The Wood Shed

Reggie, the original owner I had dealt with in the past died around October 2018. His son, Chad, has taken over the business. I gave him numerous chances, as I realize, he was dealing with a lot. My patience has run out. They were supposed to come on November 9, 2018 but rescheduled for November 12, 2018. The driver was terrible and backed over two sections of my lawn leaving deep ruts, instead of backing up straight on the driveway. He also ran over my drainage system emitter valve. That item is $13.99 and a special order item, which Chad stated he would reimburse me. He assured me the wood was dry, as tested with his moisture meter. It takes four to eight hours to burn one piece of wood. It turns black and smokes. The wood is not dry. I called/texted and complained and he stated they would swap it out. I told him I only needed one or two of my five racks switched out, as the other wood will be dry by next year. He said they would come December 10 and the driver would bring $14 to reimburse me for the broken valve - no one showed. Then it was changed to December 12, and no one came. Chad went on and on how restaurants want green wood for their cooking and smoking. I don't have a restaurant. I want to use my fire place. Then he tried to get me to purchase oak, which he stated was dry. I don't want oak. I like the light scent of pecan. I have green pecan wood which doesn't burn and I can't use. Another vendor I spoke to in the summer, was selling green pecan wood for $380 for a face cord. By rights I should be reimbursed $134. $500 - 380 = $120, plus the cost of the $14 valve. If Chad just wants to deal with restaurants where he doesn't have to dry wood; that's his perogative but he should have told me and I could have purchased my wood elsewhere.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE THE ABSOLUTE WORST!! Delivery was late, but the unload went fairly quickly. I was assured the wood was seasoned and would have no trouble burning. Well - the wood wasn't seasoned, and when I placed a log on an already hot fire started with wood purchased from another source, the house quickly filled with smoke, ash and soot. I called Reggie at the Wood Shed to let him know he could come pick up the wood he just delivered and return my money. No answer, so I sent several texts. After 3 weeks of trying to reach this guy, I finally heard back from him. He apologized, promised to change out the wood with guaranteed good wood and after 3 missed delivery appointments, the new wood arrived. It was worse than the first batch. It was unseasoned, wet, rotted, full of bugs, full of knots, and the logs were so badly bent, I could not use the log splitter to split about 25% of it. I split what I could in hopes that it would help the wood dry out for next season rather than try to get this guy to come through. I just didn't want the hassle of trying to reach this unresponsive unprofessional business. As info - I purchased oak - I can't even use this stuff in our firepit - all it does is hiss and smoke. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Prompt delivery of 1/2 cord, stacked neatly and efficiently. The wood burns well recommend highly! Called on a Wednesday delivered on a Thursday that's fast!

They never responded to my request to buy the wood and have it delivered, waste of time and effort, these duds need to be removed from Angieslist if they cannot even respond to emails.

They were extremely rude. Did not even try to work with me. I've had many wood deliveries in the past and have never had any problem. This wood is extremely expensive as it it. Needless to say I do not recommend this company

Delivered, unloaded & stacked in my backyard. Very accommodating with my schedule. Delivered on a Sunday.

I called on a Tuesday and they delivered and stacked 1 cord of seasoned post oak on Saturday for $455 including the $20 Angie's List discount. The delivery truck called several times to keep me informed of when they would be arriving. While hauling and stacking the wood, the workers were courteous and professional.

We were not even home when they delivered, but they stacked it where we needed and left no mess. Very easy to work with.

The Wood Shed did great. Wood was good quality. They delivered it the day after my order as promised and they stacked it neatly. I had requested that the chiminea wood be cut to a specific length. They were able to accommodate the special order with no issues.

Very well. My wood was delivered and neatly stacked. I received what I ordered and when they said they would arrive. And they gave a discount for being an Angie's List member.

I called in the morning and discussed price of a 1/2 cord of firewood. Reggie (the owner) answered the phone himself and was very patient and courteous. He asked me what part of town I lived in. He was loading a truck for a restaurant about 5 miles away from me - so we agreed on a price and scheduled the delivery for that afternoon. The driver called me from the restaurant and arrived at my house a few minutes later. A two man team unloaded and stacked the firewood in short order. I have built a couple of fires in my fire pit with the firewood - it burns very well - almost no smoke. I would definitely use these guys again. Reggie also texted me later in the evening to ask how everything went. I appreciated the personal follow-up. I don't expect I will be lucky enough to get same day delivery again - it just worked out this time.

Very nice company. I spoke with Reggie and ordered 1/2 cord of firewood ( 1/4 oak and 1/4 pecan). I spoke with him on a Friday and the wood was delivered the following Wednesday. He had even offered to deliver it the previous weekend, but I was not available for delivery then. Very friendly and courteous. Three workers arrived on time (after they called to let me know when they would be coming). The wood was was very neatly stacked at my home, and the workers even helped me move a small amount of patio furniture so that they would have a clear path to the stacking area. VERY pleased with this company. I immediately recommended them to my uncle-in-law! Will definitely call them again.

At the time they said; the wood was very good - just the right size, and obviously had been dried for a while - lights easily but does not burn too quickly. I thought they were fairly expensive, but it is several years since I bought my last cord, so all prices may have gone up. Should certainly recommend them.

Quality of the wood and the stacking were excellent. They were a little slow in responding, probably because of a lot of holiday business. The price was higher than usual, but apparantly there was a firewood shortage in the area. I would us them again.

I ordered firewood for my fireplace and chiminea. I was wasn't sure what kind of wood I wanted. They were very helpful in selecting the right kind for me. It was delivered on time and the quality of the wood was very good. They were very courteous and cleaned up after the wood was stacked. I would recommend them.

They loaded us with a half cord of good quality firewood.

I've used these guys in the past and they were great. This time, a couple of rough edges, but I will still use them in the future. This time around, they lost my first request and the delivery date came and no wood arrived. I called back, and they had no record of me, but promised next day delivery. Sure enough, they arrived on time and stacked the wood neatly. (Well, it's not like I'VE never forgotten something I've been asked to do...) The wood was advertised as seasoned and should have been ready for immediate burning. Unfortunately, it is damp and will need to dry for a few months. Twice I've tried to burn it in my chimenea, and you can hear the steam hissing. I tried logs from different parts of the pile, and same result - it only burns on top of hot coals from other dry wood.

Delivered, stacked and left invoice while we were gone. Only recommendation would be a better scheduling system. I believe the owner does it all and manages it through texts. But at the end of the day...would use again.

I'm very impressed with the Wood Shed and its product and service. I ordered a half chord of wood and they delivered right on time like they said they would. Even called me several times to make sure I would be home. What was even better; they actually stacked the wood for me and cleaned up around the wood stack area. (I have ordered fire wood before from various vendors and no one stacked the wood. They just backed up the truck and dumped in the drive way. Finally I was totally impressed because they also provided a tarp to cover the wood since they knew it was going to raining this weekend. Impressive to say the least. I will definitely order from them again. I just hope they continue to say in business. Can't say enough ggod word sabout this outfit and the people that work for them. Very friendly and no messing around. Hard workers for sure!!

They called before scheduled delivery. Arrived on time. Unloaded and neatly stacked firewood. They swept up and were on their way in a matter of minutes. Very courteous and friendly.

I drove up, the workers called the boss, he arrived a minute later, they loaded my truck, and I was on my way. Next time I'll do delivery. I think it's $20 and they stack the wood too.

Excellent and friendly service. Came on schedule, confirmed 45 minutes before arrival. Guys that delivered were very friendly and professional. Stacked wood and cleaned up afterwards. Even got some great advice on different types of wood. They seem to sell all kinds and you can mix the type of wood if you like. Definitely would recommend.

We called & Mr. Brown was able to deliver the full cord of aged oak & pecan within 3 days; his crew stacked it all quite neatly just where we wanted it; they also swept up where they'd work & Mr. Brown called to make sure the job was done to our satisfaction, which it was. We will call on him again for good, aged firewood; it's cut into approx 2' lengths which is quite manageable to use.

I called, they came on time, they stacked the firewood in my racks. Good quality wood, good service. Price was reasonable.

I triple checked the location when I arrived (I didn't see a "Woodshed" sign) but the address was right and they were selling firewood. They loaded me up, I paid, and then I had firewood.
