Description of Work: The chimney cap had blown off the top of my chimney and a replacement was needed. Patterson came out the next day and inspected the chimney and fireplace. They said the fireplace area was fine, but the chimney needed about $1,500 worth of work, since the concrete around the chimney was fragile and would not support a new cap properly.

Description of Work: Secure Chimney this Spring prior to arrival of birds who nest there each year creating foul smell, gremlin-like chirping noise, and general inconvenience.

Description of Work: The job included outdoor tuck pointing, crown rebuild with cover added, full chimney clean up and new gas logs installation. We found them very easy to work with and a great job on an old chimney. We are quite pleased.

Description of Work: They had come out in November to inspect our fireplace and found some mortar had deteriorated in the firebox. They came out to repair the mortar and found that the chimney cap was rusted out. They thought this may have been the cause of some water getting into the chimney and thus causing the mortar issues, so they replaced the chimney cap as well.

Description of Work: They had inspected our fireplace in the previous month and had discovered that mortar between bricks in the firebox had deteriorated, probably due to moisture seeping through cracks in the mortar at the top of the chimney stack. They also discovered the chimney cap had rusted in several places and needed to be replaced. We had to wait about three weeks before they could come back to make the necessary repairs because the work would require a few hours that they didn't have available on the day of the inspection. The appointment in January 2014 was to make the needed repairs. The technician arrived on time and quickly completed the work needed inside the house first. He put down a tarp beforehand in order to protect the rug in that room. He replaced the missing mortar in the firebox. He then went outside to make the repairs to the mortar needed at the top of the chimney and replace the chimney cap. Obviously, I couldn't personally inspect the work he did in regards to the mortar at the top of the chimney, but I have no reason to think it was not done well. We used this firm many years ago to do other work on our fireplace and they did a good job then, too. |

Description of Work: I really appreciated the reliability and timeliness of Patterson & Sons Chimney ..they worked me in the SAME morning, there was a bird in the chimney flue and you could hear it all over the place..he explained what he could try to do. I told him he was my plan A and my plan B.he lifted the area around the stack to allow bird a place to escape. It worked he then came back later that evening. I was so grateful. I would use them again.

Description of Work: We used the services of Patterson & Sons Chimney Sweep about a month or so ago for fixing a minor adjustment that I needed in my fireplace. They also fixed the damper.

Description of Work: Several jobs done. We had our chimney hat blow of in hurricane Ike. This replaced ($200.), We also had the chimney crown repaired ($300.). For additional assurance we had the chimney coated with "Chimney Saver" waterproofing ($500.).

Upon a late arrival (he called and told me he would be late) I was told that a nest in the chimney is impossible and he told me how to get rid of them (he was more helpful than the exterminator I used). He said fireplace looked as it was never used and he charged me only for a service call.
