I called Danny and described the work I needed done. What I thought would be a tedious job turned out to be an easy task for him. He came to my house the same day I called and got the work done. He even offered suggestions on some preventative changes that I could do to save money in the long run. I will hire him again.

Danny is absolutely the best! He worked after hours to get my job done and did a thorough job. He was very professional and efficient. He explained everything he found and repaired. His pricing is extremely fair. I can't recommend him highly enough!

Danny returned my my call within a couple of hours, and came out the next morning. He methodically diagnosed the trouble. He tightened all the wires on all the sockets on the kitchen backsplash. He replaced one outlet with a GFCI socket and replaced one circuit breaker switch which had burned contacts. At my request he inspected all the other circuit breaker switches and found them all in good shape. That was reassuring because my house is 45 years old, and I had seen a lot of stories about circuit breaker boxes that need to be replaced. He also checked and repaired a bedroom ceiling light which flashes occasionally.

Perfect. Feel like I have new home.

I am a retired Architect who primarily designed "high end" Jewelry Stores & Fashion boutiques throughout the country, consequently, I was exposed to some very sophisticated lighting & control systems. Being a professional in the business for over forty years I usually kid contractors that I'm their "worst nightmare"(Not true!). But in reality, I'm sympathetic to their needs & frustrations when dealing with the general public, as long as they perform in a professional manner! Our problem consisted of a suspended low voltage light track system that had 7-8 years of dust accumulation; the components required cleaning. Tuesday, Jan 17, found us cleaning the various parts. Somehow, during cleaning, we created an electrical arc and the system would not work. After reviewing Electrical Contractors in Angie's List, especially the March 30,2016 review, I called Danny Hixon on his cell. I discovered he was in a doctors office for a respiratory problem(He sounded terrible). No matter, he asked I email him my info....he'd get back with me. I did this also requesting insurance info. This morning, Jan 19, he emailed all his info and the insurance information. Later this morning he called indicating he'd like to "come over and fix our problem". He said "I'll be there a little after noon". At 12:15pm he knocked on our door with Jose Torres. Together they methodically began to work through the problem. First verifying the 3-way switches, then the transformers in the attic, and finally, the light stems which supported the suspended light bar & track heads. First indications pointed to a component replacement. I explained this would require a lot of effort on my part as well as requiring they come back at a later date to install the replacement. Kiddingly I said "Couldn't we just put a penny in it?" They weren't amused. The damage caused by the elec. arc needed to be remove. After my persistence Danny suggested we file the damaged area. I provided them with an finger nail file with which Jose spent the next five minutes cleaning the corroded areas. He was able to eradicate the effects caused by the electrical arc in one of the stems. The suspended light track now works perfectly. Both men,Messrs. Hixon & Torres, were gentlemen, a pleasure to work with, true professionals...a credit to their industry.

Danny was thorough in assessing the circuits where a built in large microwave was connected and explained what was causing the issue. He went above and beyond by checking with the city regarding if the built in was done within code (it was) and instead of proposing an expensive fix that would damage an aesthetic wall, he proposed a more pragmatic solution. He also changed the clamp on an outside connection and was able to perform a diagnostic grounding test with an expensive measurement tool that few electricians carry. He did great work, was on time, polite, to the point, and delivered a pragmatic fix. I will certainly use Danny again.

They were quick and did the job quickly at a reasonable price.

He asked questions about the job over the phone (type of chandelier, # crystals, assembly required, current chain length) and the recessed cans regarding ladder placement, furniture, etc. Very thoughtful questions. I asked his advice on bulbs and requested lighting stores I could shop to match the chandelier chain. We worked our calendars to schedule a date, about a week from first contact. After I went to the lighting store, I phoned Danny to ask his opinion of the auto timers for rocker switches that I had seen while there. He provided his opinion and I did more research. I appreciated his availability to discuss options with me over the phone. I also informed him I had all the parts / bulbs needed for the job with the matching chandelier chain. Upon arrival, he and his helper reviewed the job and set to work. He started with the crated chandelier. Due to extra work that had to be done to hang it at the height I wanted, this fixture was going to take more time. After working with the chandelier, he came to me and advised it was going to increase the $ on the job and asked if I wanted to continue. He quoted the new price and said he understood if I did not want him to proceed. I asked him to continue, but I appreciated the clear way he communicates. He said he does that with all his customers as he does not want hard feelings. The other chandelier was no problem. The recessed cans were difficult to reach, and they carefully placed the extension ladder and worked together to make certain my floors and walls were not damaged. They were in my home over 4 hours. I highly recommend Thor Enterprises, and before Danny left I showed him two more chandeliers (at 18') that I am interested in replacing in the future. I asked Danny if he can do those, and he can. I have found my electrician in the Houston area. Great service, very professional, careful and takes time to explain things to you.

I think they were a little pricey. I think it took several calls for them to get back to us. I'm never gonna give anyone an A yet because we're new to the area so we didn't do a lot of shopping around.

I called Thor Enterprises and left a voice mail message at their main number(which it says to do, and they will return your calling quickly). My call was returned within five minutes by Danny Hixon. I told him we had been having flickering lights several times a day for about three weeks and also that a particular breaker had tripped on us twice with no obvious cause. Danny was concerned that we could possibly have a serious situation called a floating neutral, that could be damaging to all of the appliances in our home if that was the cause. He offered us the option of calling CenterPoint Energy first, but said he could be at our house within the hour if we wanted him to come out. We decided we would use Thor because if CenterPoint identified certain kinds of problems, we would still have to call a private electrician. Danny performed a full breaker panel check and grounding system check and fortunately all was good. He tightened a loose connection in the panel which may or may not contribute to the issues we were having. I was very impressed with Danny. He was courteous, experienced and was extremely patient and willing to explain each step he was taking and what the situation was. Fortunately, we did not have a "floating neutral" situation which he determined very quickly, and so then he addressed the breaker tripping cause. Since there are several possible causes, he approached it in a step-wise fashion to troubleshoot, explaining all along what he was doing. He switched the wiring of two of the breakers so we can see if the cause lies in the physical location of the room that was getting the blackout or if the cause is in another part of the house. He could have performed other tests to determine the cause but they would have been premature and cost us more money. My husband and I are very pleased with his methodical approach. He even called the next day to check on us. So far, we have had no other issues, but if we do he said he would come out immediately and take the next step which would include checking for loose wiring in all of the outlets of our master bedroom. He did not try to sell us unnecessary services or products and simply concentrated on the issue at hand. Danny was wonderful!! He seems like a straight shooter and extremely knowledgeable. Since the flickering lights (which is not happening anymore) could be a separate issue from the breaker tripping, he encouraged us to ask our neighbors if they were experiencing problems with flickering lights and then to call CenterPoint to check it out if it continues. If you like to work with providers who are courteous, experienced, and clear in their communication, I highly recommend Danny with Thor Enterprises. He really did his best to take care of our needs!

Great. the work was done in an afternoon.

This review is actually for two calls. First time out Danny & Co at Thor for at non-working outdoor plug. They replaced the plug promptly at a decent price initially. about 7 months later the plug went bad again. Today they came back and replaced it for free since the part had a 1 year warranty. DIDN'T EVEN CHARGE ME FOR A SERVICE CALL FOR THE 2ND TRIP 7 MONTHS LATER.

Danny, the owner, is an honest and friendly man. His prices are reasonable and he does great work!

Danny's guys were right on time and were done within 30 minutes.

Danny came out the day I called and provided a bid for the job. The bid scope was increased to install GFCI protection for the garage and an additional outlet for garage door opener. He indicated that, while we could probably get a handyman to do the minimal amount of work more cheaply, if he touched it would need to be done to code, thus requiring the increased scope and cost reflected in his bid. Once we accepted the bid, he was able to schedule the work the following day. He and his co-worker arrived on time and completed the work in under 2 hours. Job well done -- on time and on budget.

Danny and his crew did excellent job with the electrical work. They were polite, professional, efficient and very conscientious about their work quality. They carefully clean up the working area when the installations were completed.

Couldn't have gone better. Called, left a message and was called back quickly. They were at my house about 2 hours after the 1st call. Said they were in the area and could the come by. Job was done quickly, safely, and I now have a perfectly working setup for my dryer.

Danny called me within minutes of my calling him for service to my home on Thursday. The very next day he called and said he would be here within the hour. He and his helper showed up on time. I told him everything that was wrong in the house and the garage. He immediately went to work checking all the outlets and wiring everywhere. He found problems that I didn't even know about. At one point it was necessary for him to purchase some parts so he made the trip to the store.They were here a total of four hours and my husband and I were so worried about the cost. When he presented the bill we were shocked! The cost was so minimal. I now have no problems with my electricity and am so happy that I called this company. If you want a good experience and satisfaction then you should call them too. You won't be sorry.

Danny came out late on a Saturday evening, in the thunder storm and looked the house over. Determined the cause was a surge, and helped us identify all of the items that no longer worked. He also replaced to of the CGFI boxes that had fried and gave us some great advice. Our son also wouldn't leave "Mr. Danny" alone but Danny was great with him and not bothered by him or the pets. Great guy and would absolutely call him the next time we need any electrical work.

We developed a short in one of the living room circuits. The staples used to secure the wires to the studs worked its way through the insulation. It took a little time to find the short and pull the wire (it was really stapled down)! Afterwards, they replaced the sheetrock and cleaned up the dust. They also connected a light kit to our ceiling fan.

Told us yesterday he would come early this morning, possibly as early as 8:00 AM. It is now 5:30 PM. He did not even give us the courtesy of a phone call to tell us he was not coming. Check out other instances of his failure to show up without informing the customer. People like this think their time is more valuable than yours.

I am sorry I did not contact Danny before I hired the uncle of a friend, to have the electrical work job at my home I was repairing. Lesson learned there. When I saw a problem with the work of the other electrician, a light fixture fitted with mismatched bulbs that looked like broken teeth when you turned it on, I got Thor Electric from Angie's List and gave them a call. Danny was at my house and inspecting the work that day. He was able to show me what was done in error, what needed to be done to fix it, and was plain about what he'd be charging. He could not have been nicer. He, his son and two employees were working on my house the next day. They wrapped up in under 2 days, including addressing prior mistakes. His competence along with his honest, frank demeanor is refreshing. I received a final invoice from my fired electrician and phoned Danny, since much of it appeared to be an effort to collect on a job not finished and not well done, and for items already paid. On his own time he helped me sift through the invoices, receipts and wrote up a report of what he'd done and what needed to be repaired so I have recourse against the other electrician and can report him to the licensing agency for his business practices. He even brought a delicious breakfast when he came to help me. He is actually that kind. Danny and his crew are efficient, diligent, work hard and solved all of my electrical issues. Because I was so delighted and they were already there, we asked for outdoor safety lights, which they ran lines for and installed, after consulting with me and showing me examples of options. I am blown away that there are people like this in the world, and feel incredibly lucky to now know this fine, upstanding man.
