It went very well. I decided I could not sleep another night without A/C so I signed up to Angie's list at 10:30pm, did a bit of research, and called at 11 pm. Danny arrived an hour later. He listened to my troubleshooting steps, confirmed the issue, and fixed the issue in less than 10 minutes. Although I was a bit frustrated to not have resolved the issue myself, I was extremely satisfied with the experience. Considering the drive was at least an hour round/trip, and that the call was late at night on a Sunday, the fee was as reasonable as it could be. I hope not to have to call Danny anytime soon, but if I need some electrical work, I certainly will! Thanks!

Danny Hixon is a highly professional and thoroughly competent contractor, who responded to my call regarding a blown main breaker on my residential electric panel. At night. The same night. After investigating the problem, he first restored temporary power to my home and gave me the option of simply replacing the main breaker, or replacing with a new panel. He did this without "pressure selling" or scare tactics. I knew that the old panel needed replacing, so I opted to have the new one installed. He quoted me a good price, and deducted the night service call from the price of the new panel and installation. After replacing the panel, I began to experience intermittent power outages and flickering lights. When I called, He responded in a very timely manner and did a very detailed investigation of the source of the problem. It was determined to be from the provider. He then called Centerpoint and set up the service call. They came out, found the transformer to be faulty. and performed the necessary repairs. The next morning I received a follow-up call from Danny just to make sure everything was fine This contractor gets my highest ratings in all areas; service, timeliness, courtesy, professionalism, expertise, and price. I would not hesitate to use him again and recommend him to any one in need of electrical work.

I would recommend them to other members. They worked hard..they are very nice people too. It was a very good experience. Their pricing was very good and quality was excellent. They were good about keeping in touch and letting us know if they were running late. Good customer service.

Danny came out and inspected our existing electric panel and advised us on how it needed to be changed and spent some time explaining what was there and what we would need (Just moved into new house). We discussed various options. We were impressed with his knowledge and and enjoyed talking to him. He gave us a quote for the work to be performed. Subsequently we discussed our options and decided not to do the relocation of the box and just upgrade it. We did the work ourselves, but would not hesitate to call Danny if we need any help.

He was very responsive. I could call him on his cell phone and he would call me back immediately. There was a miscommunication but he cleared it up immediately. He didn’t think that I had moved in yet and I was without power for a few hours. He got an emergency person to come out and handle it so everything was good. He was punctual, responsive, and professional. I would use this company again. I have already called them to come back and do some more work.

I solicited quotes from four electricians to perform the work, including Thor Enterprises. Mr. Hixon called in advance to verify the appointment and was on time. He was prompt in providing a quote and explained how they would perform the work in detail. Thor was the lowest quote, so I awarded them the work. Mr. Hixon then scheduled the service date. His crew showed up promptly the morning of the appointed day and completed the work that same day (working until dark-- a long day). Underground work is challenging, and they did a good job of minimizing damage to my landscaping and sprinkler system. Overall, a good, professional performance at a competitive price.

We got only an estimate. That was more than enough!

I appologize for the delay in getting this report together. This is an older home in need of attention. The main breaker had to be replaced to bring it up to code and we needed it done quickly. Danny came out and spent a lot of time explaining all the details and how he would accomplish this with a minimum amount of time without our A/C. He took care of all the permits that were required and worked with the power provider to get us up and running again. He made sure all the breakers were tagged with the information I would need to know, he removed a lot of excess wiring that had been installed for various cable companies etc and when he finished that whole section of the house looked 100% better. Very professional in all aspects. I have since moved and will definetly get him back to work on my new house

They did a very professional job for what I felt was a reasonable price. Having an older home, I appreciated Danny making some suggestions for improvement, like the surge protector and the grounding rod being improperly installed. Small price to protect the many electronics we have plugged in here. On the day they did most of the work, it was raining and yucky out but they stuck with it and got the job done (or as done as it could be until the hot tub arrived). Then they came out again to finish wiring when the hot tub got here. I will definitely call Danny first next time we need any electrical work done.

The overall experience was an A. Danny was nice, cordial, and prompt to our scheduled appointment (unlike our previous experiences who never showed up or called back). He gave us an estimate in a timely manner. The estimated quote was out of our price range and we decided to use another electrician.

I called for an estimate and was given a maximum total. The electricians arrived on time and performed the work quickly. The total was below the quote. I highly recommend.

Excellent service and prices. Danny Hixon came out to try and diagnose an intermittent problem we were having with electricity in only part of our house randomly going out. I felt like he was very honest about what he could possibly do considering the nature of our problem, which was not presenting itself while he was at the house. He suggested some repairs to our electrical service panel but also advised the problem could be with a portion of the city owned electrical equipment. He was very helpful and he and/or his crew had to come out 2 more times after the initial service. He only charged for the first service call, which I appreciated since the second visit revealed that our problem was with part of the city equipment (which the city did fix). I will definitely use him again. We got wildly different quotes from other companies regarding the problem we were having. One company wanted to replace out entire electrical panel for over $4,000. Another company wanted to start cutting holes in all our walls to try and find where the problem was, couldn't give me a clear per-hour price for this and didn't bring the equipment along even though I specifically asked for a diagnostic visit. I really appreciated Danny's prompt follow up to my phone calls and how he dealt with us a customers. Dealing with electricians can be extremely frustrating because let's face it, they could tell most of us anything and we can't tell the difference. Our experience with Danny and his company was really positive.

Great experience! Danny came out for an estimate and discussed in detail what needed to be done after a power surge problem at my house. It was determined that the problem was with the underground and breaker panel. Danny and crew showed up promptly at 8 am and began working. They ran into a couple of issues with my neighbor and they were handled quickly and professionally. The repairs took approximately 12 hours. The crew was very polite, neat and efficient. They even fixed a few minor things from the power surge at no charge. I will definately work with them again.

He was prompt friendly and fast at completing the repairs. I will definitely use him again in the future.

Mr Nixon was really nice and didn't mind us overseeing the work and provided very good explanations and recommendations. His assistant was very good as well and they worked quickly efficiently. We were very happy with the results and the price! We would defnitely recommend Thor Electrical Services and will be using him again to do some overhauling on our house.

The tenant of a house I manage texted around 3pm saying that he saw sparks coming out of a lightbulb outlet. I looked up Angie's list and chose Thor Electrical because of its mostly positive feedback. The owner called me back within minutes and he said he can be at the house around 10pm that same day. Then later, I received a call from him saying that he will be able to make it between 8:30 and 9pm... We met him there, he looked at the problem and fixed it in less than half an hour. He didn't even charge us for the trip there. I HIGHLY recomment Thor Electrical and will definitely use their services again.

They came soon after I called and they were very good. They couldn’t come on the day that they were supposed to, but they called me to reschedule.

I had had them out before and they were excellent this time as well. They put a new cover on the line, a switch in my circut box, and put a new ground in the circut box.

They had great expertise and experience. They were prompt and had excellent work.

It went very well. He arrived on-time. He was very professional. He did all the work I requested, plus correceted something that was no longer "code" as part of the agreed-to price. Then he inspected the grounding rod, and realized it needed replaced, so we agreed on a price to fix that too. I'm extremely particular. Throughout the service he was clear and honest - always explaining to me what it would cost before starting the task. I can't ask for better help than that from a service company. I'll gladly hire him again.

Mr. HIxon and his crew arrived on time and worked steadily for about 5 hours at our house on Dec. 3, 2011. The job was mainly to add outlets in the garage, but we had a number of other issues—switches to add and change, outdoor and indoor light fixtures to switch out, and one of our circuits frequently threw a breaker due to a problem with an outlet. A couple of times there were decisions for us to make, which involved additional time and effort on the part of Thor Electric. However, through it all Mr. Hixon and crew were both courteous and highly efficient. Any time we had a question, he would stop and explain clearly what the problem was, and how he was going to address it. His advice (even regarding electrical issues not directly related to the job) was always spot-on and honest. He did not hesitate to recommend solutions which were not in his own interest, but would save us money and time. That’s why he impressed me as having an expert competence and honesty in equal measure—something rarely found in independent contractors! When it was time to present the bill, Mr. Hixon stuck to his original estimate and did not want to charge us for the amount over. We thought this was extremely fair but insisted on paying the full amount since we were pretty sure we had him do several things not on the original bid.

Overall great experience. It was a little hard to get a date scheduled with them mainly because I was not home when I called and work during the day. It seemed like it was a bit hard for them to specify a date of service for a while, but would call me when they were either in the area and/or had an opening. Regardless, once they came, they were very imformative and professional. Both the owner and his employees went out of their way to make sure I understood what it was that they were doing and made sure I was comfortable. I highly recommend them, and would use them in the future.

The job overall went well. I would recommend him to anybody. I liked the guy. I thought that the price was a bit high but I needed the work done in hurry, so that was okay.

Thor did a great, quick, inexpensive repair that allowed us to have AC on a hot evening and weekend. Thors responsiveness and professionalism was top notch.
