Mr. Hixson returned my initial call promptly. He returned my call two days later (over the weekend), and was able to come by immediately to look at the problem. Once he explained the problem the fix went quickly. So ... overall it went well.

Let me begin by saying I am getting a smart meter. I wanted to have my electrical panel and wiring checked out so there would be no problems. I had already called an electric company out and received an estimate. They told me I needed a whole new box , new wiring and a ground rod and wiring. That everything I had was out of code. The estimate they gave me was 2600.00!!! So, when Mr. Hixon came out and showed me everything and explained everythng to me and said that all I needed was basic maintenance and a new ground rod and wiring and he could do it for 430.00 I almost lost my breath to think I almost paid 2,600.00 for something I didn't really need. I can't say enough good things about this company. It is good to know that there are still some honest people in this world. What a rare find in this day and age.

They are very good. They charged about $150 for the job. The earlier electrician had not done the work correctly. I actually did not think it could be corrected, but they did. They did a good job. They were very friendly, honest, and genuinely very nice. They did the work quickly and they stayed within the quote. Their price was the best. I felt their price was very fair compared to the other companies I had used. I would use them again in the future.

After calling 2 other electricians on Angie's List about installing a gorunding rod so my Uverser service would work correctly, I went with Danny at Thor because his price was less, plus he had taken the time to tell me everything he would do and that he installs a 10' rod rather than the usual 8' rod. He and his son came out the same day! which surprised me. He did some addtional work securing my breaker box to the house, reinstalling a breaker that had been installed a few years earler by another electrician, checking my outlets to be sure they were all grounded correctly. They were extremely professional, informative and very price competitive. I will defintely use him again and have given his card to all my neighbors.

They were amazing. I called and left a voicemail. He called me back in 30 seconds. They exceded all my expectations, and also had a very good price.

I called Saturday morning wanting an electrician to open the fuse box so that I could get a part number on an old circuit breaker and go get the circuit breaker myself (to save money) before having someone install it. Danny happened to be working right around the corner and was over in minutes. He looked at the situation, confirmed that the circuit breaker I needed was no longer made and proposed an alternate solution. That's what I like, someone who immediately looks for creative solutions when the obvious one is not feasible. Danny left for a little while to go get the parts he needed. He returned shortly thereafter and installed what he needed to to make things work. In the mean time he tested everything and provided some much needed maintenance, tightening all the screws he could get to. Had he not done that I would certainly be shopping for a new fuse box in the near future to the tune of several thousand dollars.....He also suggested a new grounding rod. My old one was nearly burried in concrete when the patio was poured and not situated in a way that allowed it to be cleaned or checked. He returned later in the day with a crew that installed that as well. All I wanted was to get a model number off of a fuse and instead I had all my issues resolved easily and on a Saturday. I'm sure that there are cheaper electricians around but Danny is careful, fair and wants to do quality work. He does not seem to be one that cheaps out on the equipment or tries to sell you more than you need. I was impressed.

I called two or three weeks prior to the job to line up an estimate. I told Danny what all needed to be done, but he was unable to come out right away due to a family emergency. I talked to him a couple more times befor he came out for the estimate. It seems he did not have the information written, because I had to remind him each time what the job entailed. The original job was to install the recessed lights, install ONE chandelier, and do the rewiring in the bathroom. When Danny did come out for the estimate, he quoted $300. Two of his employees came out to do the job. They did each job with care, and I was very pleased with the results. When they called Danny to find out how much to charge, he said $350. I was perplexed at the disparity. I turns out Danny had forgotten about the chandelier install. We were at a bit of a standstill, then Danny agreed to go with the original quote, wanting to have a happy customer. I appreciated this a lot. I also asked if the guys had time to install a second chandelier, and they were able to do it. They charged an additional $75 for it. Overall, I was pleased with the experience.

I was extremely happy with the service I received from Thor. I have had more trouble finding a good electrician than any other trade, but I have finally found my guys. The team of three showed up on time. They were highly competent and got right to work with the various electrical issues that had been piling up in my older home. The circuit troubleshooting issue was particularly tricky, and I had several trips from other electricians come that didn't help me (though they charged me anyway). They were able to effectively identify the problem (a loose connection in a junction box in the attic) and fix it without issue. They even ran a couple of new phone lines for me, even though they don't generally do telephone work. The price was very fair, and they left with everything completed and a very satisfied customer!

They did a good job. They did everything they needed to do to get the job fixed. We are thoroughly happy with the job. They are honest, good, and hardworking crew.

Danny and his crew were great. Danny was very helpful with advice on our initial meeting. He came over for a second time to help make sure we had everything for our ceiling fans. The work was done correctly.

They were very good, acceptable, and prompt. Their price was reasonable. I would use them again in the future too.

Danny was great. We have replaced 5 ballasts in the kitchen in the past 2 years. Our ground rod was 15 years old and we have power surges with some regularity so I believe the problem was identified and corrected and our home is protected properly for the first time in 15 years. Danny gave us information to make a wise choice without any hard sell or use of fear tactics.

Danny was very responsive and called right back with reasonable quotes. He did show up late, which was a problem as he agreed to be there at 8 to allow me to meet a client later in the day. They did a pretty good job, but took longer than expected, making me late for my appointment and then didn't remember how much the job was quoted. We clarified the amount and settled. Danny called that evening to talk about how the job looked, but we had not looked at the job together yet.

It went well overall. Danny was prompt both times he came.

Unbelievable!!! Crew arrived within 30 minutes of my first call and completed the job within another 30 minutes! They were courteous and professional. How can it get any better than that?

I initially contacted Thor Electric when I discovered that an exterior light fixture that I was replacing had no junction box. I contacted them on a Friday and they weren't able to get out that day, and I made it clear that there was no big rush, so an appointment for Monday was scheduled. Steven and his assistant Orlando arrived a little late Monday morning, but that was ok since I overslept that morning and was running behind. They were both professional and courteous, and as soon as they got here, they got right to work. Steven advised that installing the junction box would mean that the light fixture wouldn't sit exactly flush with the wall but I let him know that I was fine with that - safety first. While Steven worked, I talked to him about the electrical issues raised in the inspection report done three years ago when I bought the house. While I pulled up the inspection report on the computer, he walked around back to inspect my meter box and ground rod. He was back within a couple of minutes and reported that my ground rod wasn't even hooked up (grounded), and in fact, had rusted so badly that it was broken off at about the 2 foot mark (I believe Steven said that a ground rod should be at least 8 feet long to be up to code.) The poor condition of the ground rod was mentioned in the report (although he hadn't seen it yet); in fact, he observed and reported on everything that was mentioned in the report by our inspector. Steven advised me that if my house were to be hit by lightning while it wasn't grounded, I had a very good chance of losing every electrical gadget and appliance that was plugged in, so I went ahead and authorized them to install a new ground rod and hook it up. After Steven read the inspection report and took a look at the issues, he put in a call to the owner Danny, then he and Orlando installed a new 10 ft. ground rod. Danny arrived within 10 minutes to perform another inspection so that he could give me an estimate for the work that needed to be done. I had contacted a highly rated electrician from Angie's List when I first received my inspection report; his estimate was around $5000. To do the same work, Danny quoted me just under $2000, although he advised me that about $1800 of that wasn't necessary but more of a personal preference (upgrading my breaker box from 125 amps to 200 amps.) In summary, I was very impressed with the entire team's thoroughness, knowledge, and professionalism. I really appreciated the way they went over the entire report and advised which changes should be made due to safety or performance issues, and which changes wouldn't impact safety or performance and were therefore unnecessary. I also very much appreciated that they didn't try to pressure me to get the non-urgent additional repairs done that day and understood that I needed to budget for them. I will definitely be calling them back to perform the additional repairs!

We got a prompt result from the contractor. He came out and gave us an estimate and let us know what we could expect as to holes in the ceiling, etc. He was friendly and informative. The work was done when he said it would be and we were very satisfied with the work

Perfect job! Quick - had all the equipment - trucks were clean & organized and this was reflected in their work.

I contacted them, and they called back after a brief delay. The owner said that he would be able to come later that evening if that worked for my schedule instead of choosing another day. They were a few minutes late due to another job running over, but they worked quickly and had things completed within an hour. All in all a good experience. My only concern related to them not cleaning up the drywall dust that fell onto the granite countertop, but I needed to install the new fixtures (my choice), patch the drywall, sand and paint, so I would have had to clean up anyway.

Although the meeting to give an estimate was quick, the follow up was slow and our first scheduled time for the work to be performed was cancelled and the second meeting was cancelled two hours after they were supposed to show up. I wasted my afternoon waiting and I had specifically requested a courtesy call if there was going to be any delay in arriving on time.

They did a very good job and we are very pleased.

One day our cooktop failed with a flash. I called GE Repair, they showed up a few days later. Repairman checked out the stove, found no fault, said the problem was in the electrical feed to the unit. I found Thor Ent. on Angie's List, called, and they came right over. They tracked the problem to the circuit breaker, replaced it with a newer, better one. Problem solved.

My recessed kitchen light over my sink had a loose wire so I couldn't use it. I also had 3 eletrical outlets that were so loose that appliance plugs kept falling out! Called Danny and he set up an appt to come out. Friendly, helpful and gave me a tentative bid over the phone which was firmed up once they saw what needed to be done. His two associates were on time, friendly, assessed my needs, contacted Danny and then gave me the cost. They had the work done in about an hour or less. I was very pleased with their work and I will definitely call them again in the future for all my electrical needs. :)

I called Danny Hixon to please come to my house to evaluate an outside light that blew the fuse and I lost kitchen light and a bedsroom light caused by a wire chewed by squirrel or rat; I had numerous issues that I had put off such as power not being received in some outlets, and my children having problems with outlets unable to hold prongs because they were to loose. I also 2 years ago had a pine tree in the front yard get hit by lightening that ruin most of my neigbhors electical system in their house and a refrigerator in mine. I am a very involved single mom, who works full time and puts everything with her kids first. When I called Danny and asked his to help me with numerous problems, he came the next day. I felt his prices were very fair, he was punctual and very informative. I had been thinking of getting a surge proctector, and my computer man was going to charge me twice what Danny offered. His straight forward knowledge base was very reassuring. He answered all my questions in a supportive and clear manner, that I did not feel stupid for asking. He also do not have that sales man approach where you feel you got taken for items you did not need. I feel like he assessed problems at my house and treated problems that I had long put off and gave me just the service I wanted or needed. You cannot go wrong it you call for his service. You will be glad that you went with Danny. I can now sleep well that my house is protected and long put off work has been done. My children can easily use the outlet that we have for so long had a problem with. Thanks Danny!
