It did not go well. They missed three appointments, and now they are saying that they will not honor any Groupon coupons. Seems they're too busy with "regular" customers to do Groupon work. We are left a month later with overflowing gutters. I've asked Groupon for a refund. We'll see how that goes!

I purchased the gutter cleaning deal for $94.00 on June 5th and was promptly contacted by them and the date setup for the work was July 21st. On July 20th I received a call to inform me that they were to busy to accept the job and cancelled my appointment and informed me to contact Angie's List for a refund. I guess the deal wasn't making them enough money and they had higher paying (more profit for them) jobs and decided to make money over good customer service. I can not recommend them to anyone as you can't depend on them to keep their word.

Purchased on June 8th and they scheduled the gutter cleaning for July 14th, which was over a month from the date purchased. They no-showed. i waited 5 additional days for a call, received none. When I called to check on their schedule they said the first opening would be in October. Definitely a company I would not recommend. They blamed it on the rain from 2 months ago. Really? October? Shame on them!

They refused to honor the deal I purchased.
Description of Work: I called several times throughout the week; either there was no answer or the mailbox was full. When I finally got a hold of someone and tried to schedule service I was told they no longer take Angies List deals and to call them and get a refund. Why put a deal out there if you weren't going to honor it?

The job was properly done and completed within the agreed timeframe. I received a telephone call 20 minutes before the crew's arrival. Considering that this was a very very small job, they did not overcharge and the price was very affordable.

Nothing really to report as they never provided the service and never responded to my emails or returned promised calls. --- *update* The service provider did finally set a date fro service which was roughly three months from the original date of contact. I agreed to the date, as they indicated they were very busy. I received a phone call on 8/5/16, the day prior to the confirmed service date, that not only were they not going to come and do the cleaning as promised, but that they were suspending all deliveries for Angie's list buyers until further notice, at least any who bought using a discount coupon they had offered, no explanation other than that. The kept me waiting and holding to get service for three months, on again and off again, to finally just say get lost and our word means nothing. Terrible customer service!
Description of Work: More what they did not do. I paid the fee off the site and received an email outlining that there would be a delay in service due to all the recent rains in Houston. They asked that I call them and look to set up a firm date. So I did call and spoke to a young lady who promised to get back with me with a schedule date for service, never heard anything back. I sent two follow up emails and to date have still had no reply. Now I am sure they are very busy, but really no excuse for this type of customer service.

It was a bit scary watching them walk around the edge of the roof, I was a bit worried for their safety, but they knew what they were doing. They were thorough, very polite, professional and pleasant.

There was a bit of confusion on my part between the initial set-up of the appointment time and when they actually arrived but once they let me know they were at the house, everything else went well. The young men that did the work were very efficient (and brave getting up on the roofs) They explained everything in detail and pointed out any issues. I had an overflow problem in the front of my house and they explained why they thought it was happening and applied a fix that I hope will work. I would use them again and recommend them highly

On June 13, Jeff Lambert came to my home to give m an estimate on replacing a section of gutter(the horizontal across the front of my home) damaged from the fallen tree. This is the estimate that I asked for and nothing more. This is the company that installed the gutter system for the entire house in stages over the last 24 years. During his inspection I told this to him and he denied it. I said that I have the paperwork to prove it and I could show it to him but he said no. He next told me that the vertical downspouts that were on the front of my house were smaller than the ones his company installed. I read this as meaning that if they replaced the damaged gutter, they wanted to replace the vertical downspouts even though they were undamaged. Then he decided, unrequested by me, to inspect the horizontal gutter on the right hand side of the house leading back to the chimney. He told me that it was improperly installed and that it would overflow in the event of a good rain. As evidence of this, he pointed out the fact that the far side of the chimney closest to this gutter was almost black. Said this was due to it overflowing. I pointed out that the side of the chimney opposite the roof was also black and offered the fact that the only part of it not black was that closest to the eave or soffit that protected it from rain. He disregarded this fact altogether and insisted that the section of gutter in question must be pulled and repositioned. When I told him I wasn't interested in repositioning this gutter, he called me a liar apparently because he assumed I called his company out to improve everything he thought was wrong with my gutter system. If I had said "Gee whiz, I had no idea, Could you inspect the rest of my gutters and tell me what you think", I believe he would have found a few other things that needed replacing or adjusting. I ask him "Isn't the customer always right?" meaning that if I choose not the have something repaired, that is my choice and if it comes back to bite me, I'll have to have the Gutter Man come back and fix whatever is not working. He said no that I was wrong. Also I believe that, if in fact, if my gutters were not functioning perfectly, it is the homeowners prerogative to choose not to improve them if they are not causing a problem. He also told me that no company would come out only to replace a damaged gutter on the front of my house. He was flat wrong on this as I had another company bid to do just that prior to his visit. He was obviously not interested in solving the problem that I called about but to find as many other imperfections as possible and thus make more money. Bottom line - don't hire this company.

We appreciate the opportunity to address this issue. It was a very unfortunate incident where everyone walked away confused. The accounts of this Members review are simply inaccurate and misleading. TGM completely understands that sometimes Members just want the bare minimum done. It is their home and it's the Home-Owner's prerogative on what they get done. That being said, if what They want done, is not up to the Standards of a Private Company.... well it's the Company's prerogative not to take the job. We did some work for this Member, in the past, with a very favorable review...hence why They called us back out once again. The standards of guttering has changed with the evolving weather and building practices. Since the last install. TGM has always taken the Lead in the Industry Standards and is proud to say things are done differently from the blue print We laid out. This Member explained He was selling the Home and only wanted to replace the damage section (3' section on a 35' run) and not to bother with the downspouts. TGM informed him that “The Industry Standard” ( not just TGM ) has come to the conclusion that 2x3 downspouts do not have the capacity required, on large roof mass area's, to handle the heavy Houston rain fall; and now use 3x4 downspouts as a Standard Item for large roof mass areas. So it may still over-flow after the work is completed. He informed me that we installed the system 4 yrs ago and should still be under warranty. According to our system, TGM has completed some work on this property in the year 2000 and it's not under warranty. It appeared we did partial work on the home but not the whole system. A lot has happen to this home since the year 2000 including servicing the system, a new roof as well as painting by different companies. The TGM Associate explained that TGM would need to replace the 35' section and a 10 ' section on the side of the home, for the system not to hold water (due to the system being interconnected and the damage affecting the small side section as well) but will over-flow on a heavy rain due to the size of the downspouts.... and we would not just splice a 3' section into the system. TGM would warrant the work done but the existing system that it's tied into (including the 2x3 downspouts) would not be under warranty. The Member said He didn't “care if the system worked or not”. He was more concerned with aesthetics and not the function at this time...due to the Homeowners Association; “.... it would be the next Home-Owners problem.” We decided to walk away from the job. The Member's Spouse came home, during which Jeff Lambert was trying to leave, and witnessed the Member's action and asked Him to go inside.....then apologize for the profanity as well as the aggressive, demeaning manner displayed by Her Husband. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and We're happy to say.... Problem solved. I would like to point out that this is a company of 25 people, utilizing Six, Two-Man Crews. The company was established in 1975 residing in a 20,000 square foot facility. We have Three Outstanding Employee's in the Front Office answering phones and setting appointments to make your experience enjoyable. Now We've done work for this Member in the past, with a very favorable review... He knows our company very well...so We're all a little taken-a-back by the implied statements in this review. The pre-purchase discount deal through AL is an Introduction Offer for New Customers only. This Member used the discounted service back in 2014. He also took advantage of a discount rate on a tree trimming as well, for only $65.00. When calling to set up another pre-purchase discount gutter cleaning, The Front Office informed Him that He was no longer eligible for that particular discount gutter cleaning ( available to New Customers only); but could use the $25 off coupon also offered through AL. I was very disappointed in this company. They cleaned my gutters and did an inspection. They found 2 minor repairs that cost an addition 250 dollars. Which was fine with me I wanted to get everything fixed. But they missed other obvious repairs needed. When I had noticed the other problems. I contacted Alex many times with no response. He had no problem getting a hold of me when he wanted the additional 250 dollars. A salesman called me Brad and wanted to sell me on something else. Told him I couldn't get a hold of anyone and he said he would have someone contact. That has been a couple weeks ago. I really wish this company would treat their customers better. Especially when they are trying to give them more money for repairs.

Description of Work: Provider has still done nothing for the Gutters , Service was requested to be confirmed with Tenant for 2nd, 3rd, 4th of May. Tenant received no contact. Tenant contacted Provider herself who said they had no record of original booking and arranged with Tenant to come on I believe 23rd May Provider once again never turned up. This is the second time I have paid for this service through Angie's list and not to receive any attendance on both occasions. My gutters are a mess. Please advise way forward, work needs to be completed or refunded (for both occasions) Thanks Mike Middleton

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to address this issue. We have had a three week back log since March. There is absolutely no way we would be able to get someone in the schedule in five to seven days. No schedule was set for 2nd, 3rd, 4th of May..it just wouldn't happen. Other reschedule appointments (RAIN) would have top priority and get those spots. TGM can not do any work on a home for a Tenant. We have to get permission from the actual Owner. We do not have this Member by the name given in our system. Or are we able to find his email. However it shows in the AL system that this Member purchased a discounted cleaning on April 27, 2016, by name given but that is it. The New AL system does not show his address, email, or phone number. If your name is not in the email then it is hard to reference back. We have an automatic emailed sent out explaining we have questions that specifically pertains to your home and they need to be answered before we can get you in our schedule. So please call the office for your cleaning asap. If a phone number is not given, then email is all we have to contact you with...and sometimes that gets put into your junk mail. Also because this is a Rental property, we need to speak with the Owner via phone before we can proceed with scheduling an appointment. Mother-Nature is upon us.... Nothing we can do but wade through the backlog the rain created. Once the rain comes, everyone wants to get their gutters cleaned right away... they must get cleaned out ASAP...and We understand that. It can cause a lot of damage to your home if they are not maintained. This is the busiest time of year! So Don't wait to clean your gutters just because of a coupon!!! Your home is your greatest investment!!! If we can't get it done in your time-frame...please seek an alternative route... don't wait. However, keep in mind this is not a "Gutter Man issue" and Rain did not just hit Us. Gutters are very clean and looking forward to seeing how they perform during the next rain storm. Did a great job on cutting back the myrtle tree that was touching the roof. Kept the character of the tree while performing the necessary maintenance. We did find some gutter debris around the flower beds but considering we had plants growing in some of the gutters, they did a pretty good job of removing the vast majority of the debris around the house.
Description of Work: Cleaned roof, gutter and downspouts. Trimmed back one tree that was touching the roof.

Arrived on time and gave me a courtesy call before arrival as I had requested. They use special shoes so as not to damage your roof when they walk on it. They also use special ladders that do not lean on your gutters so they do not damage them. They check that the downspouts are not clogged. Cleaned up yard thoroughly from any debris that had fallen from the gutters during cleaning.

Scheduled the appointment on Monday May 9th for Friday May 13th which was the next time the crew would be in my area. They did not show for the appointment so upon calling I was told that what they meant by "Friday" appointment was almost three weeks later on Friday May 27th. They would not accommodate a sooner appointment, so I cancelled the appointment and am awaiting a refund through Angie's list.

If it rains on your day... we can't just boot out others (that have been waiting as long as others) to get your home done.You go in a "Rescheduling Que" and have Priority over the any new calls coming in; which is a fair process due to the weather.
