Description of Work: Were scheduled to do entire remodel job on our house. Took off popcorn. Did not discuss details such as placement of lighting. When I came home from work, people who could not speak English had placed lights in weird places. Owner very cocky and lied about many things. Fired the group but only got $5000 back. Very unpleasant experience!

+ -1 moreThe quality of the work that they did and the guys that the contractor hires are really good. He was terrible. A six week project took like four and a half months. The end result was good, but the process wasn't. It was kind of a nightmare.

+ 0 moreDan White and his crew did a great job and I would use them again. Dan has extensive experience, is pleasant to work with and follows up promptly on issues. He is excellent at visioning and recommending options to consider while being cost conscious. He doesn't bug you for money, asking for payment only upon completing key milestones. His exterior work ran slightly behind schedule, but his interior work was on target. We get lots of complements on all the work he did.
Description of Work: Exterior: Added an extensive covered patio with pavers and ceiling fans and recessed lights, enhanced drainage, removed brick wall and replaced with wrought iron and landscaped back and art of front yard. Painted outside. Interior: Kitchen remodel, Major Master Bath remodel, tiled all floors, painted all the inside, installed 2 pocket doors, 2 doors to outside and replaced all inside doors. Installed recessed lights throughout the house. Removed extensive bar and opened up the space for a small office / work area. Remodeled small laundry room.

+ -1 moreNothing was ever done, because he never completed the estimate or called back and said he didn't want to do the job.
Description of Work: I had heard from several neighbors that Dan comes to your home, goes around your house, listens to what you want done, then never calls you back or gets an estimate to you. I went ahead and game him a shot, and this is exactly what he did to my family. Several weeks have gone by, and I have met about 5 people in the neighborhood that said he has done the same thing to them.

+ 1 moreDan White and his crew have been a fixture in the Memorial-west area for years for a reason. They know these homes, many of which were built by Kickerillo in the 1960s, like the backs of their hands, so not only will he try to fulfill your remodeling requests to the letter, he's not afraid to speak up with suggestions, and not just upsells. He's honest enough to warn against work he thinks might not look good or work right, or that might be unnecessary. If you live in the area, he's probably done major work on a house that looks a lot like yours, if not exactly like yours, which is a plus. While our project took several weeks, we were always able to navigate the house OK considering all the major floor work, which can really be a hassle. And we appreciate the Dan's crew have a reputation for being trustworthy, as they were in our house without our presence on weekdays through the remodel. We've used Dan in the past for interior and exterior work and surely will again.
Description of Work: Replaced all downstairs flooring with slate tile. Replaced carpeted stairs with wood treads. Replaced upstairs hall flooring and master bedroom carpet with hardwood. Had carpet in three bedrooms stretched. Major painting throughout house, except bedrooms and bathrooms. Replaced two light fixtures downstairs. Painted front door.

Description of Work: I called this company for an estimate to repair some rotten wood and to paint the exterior of the home and they never returned my call.

+ -1 moreTHEY WERE GOOD. THEY DIDN'T CHARGE EXTRA FOR THE LATTICE WORK AND CAME BACK TO DO SOME TOUCH UPS WHEN REQUESTED.
