Summit Fence South

Everything was great BEFORE they got my money, they were responsive, polite, and accomodating. On my project, I was clear from the beginning that I wanted part of the new fence to accomodate a growing tree between my and my neighbor's yard, they didn't do this and within a month the tree was pushing on the fence. The first time I asked them to come back and fix this tree issue I asked for a permanent solution as they didn't follow my initial instructions. Their response was to file down the horizontal post where the tree is, needless to say, the tree was pushing against the fence shortly after the "repair". So I called the company again to get this fixed once and for all, no reply. I called several more times (I think I actually called four times) over the course of a few weeks and I never got a response from the company. When I finally did get a hold of someone, I had to deal with rude and accusatory behavior. The last time I talked to someone at the company, just before Thanksgiving, they agreed to send someone to permantly fix the issue (and I had even agreed to pay for the material and labor just to move on even though I don't think I should pay for their error). It should be no surprise to the reader that I haven't heard from the Company since our "resolution". After waiting a month for them to get back to me, I just ended up fixing this myself. I regret giving this company my business, they are too big to care and I would advise against doing business with Summit Fense South.

They were phenomenal. They did very good work & cleaned up after themselves. They were very professional & polite. They told us a few things that need to be done on the gates & are coming back to do them.

Phillip had to come out several times because our needs changed but was great to work with as usual. We will use them for the work they have quoted since the price is fair and our experience with them has always been a good one.

The company is very easy to work with and although the estimator had to reschedule and ran late, he was always in close communication with me about his schedule. The work was scheduled to be completed in one day, but the crew hit our water main and that slowed them down a bit. The only problem I had was that they were packing up to leave and didn't tell us they had broken and then repaired the water pipe. We discovered moments before the crew left that there was no water to the house. Once they were alerted to the problem, they stayed and worked with us until it was resolved, and the next day they finished the job with no further excitement. If it weren't for the lack of communication about the pipe breaking, I would have given them an A rating.

Excellent execution

Went really and we are really happy with the work. Crew was professional and cleaned up their work area exceptionally well which is critical when dealing with horses and nails!!!! Got there when they said they would and returned promptly to finish. No stalling or failing to arrive. Will use them again and recommend them to friends.

After moving into a house with a driveway gate it was obvious that we needed to replace the gate remote controls. Simple, right? After contacting several other companies who felt they needed to perform a service call to be able to give us what we needed we contacted Summit who, after a very brief conversation was able to tell us what we needed. Not wanting to trip over programming the new controls I volunteered to pick them up just to make sure everything went right. Driving over there was the last thing I had to do. They were friendly, professional and insisted on making sure the remotes were ready to go before I left. They will definitely get our future fencing business.

I spoke to a woman who answered the phone. She was short with me once she found out I needed parts of our fence repaired. She seemed to only be interested in installing new fences. We also wanted some new fencing, too, but it was as if the minute she heard "repair", she couldn't really take the time to talk to me. She told me she wasn't sure if they did fence repair but would let the sales person determine that. I have yet to hear from anyone.

When I talked to the Salesman who was suppose to come out and give me estimate on a gate repair/replacement, I was told they were not set up to do small jobs but since I got them off Angie's list he would come out anyways as soon as he was in my area. From his attitude, I could tell he was not interested in providing any services, so I told him I would find someone else. As a small business owner, I would never treat anyone like this no matter how small or insignificant the matter. So if you have a small job, don't waste your time with this company. They are only interested in big jobs where they can make big money.

We had an excellent experience with Summit Fence South. We found them on Angie's List and contacted them, among others, based on the online reviews. Philip arrived as promised to give us a bid. In the process of reaching our decision, he answered all our questions promptly and patiently. When the work began, the crew members were so masterful at their craft, it was a pleasure to watch them. The work was done in two stages on three days--first the fencing and then the gate. The work happened during the Fourth of July week (when the 4th fell on a Wednesday) and they thought to leave the old gate up during the holiday break, which we really appreciated. The driveway gate is beautiful, almost a work of art from the backside, which we get to enjoy from our backyard patio. Both the gate and fence are extremely sturdy, addressing our main concern in replacing the old stuff. We thought the pricing was quite fair, especially given the quality of work and materials. It was a pleasure to deal with Linda, the owner, in handling the payments. She added a personal touch, plus made sure we understood to watch for the (infamous) Houston soil, how it might shift and affect the driveway gate. If there is any shifting, it will be covered by the one year warranty. We love being forewarned and presented with solutions before a problem occurs!

We have requested multiple estimates and while Summit submitted an excellent proposal we are planning to work with another contractor.

Found the company on Angie's List and called. Phillip came by and was very prompt and informative. We decided to go with them and began doing the design for the fence. All of the employees we came in contact with were excellent, very customer service oriented, courteous. The install crews were outstanding, very efficient and accommodating. We have some additional gates and fences to do and we will definitely use the again.

They did a great job and were thorough.

I called three different companies and none of them called me back. I had to call them back a week later and only two came out to give me a bid. Out of the two, they were the only one who ever sent me a bid. I was really disappointed. I never called them back after they sent me my bid because it was ridiculously high. I do realize that I have a big yard. They were really friendly when they showed up but overall I'd have to give them a C-. They haven't really done anything for me except give me a bid so I can't really comment on their quality. When they were here they were really professional but they didn't call me back or acknowledge me. When I asked why they didn't call me back, they said "We forgot to."

Very professional approach. I discovered they had been my neighbors contractor when he replaced our adjoining fence, which we chose to have them double side. This was about 6 years ago. THe job was well done and the contractors cleaned up after themselves well. The estimate for this job was laid our more professionally than the others I obtained. The estimate amount was close to the same for all of them (I think - couldn't really tell) so I went with Summit. This time the job was done all in one day. THey cleaned up after themselves and told me almost immediately that they had cut the sprinkler system pipe and elec. wire when they dug hole for gate post. They immediately repaired the PVC pipe and told me I could have them send a licensed sprinkler co. to repair the wire (they weren't allowed to do the electrical) or I could hire my own and ask for reimbursement. I called my sprinkler man but forgot to get a receipt. Linda refunded the amount of the check I wrote without the receipt. Good prompt service from everyone. I would use them again in a minute.

I have used Summit Fence before. Their product is high quality. I have contacted them regarding a problem with their obtaining proper permits in my city. Due to their lack of investigating and obtaining proper permits, years later I am receiving invoices from my city on my door with notice of possible late penalties. The problem is not my having to pay the permit. The problem is an original lack of proper professionalism and a current neglect of taking care of their past negligence. Once the city made them aware of their issues with lack of permits in our city, they should have immediately remedied the situation. This is very poor treatment of their customers.

I interviewed and priced several options from many companies. This company did everything I asked in a timely manner and cleaned up completely when finished. I would not hesitate to recommend them for future work.

The work was done as scheduled and they finished early. I needed the gate mechanisms changed and they came out right away and fixed it at no extra charge. They were very professional and took care to make sure they constructed a fence that would hold up and prevent my dogs from digging through -- the wire mesh panels meet the ground in all areas. The work was very high quality. The fence looks great! It is almost a year later and the fence has held up quite well. I would recommend their services without hesitation.

Their quote process was thorough. They guaranteed to use North American cedar. Their price matched a cheaper quote. They were quick and got it done in one day. They cleaned everything up and hauled away the old fence. The new fence looks great.

They finished up yesterday and it looks great. I couldn’t believe it when they told me it would only take 2 days. It took them 2 days and it was done.

I was very pleased with the quality of my fencing job that Summit Fence South did for me. The cedar fencing is beautiful and the work was well-done, and done within a couple of weeks. Summit showed me options for the wrought iron fence and we sent them a sketch of how we wanted it designed. It was custom fabricated at their shop and sent for powder coated, and also very well done. Tony was great throughout the estimating process, and the crew at the shop who scheduled the fencing were very polite and kept me informed. The crews who put the fence up did the work efficiently, and cleaned up afterward.

I left message with Summit on 24 Mar 2012 (Saturday) and requested a return phone call for an estimate. On 26 Mar 2012, I received a phone call first thing in the morning and was told that "Tony" would be contacting me later that day in order to set an appointment. Because I had not received a phone call by noon on 27 Mar 2012, I contacted the company and spoke with the office manager (I don't recall his name.), who stated that he would contact Tony and have him call me ASAP. It's 1:00 PM, 28 Mar 2012.....and no phone call. This is not a professional way to run a business.

Hauled away old fence and installed new in 2/3 day.

Great. Fast estimate, fast schedule and completed in one day.
