He returned my call promptly. Said my tv was not made any more and could not get parts. Even if he could get parts would cost almost as much as a new tv. He said he would come out if I wanted but considering what he told me and my later conversation with the tech who installed my new tv I am glad I did not.
Description of Work: My 65" tv went out. Wanted him to come out & see if it could be fixed.

Around 3 weeks later, the TV completely stopped working and is only showing a white screen. My mother called him back, but he would not attempt to resolve the issue and told her to contact LG.
Description of Work: I gave my mother my TV to get fixed. He looked over all of the components of my TV. He said he fixed the issue and he didn't see any other problems. He said that he had a guarantee for the work.

This is kind of long so please bear with me. The original call came in to me on February 23, 2017 by a lady named (Member Name Removed) which turns out to be the mother of the complaint. She said she needed a new TV to be hooked up which I performed I unhooked her 37 inch TV and hooked up a 50 inch or 55 inch that she had sitting on the floor beside it. That was all I was instructed to do. I had quoted her over the phone that it would be $120.00 plus any cables I needed to hook it up and she agreed. After hooking up the new set everything worked fine she agreed that it looked good and wrote me a check for $149.93. The cost of the HDMI cable needed to hookup the new tv and the state sales tax. A couple months after that (Member Name Removed) had called me and said the TV was not working that it would intermittently loseing its picture I told her that I really did not work on LG TVs and she claimed that I charged her for fixing the TV as I explained to her that I never worked on it. Now I am getting a call from her daughter which I have never talked to before, claiming that I charged her mother for work that I did not complete. Again I told the daughter that I did not charge her for a tv repair only a new TV hook up..Soo she still insisted that I fix the TV for free or give her the money back for the original TV hook up. I told her I can't do that and I don't intend to. I do not run a free service business over here. I have been in business for over 40 years and have a double AA rateing with every review company out there. Obviously I am not in the habit of ripping people off. This lady has some type of vendetta and wants to take it out on me I can't help her with her personal problems. She was very rude to me on the phone when I talked to her she made all kinds of threats and said she was going to ruin my reputation. Personally I doubt that. I intend to have no further contact with this person I don't trust her and don't want to get involved with her personal problems. That said, I'm done with this.

Tom Miller was very punctual and arrived at the appointed time as initially specified. He checked all the circuits for the entire home theater system and determined that it was the Monster surge protector that was causing the A/V receiver not to function. Since I also had a redundant surge protector he removed the Monster unit. Tom then continued to calibrate the five speakers and the sub-woofer. He then adjusted the colors on the TV picture and programmed the remote so that I could operate all the components from one remoter rather than using two as I had been doing previously. It should be noted that my entire system was initially setup by a technician from a very large and popular box store. The cost for Tom's time was very reasonable and I consider him to be extremely professional and technically, an expert in the field of stereo and home home theater system repair. Tom's credentials are impeccable and I would recommend Tom Miller for any work or trouble shooting of home theater systems.
Description of Work: Analyzed the problem with my A/V receiver and determined it was the Monster surge protector rather than the receiver. Anticipating the receiver was the problem, from a discussion with another theater repair specialist, I had already purchased a replacement receiver.

It went extremely well. Tom helped me self-diagnose over the telephone to remedy the problem. Most electronic service companies would not give the time Tom did to help me out. Kudos to Tom Miller! I will definitely recommend him to my friends and will call him again if I have another issue with any of my electronic needs. Thank you Tom!

Was not getting any audio from my speakers. Went on Angie's List and called Mr. Miller. He came over the following week to fix the problem. First thing he did was rehooked up the speakers; while doing that he found a blown fuse on one of them. Replaced the antenna to the stereo receiver for AM radio. I then decided to have a 12 ft. stereo cable to run to my TV, so now I can get the sound from the speakers. He had to drill a hole in the back of the cabinet where my TV was located. Very pleased with the service! He was very friendly and professional to work with.
Description of Work: Rehooked up speakers, recabled my TV to the stereo receiver.

. If you had an A+ rating I would have given it to Tom.He was everything you would want for someone to enter and repair something in your home.He was prompt, courteous very helpful and anxious to explain what he was doing and how he was doing it. He was self confident in his abilities to fix the problem He immediately found the source and made the necessary.repairs in less than an hour. Most important to me was that he made my wife feel comfortable with him being in her home. Tom seems to be more satisfied with pleasing a customer than making a profit. .If I ever need another electronic problem solved I would call no one but Tom. I would encourage any one else who has an electronics system problem ,whether it be T.V. , entertainment systems, intercoms etc. to contact Tom.

Tom was on time and very thorough. He fixed the problems with our ATT Uverse cabling, re-installed a sub woofer that we thought had gone bad, programmed our remotes and then fixed a problem with a 25 year old stereo. We couldn't have asked for more.

Very professional, prompt, thorough and very friendly. Mr. Miller really knows his stuff and we are very happy with the end result. Will be having him come back out to install another TV once we have an electrician install an outlet. Highly recommend Mr. Miller for any and all AV or home theater needs.
Description of Work: Fixed sub woofer wire, hooked up game system to home theater system, calibrated speakers and programed controllers. Also assessed where and how to install a TV outside in our patio. Will need electrician before proceeding on that portion.

Professional, savvy and a straight-shooter that is easy to work with. Tom has a good sense of humor and is extremely knowledgeable. He has the right tools and experience to diagnose issues that others simply scratched their head over or were afraid to tackle. Extremely reasonable rates. Soooo happy I found him on Angie's list!

My stereo amplifier, which I have owned for almost 30 years, had stopped transmitting through one speaker. I called Tom Miller Services Co. and spoke to Tom and his wife to schedule service. They generally work with commercial customers; churches, etc. They also work with residential customers to install big-screen TVs and complex home audio systems. My issue wasn't nearly that complicated. My old amp is nothing special, but it had been reliable up to that point, and I had become attached to it. Tom charges the same amount whether you bring the equipment to his shop or if he visits your residence. He likes to see how the equipment is connected in case that is part of the issue. That turned out to be a good thing for me. Tom took about an hour to fix my amp; it turned out to be as simple as too much dust in the workings. He took another hour, upon request, to reconnect my audio and video to where it was more user-friendly and would allow me to run the TV through the stereo. I felt the price was fair because it involved a house call and resulted in the outcome I wanted, with the added benefit of being able to make better use of my stereo system. If you have purchased a home audio system and need help in installing it, I would recommend that you check with Tom Miller.

He came to the house and he had to take the TV back to his shop to order the part and repair it. It all worked out fine. He had the TV back to us in about 2 weeks. He would also call us to keep us informed on what was going on and he delivered the TV back to us. It was a good price. He was very professional and pleasant to work with.

Everything has worked perfectly since he was here. I have used Tom before although it was several years ago and what he did at that time has worked perfectly since.
Description of Work: U-verse had been installed in my home after changing from Comcast. He checked all TV's (4). The number one problem was that they had not turned on HD. He also found that one of the TV's that was HD capable had not had a new HD cord installed even though I had purchased the cord. He set all TV's so that they could be run with only one remote on each set. He gave me instructions on how to turn on each TV and whatever was attached to it. He was here over 2 hrs and worked every minute of that time.

When our TV mysteriously stopped working (wouldn't turn on) Tom came out to take a look at the problem. He was about to adjust some settings and get it to work again that night in our home. About a week after, the TV stopped working again. Tom came back out and took the TV to his shop where it received repairs. The TV was brought back to our home safe and sound and we have had no issues with it working since. Even though his original repair didn't work, there was no way for Tom to have done anything else to it at that time, as it appeared to have a fix. Other companies might have taken it in and charged to replace a bunch of parts that didn't need replacing and charged us more. I believe Tom did a great job meeting our needs and operating his business with integrity and respect for his customers. I would highly recommend him.

Tom arrived on time and did an in-home analysis of my 40" TV. He told me he would need to take the TV to his shop to determine the exact problem, which he did. Before departing he took the time to discussed his thoughts on the possible problems, possible necessary repairs and the alternatives. He also discussed the concept called "green parts", which is the use of new parts, salvaged from new TV's which have been damaged during shipment. These parts are sold at a discount prices to repair shops. Tom explained that these parts have the same 90 day warrantee that the manufacturer supplied parts do. Tom called me approximately three days later and told me the part he purchased did not solve the problem and problem was with the LCD screen, which would have to be replaced. He also so told me that the cost to repair the set would be more expensive than replacing TV. I was impressed with Tom's honesty and the fact that there were no additional charges other then the in-home analysis. I would recommend Tom to anyone requiring TV repairs. As a matter of fact, he is returning today to set-up and hang the new 48" TV I recently purchased.
