The reason I hired Murle Atherton to build the cabinets was based on his price, and on the rapport we were able to develop in the interview. His sketch seem to hit what I wanted dead on. The overall quality of what he built is good, but not what I had in mind. In the picture the cabinets had shaker panel doors and drawers, what was provided was flat-panel. They do look nice but they're not shaker. I was very firm in that I wanted the desktop to be made of butcher block and to be 28 inches above the floor. Unfortunately his cabinet maker built the cabinet 30 inches high which no one discovered until I went to sit at the desk to use my computer. It required that I have Murle return and cut 2 inches off the bottom in order to get the desired height. Because of the removal and reinstallation a few flaws developed in the finish. Overall the cabinets look nice and function well, but are not what I desired. I'm not sure if I would hire him again.

It went perfect....got all the help I asked for to restore my house, designs for the kitchen, baths , excellent .advice on what could be done and what could not be done within reason of costs. Any problems are responded to with a meeting with the owner and resolved immediately. At the time, I had a full time job so I was able to turn a key to the house over to the owner and did not worry about one thing.as regarded the safety of my house and personal items left in the house. My house flooded again three weeks ago and i am cureently working on a new contract with this company. I trust , trust, trust this business owner.

Everything was as promised

Not well. We were working, so we were not at home to correct errors immediately. The general contractor seemed a very nice man but would not pass on any details to his subs. The subs would come in, make assumptions and would have to redo because he did not pass on the info. HE CHARGED US FOR ALL OF THE REWORK! We finally asked him to leave before it was complete due to the fact that it took forever and he was charging us for every minute. Since the completion; the plumbing has had problems, the garage door opener died (he hit it with his truck), the back door has had to be repaired and the alarm had to be replaced (slamming during construction) the sinks had to be fixed and the tub and lighting were installed incorrectly. They were like bulls in a china shop because we were not here during the work. The final cost was 2X the initial estimate after subtracting for our upgrades.. His main subs were good guys and excellent at their job but he never relayed info to them. Followup a year later: They did not put in an access door for the shower heads and sprayers. The screens clogged with rust and now we have to dismantle the wall to simply clean the strainers. We have installed a filter to prevent this in the future. What a mess.
