STAY, STAY FAR AWAY. I would give them a 0 star if I could. First off then came with a large trailer. It was missing one of its 4 wheels. I didn't notice until after fully loading. blankets used were damped and dirty. One of the guy had ashma and could hardly lift anything. I had to help out because I did not want him to drop or damage anything. When I was helping my wife with other things, the ashma guy drop 2 of our mirrored cabinet and DESTROYED THEM. They said they had insurrance and had to call it in. (I thought it would be replaced) Once we arrived at the new house, they started to unload and my wife started to notice some damages to the furniture. She told the guy and he started to get annoyed and said what damages? as they moved more and more furniture in, more and more furniture were notice something wrong with them. He started to argue with my wife and they had a screaming battle. while in the middle of the arguement, he closed the trailler and was about to leave with the rest of our furniture. THEY ASKED FOR THE PAYMENT IN FULL IN CASH TO FINISH THE JOB. I called the office and explain what was going on, and they finished the job. THEN ASKED FOR PAYMENT IN CASH. I said I don't have that much cash on me and they said they could follow me to a ATM. I was really suspicious of what was going on. ( they said their CC app or didn't have the card reader on them.) BS. I said i will pay by check or by CC. waited for 2 hours to talk to someone at the office and the lady told me the same BS story of their machine not working. Then they finally took my CC and charged more than what was on the receipt. Then when I called later about the insurance, THEY ONLY PAY .60 CENT PER POUND OF ANY ITEM THEY DESTROYED. so if you have a 1 lb vase worth 300 dollars and they broke it. WE HAD OVER 1K IN DAMAGES AND THEY ARE GIVING US A HARD WITH WITH JUST REFUNDING WHAT WE PAYED OF 591.50 THEIR INSURANCE WILL ONLY PAY YOU .60 CENT. PLEASE , PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS DIRTY, UNPROFESSIONAL MOVERS.

At 8:05 a.m. I contacted company because no one had contacted me to confirm appointment, nor were they on time. When I spoke with the owner, he indicated "I'm sorry, I have you down for 8:00 a.m., but my driver had to make a delivery before your appointment. I'll have someone reach out to you to let you know when they would be at your home to start the move." I communicated to the owner of this company that I was on a tight schedule and needed the movers here when they were promised. At 9:40 a.m., still no movers. I was then called by the mover who said they were 20 minutes away. When I asked the mover why he was so late, he indicated that he was called in at the last moment. So this means that the owner lied about having someone on their way to appease and safe face for himself. This late start caused me to miss two other appointments due to being over two hours late. What is also interesting, I read "F" ratings for Sanford and Son. The Groupon is under S&S Moving. If I had known this was the same company, I never would have purchased. Do not be fooled by the name change. It is the same poor service that you will find from this company - no matter what name they use. At the end of the move (it took less than two hours), I was told that credit cards would not be accepted. This was not communicated to me prior to the appointment. The owner tried everything to get me to go get cash, money order, etc. Considering I waited for 2 hours and 10 minutes, I would think this man would do something to accommodate the inconvenience. Ultimately accepted the card, but not without arguing with him for 10-15 minutes. Ridiculous! However, there was a bright spot in this fiasco - the movers were great! Too bad they work for this company. James and his son did an awesome job, alerted me to any problems with items that were boxed or bagged improperly and made sure to protect mirrors and pictures. I would use them again in the future, if I didn't have to use S&S Moving, Sanford and Son Moving, or whoever they want to be called. Do not use if you want a stress-free, drama-free move. You get what you pay for, you truly do!
Description of Work: Made appointment for 8:00 a.m. on November 14, 2015. Purchased Groupon for $40.00 for two hours, one truck and two movers. Since it is a two hour minimum, I would have to pay an additional $125.00 payable at the completion of the move. The move needed to get done, so the it is, what it is.

Can you give zero stars? I called and made an appointment using a groupon. They were very flexible on times. i guess cause they had no intent on making the time they quoted. The person at the desk was friendly but not informative. i even asked if there was anything else i should know. Well, i guess knowing that i needed a two hour minimum would have been fine when i told her i had a groupon for one hour. So, after setting a time, I take off at lunch to meet them on a busy week at the office. I received a call indicating they would be a little late. After a couple more hours, i got another call saying that it would be even later. How much later? Try six hours. Thanks a lot. don't worry, i only bill about $175/hour for my time as a consultant. So, they finally show up and try to get me to sign everything. Turns out that is when they decide to tell me there is a two hour minimum. After they have already started loading stuff in their truck., I said that was BS and i wasn't going to pay them for any extra time. At that point, they weren't getting another dollar from me. He said his manager would work something out with. I guess if you consider accusing me of lying is working something out, then he did. he said his dispatcher would have told me about the two hour minimum. I told him that was a complete lie as i would have canceled the service at the point. He went on and on about it. Of course, the drivers said it happens all the time, so i guess maybe i wasn't the only one. They don't care about anyone but making a buck. Im pretty confident in saying they have no idea how to run a business and i'd bet within 2-3 years, they will be out of business. DON'T USE THESE GUYS PERIOD.
Description of Work: Provider was hired to move a few items (couches/bed/etc.). All in all job, including driving time, should have taken one hour max. Due to the deceptive practices, all they did was move bed frame in and out of a truck.

Not great.
Description of Work: They quoted me 3-4 hours which I guessed probably more like 4-5 but that's ok. In fact it took 6 partly because I do have a large refigerator that had to go upstairs but instead of taking the doors off of it, they rammed it through a doorway and busted my door jam, busted trim and then bent and scratched the front of my stainless steel fridge as well as where the doors conect to the main compartment. So, basically, it functions, but looks like crap now and I couldnt even sell it if I wanted to. I also ended up with gashes in my trim and my dry wall that I had JUST had put in new because I update the house before moving in. Now, I just sent an email with pictures regarding the problem and haven't heard back, so we shall see but I don't have high hopes.

I bought a Groupon for a discount on the first hour of service with these movers and they never showed up or called to tell me they were not going to make it. I called them and they promised to make me their first stop the next morning but that didnt happen either. After waiting to hear from them the next morning, I called them and they gave the same excuse as the night before and told me they would call me after they completed that job in order to give me a time frame, but again i never heard from them. This was hands down the worst service and biggest inconvenience ever. I am a single mom and I had to rent a moving truck and pay random people to move my stuff out of my 3BR, second floor apartment into my home. Not having professional movers resulted in some of my furniniture getting damaged but I was in a bind and no other moving service providers had availability at the last minute. I had to pay additional fees to my apartment for staying one more day and bottom line the inconvenience they caused me ended up costing me more than i would have paid for movers. I would not refer these overs to anyone.
