+ -1 moreThey check the mower out and if there's anything wrong, they fix it. If it needs maintenance, they do it. It's more than what I want to pay but it goes with the size of the mower. I've been doing it for years. I just extended the warranty for another two years. The price is less if you sign up for more years.
Description of Work: We have a contract with Sears for our lawn mower. They do the maintenance and repairs. They come out every spring.

+ -1 moreSears Home service was contacted reference a leak in my washer. I was given a date and a time frame (8am-12noon) . At 12:15 I called Sear Home Service and inquired how much longer I had to wait for service. The operator advised, the service man had an unforeseen problem on his current call and would be at my residence between 1pm and 2pm. I requested a call from the service man. At 2pm I called to cancel the service call, as I had found a more professional business to repair my washer. At 2:30pm I received a call from the Sears service man stating he was en route to my residence to work on the washer. I advised him I had cancelled the call. When I asked him when he had received my service call, he replied he had just received the call at 2:00pm. I will never use Sears Home Service again and I have been a loyal Sears customer since 1969. No longer. Robert.

+ -1 moreI have a service agreement with Sears. They have all these parts made in China in their applicances and they don't last as long. I have no complaints about having the service contract. They'll either or fix it or get you a new one. It's expensive, but it's worth it. I had my lawn tractor worked on and it cost about $500 this year. Their personell are high quality and they fix the appliances. You call 1800-formyhome. It pays for itself in a little while. I had trouble with my washing machine and they came and serviced it because I had the warranty and saved $500 as that is how much work they did. I had the lawn tractor worked on in January and the refrigerator is not working right, right now and I think it needs freon. They had to put blades on the lawn tractor and sharpen it up; I haven't use anyone else, they may be cheaper, but Sears takes care of the biggest part, if something goes out if you have a service contract. They fixed my air conditioner from 2000. They service guy said they don't make them that good anymore. It used to take a long time to get an appointment. If I call, they usually come out the next day. I am a nurse and trust Sears and will continue to use them.

The guys that installed it did a really good job and they came in and were very professional and didn't talk a lot and just got the job done. It was kind of a problem with installing it because of the flooring we have but they didn't have a problem with it. They were right on time.

+ -1 moreIt is impossible to find a repairman or appliance service company in Lubbock, Texas, that repairs LG Washers and Dryers. I finally found one. Gus, the brilliant repairman, was punctual, friendly, very knowledgable, and immediately got my washer going again. I cannot say enought about the service of A&E Service, part of Sears Home Service. If you own an LG appliance (largel), this is the guy to call. They are here in Lubbock, not in Plainview. Gus and his team are very well-trained, experienced, and know exactly what they are doing. Thank You, Gus, for your exceptional care of my LG Washer.
Description of Work: My LG Washer stopped in the middle of the cycle, with soapy water and wet clothes still in the drum. I drained the drum of the water and removed the clothes. The drum would not spin, and it made a horrible grinding noise. I thought, where am I going to find someone local to repair my LG Washer!!! There is no one locally that wants to touch an LG, and now I know why. The machine has a computer brain, and no one is trained on repairing this machine. Trusts me, I called every appliance repair company in the phone book, even the ones that stated they repaired LG appliances. No one could repair my wahser. I finally called 1st Source Servall Appliance Service Parts, and they directed me to A&E Service, a part of Sears Home Services. I immediately got an appointment the very next day, and when Gus, the repairman, came out, he wirelessly connected to my washer, ran it through some diagnostics, and shortly discovered that the pumps that drain the drum were bad. He ordered the correct parts and they arrilved two days later, on a Friday. Then the repairman returned to replace the pumps, and everything is great again. LG Washers and Dryers are wonderful until they break. Now, I know where to find an LG repairman, and so do you.

+ -1 moreAfter changing the water filter in my 5 year old Kenmore refrigerator, water started leaking from the in-door water dispenser. Although my fridge was no longer under warranty, I decided to go with Sears because that's where I purchased it. I used the online appointment booking process, which was straightforward, although I was disappointed to see that I could only schedule service in 4-hour segments, so I picked 8am to noon. On the day of the service, the tech called about 15 minutes before arriving at about 9am. Upon arrival he inspected the fridge and quickly diagnosed the problem. He told me the price of the part and the repair, which was much higher than I originally expected, but at least he told me up front. (The cost just for the visit is $65 if you don't do the repair). The issue I have with the price is that the part was around $90, but the labor was close to $200 - for a ten minute repair! That said, the work was done quickly, the tech charged my credit card without any problems, and the work is warranted for 90 days. I guess it's sort of like going to the dealership for service - the work is usually good, but the price is hefty.
Description of Work: Had repair to fix leaking refrigerator water line. Tech replaced the valve for the water line that services the water dispenser and ice maker.

+ -1 moreMy dad's garbage disposer started leaking water. Since he was in the hospital recovering from surgery, I had the task of having it replaced. Sears had the best price for a 3/4 horsepower model. Shaila, my salesperson, was very professional in helping me choose the right model and scheduling the installation. My only issue was receiving a call the day before the scheduled installation from the contractor assigned to the job by Sears. She stated she was overbooked for Saturday and would have to move the install to Monday or Tuesday. Given the kitchen sink was unusable due to the old disposer leaking, I told her this was unacceptable. She still said she could not make the scheduled install date of Saturday. I called Sears' main install number and explained the situation to their rep. Their phone rep was awesome! She spent two hours resolving the issue, called me back and said the install would take place as scheduled. She even sent me a $25 Sears gift card to compensate me for my trouble. The disposer was installed as scheduled. Although Sears' contractor wasn't too happy about doing it at 5 PM on a Saturday, it was installed as scheduled and the install work was done properly.
