Quality Door Service

My garage door wouldn't stay closed. It would go down and come back up. I did all I could think of to fix it (cleaned sensors, etc.), but it didn't work, so I found Quality on Angie's list and they came out on a Saturday morning and fixed the door in about 10 minutes. I had overlooked the adjustment of the spring/drive. Since they were there, they went ahead and inspected serviced the doors. Didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. It was good to know it wasn't going to be a garage door opener replacement. Will use them again if I ever need anything. He even told me how to care for the doors on my own using some Liquid Wrench.

Called them at 10:45, and said they would be on the way to my house within 15 minutes. They rang my doorbell, and by the time I had come outside they were already working to fix the problem. Very impressive. Not only did they fix the problem, but they installed some screws for free that the builder had forgotten. All told, my door was fixed within an hour of calling them. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

They came out when they said they would. They told me what they were going to do and how much it would cost. They fixed the lock.

We had just had our driveway gate automated and were looking for someone to add an automatic garage door opener and make both the garage door and the gate work with one transmitter. We were also missing a wheel from our garage door, and we weren't sure if there was any additional damage. Bob came out on a Saturday morning to look at the door to assess the need for repairs. He and his partner then offered to do the work on the spot. In about an hour they had repaired the door, lubricated both garage doors, and added an automatic opener. Bob took the time to explain how everything worked and what I needed to do to keep everything in working order. He even warned me that the chlorine we kept in the garage could be harmful to the door opener and to our cars, something I'd never heard before. Bob was also able to give us one radio transmitter with buttons to open both the garage door and the gate. Another company had wanted to charge us to install an expensive radio receiver, but it turned out not to be necessary. We got exactly what we wanted for a great price and in a quick, professional job. I would highly recommend Quality Door to anyone in need of garage door service.

I purchased the Daily Deal to have Quality Door Service perform an inspection and tuning of our garage door. We have the occasional problem where the door will stop after about a foot and we have to keep clicking the button until it goes all the way. They made various adjustments and lubricated the wheels and the problem went away. The best thing about Quality Door Service is that they noticed that the wrong springs were installed on the garage door. This is really dangerous because if the door were ever to fall, it would be the dead weight of the door, which could seriously injure or even kill someone small. They were able to come back a couple days later to install the proper springs. I wouldn't hesitate to call them again if i have any problems with the garage door.

What a nice and honest man - Bob W. Not too many around like Bob anymore! I expected to be told we needed new garage door and opener - but Bob said I can fix it, it still has some life left in it. He fixed it in about 36 minutes and saved me a lot of bucks! Thank you Bob.

Quick response from Owner, Bob, who was out to perform service several days later. Adjusted and lubricated my doors, which were binding and refusing to close and making a lot of noise (in retrospect). Doors operate quietly and smoothly now and Bob left me instructions for oiling twice a year to maintain proper operation. I'm a happy camper and would recommend/use Quality Door Service again in the future.

My garage door opener stalled and I accidentally crashed into the partially closed door. Based on an Angie's List rating, I contacted Quality Door Service and Bob and his team came out within a couple of hours of my call on a Sunday. They repaired the door and it looks as good as new and saved me the cost of replacing an expensive insulated garage door. They also replaced the weather-stripping around the door. Additionally, I asked them Bob for advice on replacing our automatic door opener. He took a look at our existing opener and informed us that is was not worth repairing because it is almost 20 years old. He made some recommendations for replacing it, including some upgrade features for a very fair price. Since he did not have a new opener on his truck, he scheduled to come out the next day to replace it. The new opener is vastly superior to our old one; it is super quiet and response. When it was time to pay, Bob asked how I heard about Quality Door Service. I told him it was Angie's List, he gave me a $20 discount. I highly recommend Quality Door Service.

They were prompt, got the job done quickly, professional, explained everything, and very reasonably priced. I would definitely use them again!

Mr. Myers was on time, professional, and friendly. He had all the supplies with him that he needed to do the job. He cleaned up after himself took it with him. He welcomed and answered any questions that I had. He made realistic recommendations without solicitations. My wife and children felt safe with he and his assistant as he came through the house. He was very professional without being intimidating. I highly recommend him.

Great job. They were right on time, had the parts needed, and got my garage door working again in no time, for a much more reasonable cost than the last serviceman I had out. I would definitely use Bob again.

Bob came exactly at the time we had scheduled and finished everything when he said he would. He removed the old garage doors and opener and installed everything new including all new wiring for the sensors and switches. He made an extra trip out to bring a sample of the door color so I could select ahead of time. The quality of the work was excellent and there was no mess left over. Both new doors operate smoothly and it's all much more quite that than the old ones. He was hesitant to reinstall my alarm sensors on the new doors but helped me to do it since I was not really able to do it myself that day. He came in the past and made some repairs to my old doors that kept them going a while longer for a very low price. I am very happy with the new doors and openers and would recommend this company highly.

Bob Myers responded to my call on the same day I called. Upon arrival, the first thing he noticed was the nails missing in my gate to the back yard. He immediately replaced the nails with screws. Then he expertly repaired my Genie garage door opener and decided that my remote needed to be reset, because the button on the remote seemed to be lose. He reset it to use the top button. The remote was reset, my garage door opener repaired and lubricated very professionally and on time. I appreciate this company's attention to my needs and their personal service.

I have had incredibly positive experiences with Quality Door Service and fully intend to call them for all my garage door needs. Bob was incredibly responsive, coming out for an estimate within a day or two of my first phone call and scheduling all the work for within a couple days after that. He was punctual and called when he was on his way over to give me a heads up. He works efficiently and answered all my questions about the openers and maintenance, and gave me a fair appraisal of what parts (left over from the old owner) would hold up over time, and what needed to be replaced. The installation process went very smoothly and professionally. Bob explained everything in detail and I could not be happier with how things turned out. After someone rear-ended my garage and knocked the rails out of alignment, Bob showed up the next day and fixed everything up like new. He also troubleshooted a few problems that were my own fault (not keeping the doors clean, et al.) for no extra charge. The customer service is the best I've experienced in Houston. I would highly recommend Quality Door Service to EVERYONE I know. They are trustworthly, reliable, responsive, and just plain friendly as well. A+ on all fronts.

Went very well. They showed up right on time (calling about 30 minutes before to let me know they were coming). They did a great job of removing the old system, cleaning up and as I mentioned above, took the time to reprogram my remote openers in my two cars. Would highly recommend them and will use again ... in 10-15 years :)

I had a double garage door of poor quality installed with my new home (3 years old). And of course, it wasn't properly installed with no support in the middle section where the metal door buckled and broke. The metal door broke on Monday, so my first action was to check Angie's List and I found Quality Door Service. Bob was out that afternoon, spent time with me on my options. He gave me a quote which was in line with other quotes I received, but I know ithe quality of door he installed was much better. He was back on Wednesday morning (my earliest), on time, and with all the correct parts and pieces. He replaced the door and ensured the new door was well supported in the middle. He also ensured I knew how to maintain everything. (I will remember : Tax day and Holloween!) My thanks go to Bob for a great job. I really appreciate the extra time and effort making sure everything was good before he left.

I have two single garage doors. One broke Saturday afternoon and wouldn't go up. After checking Angie's List I called Quality Door Service. The call was answered by Bob's wife and was turned over to him. I didn't expect a service call until Monday as I didn't want to pay extra for Sunday service. Bob assured me there is no additional charge and he and his helper showed up promptly at 10:00 am Sunday. He knew exactly what the problem was and replaced a very worn gear. He greased and adjusted both doors and made sure I was using the right grease when I did the greasing myself. When he was about to leave he asked if the remotes worked ok as most people forget to ask him. I mentioned that one was not working very well and wouldn't open until you drove up right in front of the door. He showed me a single remote that would control both doors. There was absolutely no pressure to buy them, but I bought two. They work beautifully and Bob made sure they did before he left. He and his helper were very polite and professional. I thought his price was very reasonable as I've had other garage door repair men before. I would definitely use him again.

I called Bob (the owner) yesterday and we made an appointment for today. He told me that he would call 30 minutes before arriving and he did. Although I had already spent more than $100 trying solutions that other garage door people had suggested, Bob found that my problem was simply a staple shorting out the wire to the safety beam (something that I had looked for but hadn't found). He also pointed out that the rollers were shot, causing a loud screeching sound when the door opened or closed, and he replaced them and lubricated the hinges. One of the remotes also wasn't working. Bob found the problem (wrong battery) and also programmed the door opener into my truck. When he left, I had a fully functioning garage door opener and a much quieter garage door. I couldn't be happier.

As always with Quality Door Service, it went awesomely! My door got stuck at 5:30 Friday night and I called Bob right away. He explained how to close the door manually and told me he'd be out between 10:00 Am and Noon the next morning (Saturday -- he's open 7 days a week!). He called me the next morning when he was on his way and showed up at exactly 10:00. I didnt think to remind Bob that I had originally gotten his company's name from Angieslist when I used him the last time (December 2009) but he reminded me and he gave me the Angieslist discount! I'd never have found Bob's company without my Angieslist membership. I love Quality Door Service and I love Angieslist!!

Called to get an estimate on the spring replacement and rollers. Did not discuss the single wide at the time. Serviceman and helper arrived on schedule and performed service promptly and professionally. Workers were polite and courteous and efficient. Work was performed in a quality manner. I then discussed the second single wide and got a very reasonable bid to repair, not replace the busted door. Work was completed as before, efficiently and in a quality manner. Very satisfied with the price and service performed.

We contacted Quality Door Service via email through their website and requested that the door repair be scheduled Tuesday afternoon, March 1. Bob showed up in the afternoon when he said he would, fixed the door, lubricated rollers and bearings and adjusted door travel. Great on-time service.

Called Quality Door Service and spoke with Bob when my garage door spring broke. He said he would be at house before noon and would call on the way. He called when 30 minutes out and called again a couple of minutes out. He repaired door spring, mentioned that the door had only one spring instead of two because builders try to save money. When one breaks and it is only one, guess what, you are locked in or out. If door has 2 springs and one breaks, you can get in/out while waiting to get repaired. He repaired and installed 2 springs, replaced worn out wheels, lubed and greased entire system, all wheels, hinges and lubed pulley tracks. Showed me what to lubricate and how often and what to use. He arrived, repaired door and was gone by 1130 which beat his estimated arrival time of noon...... He was very professional customer service oriented. I would definitely use him again and recommend to anyone... Job well done.
