The electrical plug that my microwave was connected to kept blowing, I thought it was the electrical plug itself, so I called Danny to come out and check it and change it if need be. He checked it and found that the plug was fine, that it was the microwave itself that had the electrical problem. He does not fix microwaves (it was under warranty still anyway) but it was a good thing I called him since it could have caused a fire. While he was at my house he also fixed another outlet that was not working and that my husband and father could not fix. He came out on a sat. evening for no extra charge and was prompt and very professional and courteous. I think his price was more than fair and I would definately use him again and recommend him to all my friends.

I cannot say overstate how pleased I am with the work and the price. I called well over a dozen electricians on Angie's List and was alternately told that the job was too much of headache to take on or was quoted prices that were double what Thor Enterprises charged me. The other electricians who quoted me crazy prices for the job didn't bother coming by my house, which is never a good sign. When I called Thor Enterprises, Danny agreed to come out and look at our house but made no promises until he checked everything out. Danny was honest about the various possible outcomes and costs associated with our unique situation but insisted that he'd try to keep the costs down if possible--something he actually did. Throughout the whole process he kept me apprised of the work and our standing with the city. Our house is now safely wired and passed inspection. Danny and his crew were quick and efficient. The price was very fair for the work and headaches involved. We won't use anyone else for future electrical work.

Danny was very professional and friendly and easy to work with. He listened to our concerns and was diligent at trying to track down a sporadic problem with one of our switches. On the second trip, he built a platform in the attic to support the ladder so he could wire up the attic fan. He said that if we noticed after a few days the fan was running too much or not enough, to call him and he would come back to adjust it for free. It was running all the time, even when it was very cool. We called and he came within a week, when he had another job in the area. He reset the temperature setting, didn't charge us for the trip, and refused to take a tip, since he said he'd do it for free.

I was very happy with them. They gave me a good price and did good work. He was very professional and did everything that I wanted. He was on time and very knowledgeable.

Danny did great work and was very professional. He is not the cheapest and makes no apology regarding his rates. However his quote was reasonable, considering his high Angie's List ratings and my neighbor's recommendation. He is very flexible in scheduling and began the job on a weekday evening, this is great, since I did not have to take a day off work.

This is my second experience with Thor, and they are simply one of the best service providers I have seen. They went way out of their way to make a New Year's Eve service call at the end of the day (with a same-day call). It was done with the utmost of courtesy and professionalism. For the second time, the repair was made immediately and at a very honest cost (especially on NYE). They're the best, and I am going to use them to do a bigger job I have coming up based on the expertise and professionalism displayed on the last two visits. Use Thor.

Bid was done promptly and job was started as promised. Contractor was good at keeping me informed at all points from bidding through final inspection.

The job went just great. Danny is a pleasure to work with; he's diligent and conscientious. I am a single woman and often worry I'm going to be taken advantage of by contractors. He called to confirm the appointment and he has not shown up at all today. My husband took the day off of work and now he has not shown up at all to do the work. No response to all of the numbers we have for him. There is not a live voice to talk to anywhere and he gave us 3 different numbers to contact him. The grades are for the estimate only.

Awesome experience. Other providers had a two day wait. They came the same day. I wasn't home when they came, but my wife was. Imagine my delight when she called and said the electricity was on and the cost of the repair was only $50! I very much appreciate the honesty and service. Thank you very much.

This was a costly, huge residential re-wiring job of a 1970-era 2,524 SF house with all aluminum wiring to all copper connections so the wiring now meets all current electrical codes and avoids any electrical issues associated with selling the house in today's competitive market. Owner and proprietor Danny Hixon was knowledgeable, honest, and straight-forward about educating us and explaining various options as to the job scope and exactly how the work could be done. Danny and his subcontractors (all licensed electricians) were a pleasure to work with and very professional throughout the many weeks needed to complete the work. The initial price quote was based on a flat-rate price for replacing plugs, switches, light fixtures, replacing or installing new ceiling fans with light kits, hanging and recessed light fixtures, inside and out, which made it easy to verify the final invoice. A few unexpected "hiccups" developed, but were all handled in stride after consultation and I was very pleased with the areas where Danny took initiative and came up with a better result than we first discussed. I would rate the quality of work as beyond expectations, particularly in the neatness of the installations; the 1-year, transferable warranty; and the cleanup afterwards. Despite the cost, I felt we got quality work and very good value for our money. Later, when two outside motion detecting flood lights were found not to be working properly Danny a made a special trip to the house to determine the source of the problem. He fixed it within one week of the original call back. He is honoring his one year warranty.

I called him and he said he was getting ready to leave town but he said he would come right out. He looked at the problem and said if he could run down to the hardware store he could fix it. He ran down and brought back a $3.00 part and it fixed the problem with the inside lights. He did not charge for this call and I will be having him come back for the outside work. The other company tried to charge me $10,000.00 for the work.

In addition to the new outlets, he installed a new fusebox and repaired some wiring. His prices are fair, he's very knowledgeable and he has a way about him that's very refreshing.

He does excellent work. He is professional, polite, and courteous. He cleans up any messes he makes and I appreciate that. He is also very knowledgeable and he explains to me what he is doing.

I've been a member of Angie's List for 2 years and have been very pleased with the service until the last contractor. I called Thor Enterprises and spoke with Danny Hixon. I explained to him that one circuit of the house (2 rooms and various wall outlets) were blinking intermittently. Upon his arrival I showed him the lights in the 2 rooms and after checking the breaker box he immediately wanted to remove the electrical meter and check the main wires to the house. I expressed my hesitance on checking the meter because the symptoms did not warrant that. An example would be checking the alternator on a car to fix a burned out tail light. It can't hurt but since you are paying for it does it really need to be done? If the whole house were having dimming and flickering lights then yes, but my home had problems in one circuit only and since the circuit breaker had been changed the day before I told him the problem was most likely in one of the connections in the circuit. He insisted that removing the meter and tightening the main wire connections fixed 80-95% of the homes he worked on. I knew this was just a way of inflating the bill but my choices were call another electrician and wait or trust in Angie's List A rating for the company. He charged me $175.00 to pull the meter and snug the main wires. I asked him "what if this did not fix the problem" and he again insisted that this fixes practically all homes. After 20 minutes he finished working on the meter and started to pack up and said he was confidant that everything was now OK. I insisted we check the problem circuit again (before he left) and it was as bad as ever. Everything he had done had fixed nothing and it was then he was forced to check what I had repeatedly requested from the start - the problem circuit. After 45 minutes he discovered the loose connection and repaired it. The circuit was fixed. Summation: 1.) From the start, work was done needlessly to inflate the bill. 2.) no attempt was made to check whether the work performed fixed the problem (until made to by customer). 3.) I rate this job as a D only because the problem was fixed (after the issue was forced).

Dan responded immediately after we called, came out to give us a quote the next day and did the work the following day. His crew was great, they did a wonderful job and were very polite. He finished on time and charged me less because he was able to complete the job without having to do everything he estimated.

Danny was in and out within a couple hours of my initial phone call. He pleasantly honored his warranty. (The original surge protecting unit functioned as designed; my house apparently experiences surges at a much higher than normal rate.) I feel confident that having this extra level of surge protection on my house has (and continues) saved the household from having to replace numerous electronic appliances and machines!

Although there were some hiccups along the way, Danny stayed until the job was done and done right. He was scheduled to come around 8 in the morning but called to sat he would have to change that to around 1. By 2 I had not heard from him and called. He was still stuck on another job and said he would be there by 5. He called as he left his job to say he was on his way. I was slightly annoyed that my 8 a.m. apt. ended up being a 5p.m. visit but I felt he handled it well and we all have our off days.

I asked for an early appt on my day off. He showed up early (which was perfect for me) and completed the work in 45 minutes. It was an easy job, but I was happy to have a qualified professional complete it for me at a very reasonable price. He even cleaned up old caulking around the old fixture that I didn't consider part of the work, but appreciated.
