Description of Work: I hired The Gutter Man to clean the gutters and downspouts on my 1 story home and stable. The crew was prompt and professional. They wore special soles on their shoes to protect the roof finish. We met and agreed on the gutter footage and number of downspouts to clean. We debated a $75 add on fee because the stable has a metal roof. I didn't exactly understand the purpose of the fee as the same cleaning methods were used on the stable as the house. However, I agreed to pay the fee and work began. The crew seemed to have done a nice job and cleaned up the site nicely when completed. They suggested and quoted gutter covers to keep out leaves and debris in the future for lower maintenance bills. Two months later, I decided to install my own gutter screens from Home Depot. It was the first time I had seen the top of the gutters since the cleanout. Being winter, the trees were bare and the gutters seemed to still be clean for the most part. However, I was very disappointed to find the entire gutter section on the back of the stable, with the metal roof, to be packed full of leaves. The downspout was also clogged as was one downspout on the house. I cleaned the leaves out of the gutter and downspouts and installed all the new gutter screens. The Gutter Man will not be on my calling list the next time work is required.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to earn your business. We would like to address the issue this Member had after the cleaning was complete two months earlier. Because of the checks and balances implemented (digital images and meticulousness notes on each property visited)... We're very efficient in recognizing a problem or finding out why an issue or problem even occurred. I would like to point out to all Members, that if you notice that something was missed or have any questions/ concerns, please give us a call back and send the crew back out to correct the issue or address your concerns. We do charge an extra fee for metal roofs..the degree of difficulty changes quite a lot..basically it turns into a slip & slide when any type of moisture (water, dew, sweat) gets on it. That being said...this Member lives in a high populated tree area. Broad leafs (falling seasonal) and Pine trees (fall all year round), with the majority of His being Broad Leafs. The Crew recognized right away the need for a cover or screen on the system and recommended this to the Member. Once a system is cleaned... any and all debris that falls on the roof or into the gutter flow directly towards the relive point (downspout). This began right away with Pine needles because the fall all the time and the reaming broad leafs still on the three....Without a cover and two months worth of rains, winds and storms a downspout clog and become impacted. Especially if the downspout is undersized (2x3). On a metal roof in a environment of tall trees (surrounding the building) this debris easily slide down the roof into the gutter. Waiting two months before you screen, and you'll have to preform a thorough cleaning again...and downspouts can and be clogged. The notes indicate “tall trees surrounding metal roof on barn”. Home Owner declined screens. The job was completed on January 6th, 2016 and by the Member's own admission, he waited two months before going up to install screens from Home Depot. We offer to take before and after pictures and present them to the Home Owner for visual inspection after the job is completed and the pictures on file clearly indicate tall tress with a large amount of broad leafs still on them. The discounted cleaning is good for up to 250 combined linear feet of gutter and downspout; for a system that is secured ( not needing repairs ie...re-securing the gutter or downspouts ). Any additional footage over the allotted limit, is given at a discounted rate. Repairs are not included, however, given at a discounted rate as well. All repair work must be approved by The Member, and if the cost is more than they wish to incur, they can get a refund right away! This coupon is designed for an average size home 2,500-3,500 sq. ft. This particular residence is a two story home, 4500 sq. ft.... with 466 ft. of gutter and 178 ft. of downspout. The additional charge at the discounted rate for the extra footage was $165.48 We appreciate the opportunity to earn AL members business. The Gutter Man

Description of Work: As far as I know they cleaned my gutters on two story home. Really no way to know how well without going on the roof. They were punctual and quick. Some of the clean up on the ground after could have been better. Pine needles, etc were just blown into flower beds and some left resting where they fell. Some screens not put back correctly.
