Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

We called Roto Rooter on a Saturday and they said they couldn't come until Sunday between 10-2, which was fine -- on a weekend, with a freeze hitting Houston, we didn't expect much more. But around noon on Sunday they called to say they couldn't come after all. They didn't have any available plumbers, they said. No other explanation -- they just weren't coming. If someone can't do a job, they should at least have the courtesy to tell you in advance -- that way you can just move on to the next guy. And if something comes up at the last minute, they should tell you what happened and how they're going to make it up to you. Awful service -- not deserving of an A rating.

They were good, they were on time and they performed a service and fixed the problem, price is pretty decent. And they were nice to our dog also.

Roto-Rooter was great. I have a home insurance policy that was supposed to cover it. Only, they could not get anyone there till the following Monday and I had a stuck up kitchen sink. So, I said forget that. I opened the phone book and it came open to Roto-Rooter. I have heard of them before so I called them. They came right out and did the job. They charged me $169 and it was well-worth it. He told me that if he had to use his little tool, it would be $169 and if he had to get the big tool, it would be $269. He just went in with the little tool and it came right out. I think the price was fair. He was really very nice. Quality was fine. They just had to take out bunch of things that should not have gone down the disposal. They came just when they said they were going to come and they called me 20 minutes before they were getting here. They just did it very fast. He told me right upfront what it was going to cost before he even started and I appreciated that and he did it.

They were punctual and didn't take long. However, they charged to much for a small amount of labor. I felt like I was being talked down to.

After they were called, they responded fairly quickly within 30 minutes to notify me they would have a technician come to my location within 60 to 90 minutes. The technician was very careful and helpful. He cleared the drain and made sure it drained quickly.

Root-Rooter sent out technician Sebastian #2541 to check leak in laundry room. The drain for the washing machine was cleared. Company was a little pricey but Sebastian did an excellent job. He was prompt, arrived on time, very efficient and very kind. I would use them again. Thank you Sebastain :)

The technician quickly diagnosed the problem, and set to clearing out the blockage. He even went back behind the block to make sure there was not a second one. In a very short time the system was flowing again as it is supposed to.

The main sewer line leaving the house clogged up and nothing would drain. I found Roto-Rooter on Angie's List and, based on reviews, hired them to find and fix the problem. It was a real pleasure working with the tech, Michael McDaniel, to locate and clear the clog through the main clean-out. He had all the latest electronic equipment to locate the clean-out that was buried in our flower beds. We will definitely use Roto-Rooter for any future plumbing issues. Thanks Michael!

Every few years I need someone to clear my kitchen drain. Called and was amazed they could come out within an hour on a Saturday. Then the bad news, he wanted to charge me $300 for the job. Normally about a $150 job. Sorry, I'm not paying double.

The provider scheduled service, and then called to cancel despite the fact I told them I had a burst pipe and water flooding my back yard. They kept me waiting for about four hours, then called to tell me they were not going to come that day. The were polite and apologetic, but do not use them for an emergency situation if you don't want to risk this happening to you. It boiled down to them not wanting to send someone out late, and for an "emergency plumber," that should not matter.

1st tech that arrived on 12/05/15 was not able to unclog drain, but scheduled for another tech to come out to property on 12/06/15. Both techs were courteous and on time, but 2nd tech (Clyde, #979) seemed to have more knowledge of plumbing problem. He provided many details of why drain could be clogged & including addition problem with the waste & overflow connection. I was not able to afford the costs to reconnect the waste & overflow valve, but will use Roto-Rooter to complete this tack at a later date. I highly recommend using Roto-Rooter.

Technician arrived within 3 hours of my call on the day after Thanksgiving, a day when it is usually difficult to find a plumber! The work was completed quickly and problem solved. It cost more than I have had to pay in the past for this work but they did honor the Angie's List discount.

The service was great. Roto-Rooter was able to get a plumber out within 3 hours of our initial call for assistance. They called us 45 minutes prior to the technicians arrival. Joseph (the technician) arrived and was extremely friendly. He was able to run the snake and had our line cleared within 30 minutes of his arrival. He double checked the main kitchen and garbage disposal lines, and was out. Joseph was great.

The gentleman who came out was very courteous and professional.

I called in the morning and told Roto Rooter that the unit was vacant and the technician would need to use a lock box code to get the key to enter. The person on the line said she would have to get management approval for use of the lock box. She came back and said that she had that approval; she said that they would need contact with me throughout the service. In other words, I would have to answer the phone each time they called and would have to give approval for the service after they figured out what was wrong. I agreed. I gave the address and all of my information. I was given a 9 am to 12 noon window. About an hour later, at around 8 am, Roto Rooter called and told me the technician was on the way. At around 9 am, I got another call. They asked for the unit number. I had given that before but I gave it again. Ten minutes later, the technician called and told me that no one was home. I told him that no one would be home and that he should use the lock box code that I gave him. He said that he needs management approval for that and that he would call me back. I immediately called Roto Rooter and after some time was transferred to a member of management. That person (Vince) said he would investigate. Ten more minutes later, the switchboard person called and said that someone must be home. I told her that there was already management approval to use the lock box. She said that she was not the person I spoke to initially and that she was told that someone needed to be home. I asked to speak to management. I was forwarded to Vince again. I told him what I was told. He told me that the policy must have been changed and that now a person was needed. Thank you for wasting my time Roto Rooter. My problem is still a problem; it has not been solved and I am back on the phone looking for someone to help. This was a disappointment. They should know their own policies! They could have communicated that during the original call and I could have saved about an hour of my time today. That and my problem would likely be fixed now if I had not been distracted by this company.

Technician Bryan Rice came out the same day I called for service. He arrived as scheduled and promptly inspected my clogged drainage system. Bryan explained the water jet cleaning process and proceeded to thoroughly clean the drains. He was very professional and quickly completed the job to my complete satisifaction. Roto-Rooter was very easy to deal with from the initial call to the completed job. They were professional and did exactly what they said they would do. I will definitely use them if the need arises and I recommend them to anyone who needs quality service at a fair price.

Technician Michael Elliott showed up promptly. Courteous and professional. Tracked down the problem and fixed it in no time. Would definitely use this service again.

Our kitchen sink was clogged and unresponsive to anything we did. I called Roto Rooter of Houston and they put me in touch with the franchise in our town. The service person, Jason Wilson, was at our house about an hour later and worked diligently to fix the problem. It was not a clog in our sink drain--it was in the pipes. He went over the cost before he began the work for the service he was providing. The clog was extremely difficult, but he persisted snaking the pipes from the roof and from under the sink until our drains were totally clear. He even treated them with a preventative solution so that it wouldn't happen again any time soon.

Air conditioner drain shares the pipe with laundry room sink and the pipe was clogged causing the sink to fill with water. Roto-rooter was the only company that responded out of four I called. Tyler was at our home in 30 minutes. He was cordial and knowledgeable. It was a tough clog that had been building for many years. It took several runs for clog to finally dislodge and when it did it was like volcano spewing built up grim and debris. Tyler spent about two hours to complete the job and was very good at taking care of the problematic drain and providing us with a discount coupon for the service. One small glitch is he had to buy plumbers putty to seal one of the old pipe joints to keep it from leaking. He gave us a bottle of roto drain clean for preventative maintenance. Thank you Tyler for a job well done.

Blake, employees number 2662 was very professional. He explained every step. He showed me the video footage, as he was working, of any area with problems. He marked all drains with sprinkler flags, per my request, so we could find them in the future. He found drains that have been covered over for years. He cleaned out the entire drainage system - 13 drains - many of which had been covered over for years, and we had not been able to find. He cleared out the area around drains so they would flow correctly. He recommended a course of action to keep the problem from happening again.

Roto- Rooter sent a technician, Sebastian Rodriquez, to evaluate, provide estimate, and make complete any repairs or service if I agreed to the estimate. Sebastian was professional, explained everything very well, and completed the job. So far, ( it has only been a couple of hours) the septic line appears to be clear and working correctly. Sebastian explained that there was a 6 month guarantee with this service and also provide a bottle of something to put down the drain monthly to help keep it clean. Sebastian was very thorough with everything he did and said. Very pleased with the service and so far the outcome. I will use again should the need arise.

Expensive. My normal provider, a company you get Moore from, does it for 75.00 and are prompt and quick. Just happened people were in worse shape than me with the flood. Yet mine was causing the ac to stop running as the drain was clogged.So I guess I paid the upcharge to get someone. You do get a whopping 6 month guarantee ;)

I was very happy with Fred and Robert. My drain pipe cap outside was jammed. After 10 minutes, they could have just cracked it which would have cost me more to repair it, or charged me more to bring the equipment into a bathroom and remove a commode, but they didn't. They worked hard to get it loose. Very honest approach. Everything turned out great.
