They came out and measured the house. When I mentioned that a few of the rooms were not under the 2nd story roof, they went back out and looked and readjusted their quote. The quote was the same as what we paid - which is always a relief! When stepping on the platform that the heating & A/C units were on in the attic, it broke through the Sheetrock. When I called to let them know, they sent out crew the next days to fix the Sheetrock and paint the ceiling and walls (I had the paint, since I had already painted it), and did not charge me at all for that. I appreciated any provider that stands behind their work and does not give excuses for when mistakes happen. They can also blow in insulation between the brick and the Sheetrock on the first floor. When we get the funds, I will have them do that as well.

Susanna came to our home, we told her about our issues with the top floor of our house always being hot and humid due to the fact that the builder here in Baytown that built our home did not put a moisture barrier between our walls and exterior. Walls were damp and upstairs too hot during the summer months and our light bills were sky high. The day after the work was completed it was a record hot day, we walked up the stairs in the middle of the day and were met with a cool dry environment, we couldn't have been more please. The first time in almost 20 years of fighting this issue we finally found the fix.

After gathering information on different types of attic insultation, we decided to go with the blown in type due to the better R value and environmental factors. The estimator came out at a convenient time, measured the house (note: he measured the perimeter on the ground floor not the dimensions of the internal attic space) and provided an estimate on the spot. The estimate included $15 for a recessed light dam, and $130 for 26 baffles to keep the sprayed insulation out of the attic eaves. After evaluating other options and estimates, we decided to go with Payless. Their scheduler was able to set up a time for the work that met with our schedules. Their turnaround time is pretty quick. We did not ask them to remove the old insulation from our attic. We removed the big junk from the attic, and they sprayed the new insulation on top of everything else. The installers were very efficient and cleaned up after themselves. It took them about 3 hours to install 1270 feet of 10.6 inches of insulation, which was possible due to it being a cool overcast day and the attic was not too hot. The installers did point out an issue with my A/C to be checked out and showed me the finished installation. I would say they did a good job although I have not really noticed any increase in temperature comfort or reduced energy consumption after the installation.

The installers (Campos and Santiago) were on time, professional, and most of all were very neat and cleaned up afterwards. They laid plastic before starting their work and vacuumed anything left on the floor. They installed an attic tent also. Bret, the salesman, came by afterward to inspect the job. We were impressed and would highly recommend them.

everything went well from my first call to them through performance of the work. the only thing that couldn't be done was insulation of my exterior walls through the mortar lines of my brick home as the mortar lines aren't wide enough for the drill bit and to have drilled the holes would have damaged the brick. the crew let me know this before performing the work which was much appreciated. they provided an alternative solution of going through the sheet rock which I may do at a later time. the crew did a great job of treating my home with respect and did a great job of cleaning up when they were done. I couldn't have been happier with the service.

They were very good, very professional and they showed up on time when they said they would be there.

.Payless sent 2 workers who spent all day removing old attic insulation and debris (more debris than insulation). They were punctual, friendly and cleaned up everything before they left. We needed some electrical work done before new insulation blown in, so Payless came back on 11/21/14 to build knee wall in attic and blow in new insulation. The workers were punctual, friendly and cleaned up before they left. We are very happy with the way attic turned out. The house is warmer and the attic no longer looks like a dump. The estimate was reasonable and Susana was very kind & professional. She apologized for the original mishap and even gave us a gift card to show how sorry she was for missing the original appointment. If I decide to have insulation installed, I will use this company. The only reason we have decided to hold off is because we plan to sell in 4 months.

The guy was extraordinarily upfront. His intent seemed to be to save me money. We wanted walls insulated and he was very clear about what he could do and what he could not do and he also told us how we could check whether our walls already had insulation without paying them to do it and then the room we wanted insulated he told us that they had to charge a minimum price to come out and we all agreed that it was way too high for this one room. So, he actually didn't try to pressure us at all and we ended up putting in the insulation our self.

They did very well. I liked the fact that the lady that came and quoted for me was extemely thorough and very knowledgable. They did very good. We got what we paid for. It's working out amazing, incredible.

They were very efficient, they got the job done quickly and there's no mess. They're good. I was pleased with their work, they came when they said they would and the people were very pleasant. They're neat and tidy and I had no complaints.

It went very well. Pricing was competitive. They can to my house to measure and inspect and give me a quote and information. Workers were punctual, professional, friendly, and polite. They worked hard and cleaned up after themselves. They were careful about my cat being in the house and having wood laminate floors. They showed me their work before leaving to confirm it was all ok. I felt I was given all the information up front I needed to make the decision to go with them. I am happy I did, as they did a great job!

I have nothing but the highest regard for the members of the Payless Insulation team. They did an excellent job. My wife was on hand when they performed their work and she said it was flawless. They covered our new floors and left our home as clean as when they arrived. The insulation in our attics looks amazing, very even across all portions of the attics. Their install team also found an area that was completely missing insulation and was hidden from view by a large piece of wood. They filled the area with insulation and I am certain this will have an impact on our utility bills. In total we had 2990 sq. ft of Celbar cellulose insulation blown into our attic areas. We also had batt insulation removed from some of our hot/cold walls and replace with the Ultratouch cotton denim insulation. As was stated before the attics resemble freshly fallen snow (except the insulation is a grey color) it was even across the entire area and care was taken to install denny boards in certain areas so the insulation would stay in those areas. The experience from the quote to the install was flawless, their professionalism and expertise is remarkable. I would have no reservations in recommending them to friends and family, it as an A+ experience all around.

I would highly recommend Payless Insulation.The insulation was perfectly smooth and level throughout both attics. The price was right, and they vacuumed every inch of carpet after they picked up the plastic walkway they had put down. Once again, I would highly recommend these guys. They just did a super job.

Quick response to my inquiry and a good conversation with them prior to getting the proposal. The proposal was received timely and was very reasonable. What a fantastic crew. In the attic the worker smelled gas. Thanks to him calling it out and with a quick peek he said it was our hvac. We were able to call the plumber right over and fix the issue. They blew another layer of insulation in the attic and inside walls in two bedrooms and a bathroom. They worked hard all day (8+ straight hours of blowing insulation) and they were fantastic in caring for our home. They covered our floor, ceiling fans, outlets, and TVs. The house was pretty clean when they finished considering they had to drill the walls and blow insulation. Would be awesome if they had painting/patching services too. Very happy with the services.

The insulation itself was quick and done well (they cleaned up well and showed up on time) and we were told that with the new insulation, we would be able to feel it. However, they mentioned that because of the home, there wouldn't be a drastic effect but it would help some. The insulation was done around our master bedroom since it's surrounded by the attic. We don't really feel the difference... perhaps because it's very little. We even purchased online (not from Insulation Guru) a zippered shield for both attics (because Payless didn't offer the size). Unfortunately, in the winters we don't keep our heat so high because our room is the only "cool" room and our bedroom is right around the attic whereas the other rooms in the house are just super hot (we don't need our child and our guests sweating through the nights) and when the weather is warmer, we don't lower the AC because the rest of the house is cool but our bedroom feels like a mini sauna. We relied on their expertise and paid them a good amount of $$ so that at the end of the day, our winters and summers would feel like we are saving money.

The salesman was a nice guy, but was a bit of a turn-off because of his hard sell on getting us to remove all of our present insulation and rat turds. We informed him that we had a service come out and remove all the rats. The rats had burrowed holes through our present attic strips, rendering it ineffective. We did not want to remove the present insulation sheets because I'm sure it will still have some insulation value. In addition, we did not care about removing the rat turds because this is Texas, and at some point, a rat will return, so why bother cleaning it up? No one ever goes in our attic. That portion of the service would have been an additional $1,500 or so (I can remember the exact price). Anyway, after the salesman left, he never called. We waited about two weeks and not one call from him to follow up. We finally called the company and they transferred our call to him. They scheduled the service for the next day. Two guys came. It took approximately 3 hours. They were very neat and they taped a plastic dropcloth to the corners of our walls where the hose was possibly going to rub on it's way to the attic. We were a little concerned about that not being enough protection for the walls, but the kid assured me he would be careful. Well . . . the paint on the one corner that the tube had to pass was all chipped up. In addition, a large two inch swath of paint on one of our walls was rubbed off. To top it off, when the guys were done, the one lead guy kept talking to me, being friendly and hanging around. He was obviously waiting for a tip, which I did not give him. I would still use them again because their prices were good, and their product seems very good.

Payless came the day after I called, explained everything to us from exactly what they would be doing and why, the type of insulation, the grade recommended in our area, provided brochures telling about the products, and gave us the estimate. They were extremely professional, we scheduled the installation of the insulation, they came exactly on time, paid extreme attention to my walls and floors to not damage anything, covered everything in sight to prevent anything getting dirty or messed up, performed the installation exactly as they said they would, did an awesome job, went over the entire job with us after completed, did a wonderful clean up and were gone. We are building a workshop and I will definitely use them for the insulation part of it!!

I originally had them scheduled to come out sometime this summer, however when they came to do the work there was a problem. The technician told me that I had a bad leak (water) in my attic and that it needed to be fixed before they could put in the insulation. Although I was disappointed that the work was not done, I very much appreciated them telling me of the leak. I imagine a less reputable company would have gone ahead and done the work never telling me of the problem. I was able to get the leak repaired and when Payless followed up with me we were able to schedule a new installation date. The guys that came out we're professional and the work was done in no time. I would highly recommend Payless Insulation to anyone needing this type work.

I selected Payless Insulation from Angie's List. They were highly recommended. They did not disappoint me. The two servicemen were on time, explained a couple of options to me RE my recessed lighting, did their work professionally, cleaned and vacuumed, and when they left, my home was as before, except for all that wonderful insulation in the attic. I first was impressed by the salesman I connected with before I signed on with Payless. He was very knowledgeable and he answered my questions well, so much better than another Insulation company rep whom I contacted first. Overall, I am very happy with Payless and with their work. They did a fine job for me.

Exceptional service from the initial contact to the completion of the work and even the billing and payment process. All communication was conducted via phone, email and text messaging since I reside on the west coast and the home is in Houston. Extremely professional yet down to earth friendly people including the project manager, the installers and the office staff. From the very first contact ( I reached out via Angie's List email and was contacted within 24 hours) and throughout each communication, I felt like I was dealing with honest and caring people. I give this company and all of the employees my highest compliments and recommendations.

Susana, the estimator, called us the same day we contacted the firm, and arranged a time to come out to give us an estimate on adding insulation to our home. We had just had two batches of workmen in the attic -- one group to install home theater speakers, and one group to install security cameras -- so the builder-grade R-12 insulation in the attic was trampled over most of the area. Most of the pipes were exposed, and the hot water pipes were creating water hammers in the cold attic. Susana said she felt sure the insulation installers could put a cotton insulation batt under the pipes before they blew in the insulation, and that would reduce the hammering significantly. She recommended that, since we planned to stay in this house for several years, we should insulate to R-38, for best results, and we agreed. We had had R-38 in our previous home and it made a huge difference in how the house maintained temperature. Susana gave us an estimate that we felt was reasonable, and we made arrangements later that day with the scheduler who gave us a choice of the next day (December 19th) or Christmas Eve day (December 24th). Because there were a few repair jobs in the attic that we had been putting off, and that needed to be done before they were covered up with insulation, we elected to go with December 24th. The workers were scheduled to show up between 7:30am and 8:30am on Christmas Eve day. Because of the date, we expected them at the later end of that window, but they rang the doorbell at 7:31am. By 7:45am, after talking to us about the job a bit, they were laying plastic down in the hall, making sure that our pets were confined and not in danger of escape or injury, and loading Celbar into the blower hoppers on their truck. They wore correct protective gear, including suits and headgear, as well as face masks and breathing apparatus, which gave us a real feel for how well they were trained by the company. It has been our experience that companies who do not care how their workers are protected from potentially hazardous materials also do not care how their customers are protected -- or treated. If the respect shown by the two workers, Jaime and Campos, as well as how they conducted themselves, is any indication, this company cares a great deal for its workers AND its customers. By 10:30am, Jaime and Campos were cleaning up. They actually left my carpet cleaner than they found it! And did an excellent job in the attic. They also repaired damage to our attic door that the previous (unrelated) workers had done. In my opinion, the Payless workers went above and beyond to do the best possible job. It's the kind of expertise, workmanship, courtesy, dignity, and respect that you get when you deal with a business of this integrity. I definitely recommend Payless for any insulation job.

We were very pleased with the lady who came out to give us an estimate. She was very professional and advised us against certain things we thought we needed and had excellent suggestions for what we actually did need. For example, she told us we did not need insulation in a wall that already had insulation (which we did not know) and suggested insulating the garage, which is attached to the house. That impressed my husband, and we decided to spend the money for insulation. He is very critical of service providers, but was immensely pleased with their service and the results that we've had from their work. Our home is much cooler in the summer and cozy warm in the winter because of the insulation that they installed. My husband is taking credit for his excellent choice in providers, but it was the reviews on Angie's list that pointed me in the right direction.
