having four and five painters at a time. cleaned up each day and gone about five. everything done as requested. Very friendly crew.

Work involved numerous pieces and required extensive oversight to keep it in focus. Steve Turner did a very good job of coordinating the work and maintaining schedule. Window rebuilding, in particular, demanded skillful effort and was performed admirably. Quality of all work was excellent. Friendly/professional personnel..

Mr. Turner and his crew were a joy to work with and I would highly recommend them to anyone! Steve was very personable and professional and could tell by just a quick survey what needed to be done to my house to get it ready to sell and the pricing was very reasonable. The crew was very polite and very professional. They prepped the house and in two days it was ready to paint. They took their time and did an amazing job. I forgot to tell my lawn care provider not to show up and some grass accidentally became stuck to the paint. The crew was very patient and took their time to make sure all of the grass was removed and touched up paint where it needed it.

Have no way to judge price. it took about 3 hours. They were professional and prompt! I would recommend them.

Based upon Angie's List reviews, I had 3 different contractors bid on doing a lot of interior work. Mr. Turner's bid came in low and I liked his promise to take care of everything we wanted. He had no concerns about the work and gave us a reasonable time frame of painting for 4-6 days. Work began on a Monday with Steve's crew of workers arriving around 10 am and the foreman went through the house with my wife and myself to understand the details of the job and to inform his workers of what needed to be done. Once the workers understood what needed to be done, they started to move furniture to the center of each room, cover the items with a sheet of plastic, and then put down painter's drop clothes on the stairway and floors to protect from paint spills. All of the workers who came into my home over the span of the 4 days of painting were very courteous and worked hard. There were only a few communication barriers as not all were native English speakers. Any communication problems were resolved through Mr. Turner or the foreman. The foreman did not stay onsite the entire time as he had several other jobs to monitor but he did come by periodically to check on the work and help make sure that we were happy with the results. One of the workers was very skilled at using float to help cover up old wallpaper that could not be removed and then texture the walls. He also was helpful in fixing an area in our entry where a previous contractor had done a poor job of texturing and painting a section of wall. Mr. Turner has also promised to refinish our front door and one of the workers spent a good amount of time sanding, staining, and then finishing our front door. It looks new again! Overall, the experience was good. To make it excellent, I would have appreciated an in-person visit from Mr. Turner to see the progress and make sure we were happy with the results. The price was very good. The workers were very good. I would use Mr. Turner's service again.

Original contract was for $2200.00 to pressure wash, remove & replace rotten wood, caulk all windows & voids , prime & paint. Steve was giving me the neighbor discount to paint the exterior of my home. The house is shake shingle with several old coats of paint on it. The painters pressure washed, replaced rotten wood below 2 windows & one area of proch & replaced 2 pieces of shake shingle(which I provided) with holes when I pointed it out. I gave Steve the colors I wanted by text and email, I wanted him to use flat on the shake shingles. The guys took several days preping for paint. Once they painted it was really hideous, The blue for the shake shingle was Satin not flat and the shiny dark color really showed all the old coats of paint not washed off by the pressure washing. Steve tried a thick primer to cover up the old layers of paint. Then he had to repaint with the flat. Steve had good reviews on Angies List & also at Sherwin Williams over here by me. If I had known the old layers of paint would not come off and show this bad I may have waited and saved up to replace instead of paint, Steve having 20 years of experience I would think would have known it would look like this I told Steve I would pay extra to fix this so he asked for $400.00 more. I did pay the $2600.00. The guys worked hard trying to cover up the layers of paint they couldn' t remove but I am not pleased with the results and I regret paying extra. I will provide pictures.

Phone Mr. Steve Turner last week to set up an appointment to bid on two projects. That was the last time I heard from him. We had a family emergency yesterday, but I took off work today to be sure I was here for him. IF YOU VALUE SHOWING UP DO NOT RELY ON ANGIE'S LIST TO DOWNGRADE A CONTRACTOR FOR ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE. I take no follow-ups and waiting on a person to arrive related to the cable company I dismissed years ago, but on Angie's List, only actual service counts, not the individual customer. Thanks to Mr. Turner for losing a days work due to no contact and Angie's List for telling us he was an A+++ contractor. He did not seem excited to bid on the job when he asked if we lived in the wealthiest part of Houston on this bid call, and when I said we were in an older neighborhood 6 miles from Downtown somehow his voice took a lower octave. Read into it what you will, but I feel it was a cold shoulder from the beginning in retrospect..

It didn't because the guy was a mess.

Steve was easy to make an appointment with and met me in the evening to provide an estimate. The crew started on the day promised. During the job, Steve kept in touch to discuss progress. He is very good at communication. The painters were pleasant and professional. They cleaned up the area each day. The house looks great. I will use this company again.

We had a very positive experience. Steve and his crew were pleasant to work with. They were agreeable to add jobs as things came up beyond the original quote, which was very helpful for us. We also felt like we got a lot for the money. And the bottom line is everything looked good that they worked on. One thing that should be known: Steve is the main person you talk to and work out details and pricing with, but the actual workers are Latino; Steve was not there working with them (at least at our job). Now, we really enjoyed the crew (probably 8 different guys) that came to our house and they were kind to our kids, a big plus, and they did good work. Several of them were very sweet people. Communicating during the work day, however, was sometimes difficult. As long as you're ok with that, no problem. I would certainly use them again.

We had quite of bit of rotted wood (trim and fascia), and a LOT of caulking that needed to be done before repainting, including 20 or so original 1930s wood windows. The guys came in and got the job done, with minimal fuss. I would come by each day to check up on them, and they were always hard at work. We would walk around the house and if I saw anything that needed attention, they would make sure it was corrected. All told, it took a solid week, which was how long I was promised it would take. I have recommended them to other neighbors.
