Description of Work: They had scheduled an appointment to perform this work for today (May 21) however they then called me to say they were overworked and that they had to reschedule for the end of June. This was disappointing as I needed the work done sooner than this.

This is immediately emailed out after a pre-paid purchase: Due to the rain a backlog is in place We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and want you to understand that we are working to bring on-line additional trained crews to take care of the back-log; however, this is not a man power issue...One crew or ten crews, when Mother Nature calls... no one is working in our industry; but We are cutting through the back-log very quickly. Working on ladders and roofs is a very dangerous job (and of course we are fully insured) and if lightening is in the area (20 mile radius) we have to wait an hour before we proceed. If it is raining, thunder-storming, high winds, etc., we pull off the job and will wait til it blows over or reschedule. This is not a “Gutter Man problem”. All construction companies have to follow strict guide-lines to insure safety for their employees and customers. We've been in business since 1975 and it's because of these precaution's that are in place, that We've stayed in business and have never lost an employee to a ladder accident or fall from the roof. That being said...We appreciate your patience and allowing Us the opportunity to earn your business in an efficient, safe manner. We understand that your home is a great investment and if you are unable to wait for Us to come out to take care of your gutter cleaning service professionally, then we recommend getting a refund from Angie's List and not take a slot from someone who can wait. Right now we are running a four week back-log due to all the rain/thunderstorms-lightening, and flooding of by-passes, feeders, as well as normal routes under construction. We recommend cleaning your gutters before window cleaning, lawn service and pool service as well as before the weekend if you have a pool party or an event happening at your home. The Gutter Man

Description of Work: I called the company, and they told me that they were not able to perform the gutter cleaning service for over 45 days (end of June). They also told me that in addition to the $94.00 I paid Angie's List for gutter cleaning service, I would have to pay another $81.00 because a small part of the gutter was on a third story (not really high). This was not disclosed on the Angie's List website for The Gutter Man. It just seemed like a bait and switch thing. The person on the phone was not very nice as well.

The details to the deal are very clear about homes that are three story. It's written again in the fine print as well; and we go over it again while the Member is setting their appointment. We don't give any finale pricing over the phone due to not being able to see the scope of work. Description of Work: Punctuality: |We were not given a specific time, so had to wait the day until they showed up (~4:30 PM) and I was ready to leave for the day. | |Price: |When they came over, they measured the Gutters & Down Sprouts and charged us extra for the difference. But, 1/2 of the total Gutter was cleaned the week before, but they still charged us for the whole length. Not very professional, are they. | |Service & Quality: |When they arrived, we had a discussion and we requested them if they can clean the outsides of the Gutter (since 1/2 of the total Gutter was already cleaned by us a week before - for timing reasons...). But they left the outside of the whole gutter dirty...a little pressure washer could have done the trick and made us happy. We could still see spots where the gutter is dirty outside from them cleaning it... We were simply wondering - what did they do with the part of the gutter (1/2 the total) that was already shiny clean inside...? Did they simply pour water in it to make it look like they worked on it...? Not these company again. They may have got an "A" before, but I am not satisfied with the work they did and charged us extra even if 1/2 the gutter was already clean !!! | |Original cost was $94.00 and they charged us $25.00 for removing some plastic gutter screens that were not even screwed and the rest for the excess length.

Thank you for your review. This member had damaged screens that had to be removed before we could clean the system. The additional footage cost was $29.82. If the system is interconnected, we must clean the whole system; and with all of the thunder-storms The Woodlands has experienced, limbs, pine-needles, pine-cones, etc. are causing issues after each storms with high winds. We don't use pressure washing machines and highly recommend against cleaning your gutters this way. We only clean the inside of the gutter and rinse off the outside. The debris and streaks are coming from behind the gutter due to the system being install with the drip edge flashing being behind the gutter (allowing water to draw behind the gutter) instead of inside the gutter. That is a problem that will continue to happen each time it rains. You can rinse and rinse, however, the drip will still persist due to gravity. We appreciate the opportunity to explain the stains you experienced, because this happens to a lot of homes. It's also referred to as "tiger-stripping". The Gutter Man

Description of Work: Pros: |1. The price was excellent and they upcharged me pursuant the promotional pricing. That was refreshing! |2. The guys were very nice and professional.....except when they blew gutter trash all over my new truck. I moved it after the non-warning. |Cons: They made a hot mess on my deck and pool. |1. They did NOT flush all of the downspouts. There were several that are full of debris. |2. The truck thing, but I HAD just purchased it the day before.

Our system automatically generates a response with a phone number, asking for the member to call the company to schedule their cleaning. We've sold over 1041 deals and this is the first one that said we did not contact them. We apologize for the inconvenience, however with a phone number not provided, the only form of communication is through email....and if that is not provided either...well we just have the message board. We reached out to this member the same day they purchased the deal. We checked it and the member can still check it.
