Went very well. Mr. Dixon was not able to perform the job himself because he was in the hospital. However, because I was using an unknown brand of surge protector he took the time to call the company and verify a few specifications with them before his workers installed it. They did a good job intalling the electrical housing.

All equipment & tools on their truck inclusive of multiplereplacement parts. I'd hire these dudes again. Pricey but they were quick, responsive and professional.

Another electrician installed a smoke alarm in a garage apartment under construction. When it started going off late on a Sunday night, I tried a variety of resources, including the company that installed it, and none answered the phone or had a technician/electrician who could help. Danny returned my call within 30 minutes, talked me through the steps to troubleshoot, and then refused to send me a bill for his services. He was calm, easy to understand, and explained (correctly, as I knew from previous research) why it was a mistake to install the alarm at this point in the construction. I am so thankful that I am filing my first Angie's List report. I will definitely call him when I need an electrician again.

Overall the project went well. He came back with his two workers, explained the job and left. This was fine for our simple job. The two employees were excellent. The only reason that I gave a B on quality was when drilling through the brick, a piece broke off. It was sealed up by them to ensure that it does not leak and it is not visible from outside but maybe drilling slower would have prevented this. Everything works great and the job was completed as estimated. I have no complaints. I will hire them next time for sure!

Danny Hixson trouble shot the system right away. He realized that it required more help because of the probable location of the problem, so we agreed to continue on Monday. He had an early appointment with another customer for first thing Monday, but Danny called him and got him to let us go first. The work was done super fast and very professionally! I have already recommended him to a friend and Danny has provided a very high level of service to them also. Would recommend Thor Enterprises to everyone!

Danny came by the same day that I called. He is thorough and efficient and pleasant. It's nice to watch a pro at work isn't it? I will certainly call him when it's time to put in a new house grounding wire and reattach the meter. It is such a relief when you find a contractor that you feel will be trustworthy and do a great job to boot. So it's no more nail biting for me when we need electrical work done - I know who to call. He's great! Now if I only can feel the same way about auto mechanics....

We were very pleased with Danny's work. The quote was accepted on a Friday and Steve and a crew came out on Saturday the 14th to begin work. They dug the trench for the conduit and all the rest of the work was done on Sunday the 15th. The main box was mounted to the house correctly and much better than the old box had been. The new grounding pole is a ten foot pole so it exceeds the code of eight feet buried. The new box in the garage was done expertly and all the conduit in the garage to the outlets is metal and routed fine. The garage door opener now has a dedicated outlet as it should have had from the beginning. Also, they remounted the meter box as it was crooked on the house and put new conduit up between it and the circuit breaker box. The Monday following the installation, I was doing some minor wiring of new switches and when I went to flip the circuit breaker back on, it popped and wouldn't reset. I called Danny and told him what had happened and that it was surely my fault for wiring something incorrectly. He was at the house within an hour and said the circuit breaker was faulty because it should have reset after popping. He replaced it for no charge...so consider this as payment. I've used electricians in the past who promise great things and then don't, completely, deliver. Danny is not one of those electricians. Everything he quoted, he did. He and his crew were on time, friendly, professional and everything was done as promised. I expected to have to pay for the blown circuit breaker because it was my fault it blew. Danny didn't charge for it and he came from a job site on the other side of town as soon as he completed it to address my issue. Would we use Thor Enterprises again? Yes, and we will be in the near future for some wiring we want done at our home. We feel the price quoted was fair; it wasn't the cheapest bid we received, but it was the most detailed as far as telling us the quality of the parts that would be used and the way the company does business. It's nice to meet people who do things the old fashioned way and stand behind their work and ensure their word is their bond. If you need electrical work done around your house, we would suggest giving Danny and Thor Enterprises the opportunity to EARN your business. He may not be the cheapest, but cheap work is not what one is searching for when dealing with the wiring of your house...at least it isn't what we look for in an electrician. His work is quality work and for our money, we feel it is worth the price.

The service was great! The electrician showed up just before the scheduled time, ready to work. He quickly began working on my fuse box and found a few minor issues there. After not finding anything too significant there, he went out to work on the area where the meter is located. He found some loose connections there, but more importantly, he discovered that the meters are crossed and that I have been paying somebody else's bill. He marked up the wiring so that it is clear which wiring goes to which house, and hopefully it will help CenterPoint when they come out to investigate this themselves. Finally, the electrician made sure to thoroughly document his findings on the invoice he provided to me in case I need it to get any refund from my electrical provider. Thor was punctual, friendly, thorough, and figured out my problem. Thank you!

Our old ceiling fan had stopped working. It was one of those complex radio controlled models, with more options than we really needed. When it stopped, I thought that something was wrong with the power switch. Danny (who is the owner of Thor Enterprises) came over the next day and determined that it needed to be replaced. He took the older fan down and disposed of it. There was no charge for that day. As soon as I got a new fan he came back and installed it. However, the store where I got the fan gave me the wrong wall switch. Danny fixed the older switch so that the fan would work that weekend. After I got the right switch Danny came back for that installation. Everything was done quickly and well. The bedroom was completely cleaned up afterwards. You couldn't even tell that workers had been there.

I hired Danny to install a "whole house" surge protector, and do a variety of small electrical projects. I like to watch workers and ask questions, and both Danny and his assistant were accommodating and pleasant throughout. They inspected our electrical panel, tightened up the connections, explained why the connections were loose and how often to have the panel inspected, installed a new ground wire connector, and had the surge protector installed in about an hour. They installed a variety of different outlets and a dimmer switch, all relatively quickly and without commotion. I wanted a GFCI plug installed in a bathroom, but Danny explained how the entire room was protected by the one GFCI already installed, and said I didn't need the other one. I also wanted another outlet installed in that same room to be near a dressing table for a lighted mirror, hair dryer, etc. I assumed this would be "quick work." But, based on the anticipated use, it would have required its own circuit, and given the room location on the opposite side of the house from the panel, it would have involved a complicated and time-consuming wiring process. Danny explained all this and ultimately recommended against it because of the expense for just one outlet. We also had a recessed spotlight in a bathroom that was burnt out, but I could never get the bulb out. They removed the fixture, and ultimately had to break the bulb to remove it. The one I had on hand did not work, and they did not have a replacement on the truck. Due to other business it took them two days to return with a bulb, but they came back on my schedule, re-assembled everything, and only then asked to be paid.

I called owner Danny Hixon one afternoon and he came out the next morning. I had called him to install a digital timer to control three exterior garage security lights but, when he heard what I was trying to achieve, he suggested that a photocell would be more reliable. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and professional, and answered all of my questions. He ran the necessary wiring and installed the photocell. He also checked my interior garage light to make sure that the ballast was in good condition. Finally, I had purchased new safety beam sensors for my garage door opener, but had been unable to get them to work. Danny installed them, but also was unable to get them to work, but referred me to a very knowledgeable and helpful garage door repairman. I gave him a "B" on price not because I think his price was unfair but because I don't have a reference point for pricing the job.

WIfe called in afternopon of day of service. He came by at about 8PM after finishing another job and diagnosed and finished the service in about 1 hour. Execllent job. Very happy with service.

The existing ceiling fan's base was smaller than the new one so I had Danny swap the one in the back bedroom with the new one, which was something that I hadn't anticipated. Danny cheerfully accomplished this and installed the new fans. The loose outlets did not need replacing just tightening and straightening, which was done. The light in the hallway was evidently wired very strangely but Danny treated it as an "electrical mystery" to be solved and spent probably an hour figuring out the convoluted connections and got the light to work. I have to say, his and his assistant's demeanor was absolutely "can do" and cheerful. I would use him again and would highly recommend him to anyone needing any kind of electrical problem fixed.

I was experiencing some weird appliance failures in my house which lead me to believe I may have had an issue with the electrical system. Two technicians from Thor Enterprises came out to my house, conducted tests, and determined the issue was with fluctuating voltage on Centerpoint's end. I was pleasantly surprised that Thor Enterprises did not charge for the service call. The owner also called me shortly after his techs left to make sure I understood my next steps in contacting Centerpoint and to make sure I was satisfied. That was a nice touch.

Our breakers kept flipping so we called Thor. They came out the same day (on a Sunday!) diagnosed the problem and fixed it within an hour. It turns out the previous owner had connected the hot wire to the ground wire.

Our underground cable had been clipped most likely when we had some foundation work done a month prior. Danny at Thor Enterprise responded to our phone call fairly quickly and came out to look at the house in a timely manner. There were some communication issues. For example, since we couldn't be home when they were done we asked for a phone call to let us know the work had been completed. I waited for a few days and finally called them and found out the work had been completed. Since we thought that the foundation company was at fault for clipping the underground wire, we asked Thor to let us know when they were going to dig so we could get the foundation company to come out and inspect it. They forgot that I asked for that but they did send someone out the next day to dig and show the original wire again. (We weren't able to prove the foundation company was at fault because of a dumb fix the previous owner did.) Thor didn't tell us that they don't accept credit cards until after the work was done but Danny was extremely flexible in making a payment plan for us. (You kind of have to be if you're not going to accept credit cards, right?). So the communication was a little iffy but customer service and quality of work more than made up for it. We will use them again.

A friend was supposed to schedule an electrician friend of his to install the outlet but didn't show up. I needed it installed before Best Buy was scheduled to come in. I called Thor with an emergency situation the same day and they showed up right on time. They knew what was needed for the big screen TV and easily tapped from another outlet. They were very quick and neat. They (two guys) told me what to expect during the installation of my TV. They were very helpful and I was grateful to have them install it on short notice. They were also very honest. A previous estimate I received to perform electrical work in prep for the big screen TV was several hundred dollars more expensive. I forgot to log this report last year. I will definitely use them again and will recommend to friends.

They did a good job. They made the work nice and neat. They did not try to sell me things I did not need. They were prompt and professional.

It went very well. He took a few days to respond to email (hence the responsiveness) but once he got to it, he called me promptly. I explained the problem -- and he knew exactly the situation I was describing re: the lights (where the other electrician had blown me off, and told me I needed to replace the entire dryer circuit). He was able to come out to my house very early, so I could actually make it to work on time. He tightened the grounding cables to fix the floating neutral problem, and then went to work on the dryer. He had to leave to get a bonding cable for the dryer, because he did not have one, but was back as promptly as is possible, and had it fixed not ten minutes later. He was very pleasant and professional, and I am very pleased with his work.

My X-mas lights stopped working, then discovered that all the outside outlets wouldn't work. Called Danny left a message- he called me back within the hour. I told him the problem and he asked that I go to the garage, look for an outlet with a button, then push that button. The lights were back, I didn't have to wait for him to come by, he didn't charge me, my husband was impressed and I couldn't help but giggle I was so happy. I will be calling Danny for all my electrical needs and recommending him to everyone. No one can be that helpful, honest and occasionally free, without being very good at what they do.

I received a call back within a few hours the same day I called for an estimate. They were here the very next day, in the early afternoon, and they were in and out within an hour. Excellent from start to finish.

very well. Told me how much each would cost before he started up, it cost a little less than quoted. Had to go to lowes for a light switch and the outdoor electrical boxes, but other than that had all he needed to do the job.
