I received quotes from 5 companies for the whole kitchen remodel. Many plumbers did not want to take on the size of the job and those that did offered a bid that was very over priced. Furthermore many wanted to up sell me services and failed on properly specking out the whole house water filter to meet the chemical issues found in Houston water. Richard Saad personally met with me as he knew the size and complexity of the job and wanted to ensure we could be in sync. He gave an affordable quote and we started the job 2 weeks later. The first round was the rough plumbing which started and completed ahead of schedule. They found a major waste line issue and called me to offer a solution and educate me on how the whole sewage system works in general. To ensure that we could use our house during this major kitchen remodel they knew to file a permit as "Gas repipe while in residence" this was no small challenge but they pulled it off. They then came back a few times in between the Final Plumbing phase to meet with inspectors and work with my schedule. They then hooked up all the fun stuff in the Final Plumbing phase after a short 48 hour notice. We couldn't have done the kitchen remodel without Richard and his Master Plumber Sam.
Description of Work: Nick's Plumbing complete a full Kitchen Remodel that required multiple new Gas Lines, moving a gas meter, new vertical water lines, and kitchen sink sewage line replacement. They also installed a whole house water filter that treats Houston Surface water chemical issues. In addition they connected all my fixtures like faucet, garbage disposal, new dishwasher, and refrigerator.

Nick's Plumbing & Sewer Service unclogged my bathroom drain within 10 minutes. Prior to performing the service they have you sign a form stating they will charge you $289.00 for the service. I was new in Houston and signed the form under duress without knowing the typical local rate. When discussing with another plumber I told that I was overcharged $170.00 based on what that plumber would charge.

Josh arrived, listened to my description of the problem; washer drain leaking into the pantry floor, one sink backing up in to the twin, slow drainage from upstairs. He looked at the layout of the plumbing and very quickly determined that there was a major blockage in the house's connection to the main sewer line outside. He brought in the motorized snake and spent about half an hour clearing the drain, cleaned up and was done. The drains now drain faster than I remember since being in the house for 20 years. Well worth the $99 Angieslist special. It was a pleasure having a true professional take care of the problem.

They've done other plumbing work for us in the past and it went well. Called and they scheduled a plumber to come out that afternoon. They would not give me any idea of what it might cost, but said there was no charge for someone to come out, look over the problem, and give me a price. Before noon they called and had someone available, so they were able to come early. They gave me a price of $225 (their minimum), which seemed high, but I could not wait for someone else to come out, so I had them do the job. They completed the cleanout in about a half hour. Work was done well, but price was high compared to other companies. Wish they had given me the minimum over the phone.

This was actually 2 trips for 2 separate repairs to a house going on the market. Both times Josh and Raul were the team. They arrived promptly, performed the work quickly and left no trace they were there except that there was no longer water dripping from the ceiling and we were now able to get water from the bathroom faucets. They made recommendations for the leak in the attic and did not push me into work that could be done, but wasn't needed at the time. Not only will I call them again, I did about 2 weeks later for a huge outdoor leak at my own home!

Description of Work: Nick's Plumbing replaced my waterline from the water meter to my house. My house is older and the galvanized pipe was irreparable. It was rusted and had a puncture. They replaced the line to the house with PEX and they did a great job.

We had a leak in our main line, out near the street, just shy of where the city takes responsibility. Nick's Plumbing came out promptly. They found the leak: a rusted cast iron connector. But they told me that they couldn't just replace the rusted piece because the rest of the line, from the rusted connector all the way back to the house, was rolled copper. According to Nick's Plumbing, rolled copper is so weak that if they replaced the rusted connector, we would just find a leak further down the copper line. And if we patched the second leak, then sooner or later we'd have another leak. Our house was built in 1964 and in 60 years this is our first leak. And it's not even in the copper line, but in the cast iron connector. But according to Nick's Plumbing the copper is very weak. He recommended replacing the entire copper pipe (55 ft from the street to the house) with some new flexible technology called PEX. In fact, Nick's Plumbing wouldn't do anything less. He told me that they could have a crew out the next day (Saturday) digging up the old line, and on Monday they would come out and lay the new PEX. For a cost of $4,000. And they don't repair concrete, so the patch of driveway they were going to dig up would probably cost me another $1,000. I told them not to do anything yet, that I needed to think about it. They charged me $165.00 and left. They didn't do anything but look at the leak and measure the line, and it cost me $165.00. And if I hadn't had the Angie's List coupon for $10 off, it would have been $175! A simple Google search of PEX proves that it is just as good as copper. But copper is so expensive right now. I honestly believe Nick's Plumbing wanted my copper pipes. But they won't get my copper... or my business ever again.

Excellent Job!! We are in a 1950s bungalo in Timbergrove and have only one bathroom. When the toilet started leaking I was worried. I saw the reviews and called. They set up an appointment quickly, the service professionals where on time, and they resolved the issue right away. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. They didn't try to upsell me on anything either.

I called them for a plugged drain. They began wit the least invasive and least expensive fix to the problem. We went from one procedure to the next until we used a camera to find the 100 plus year old clay pipe had collapsed. THey quoted the job not charging for pervious work, and fished it in two days. They also took extra care to under the tree feeder roots when possible. I will always use them when I need a plumber.

The provider showed up on time and the handy men present were very professional. They "snaked" the toilet drainage system and removed the blocked items in the drainage system. Then, they replaced the toilet with the new toilet bowl i bought separately. Overall, it was a good and neat job that was done.

him for the response and asking him to clarify a couple of points. I never heard back. So, I called and left a message. I never heard back. So I called and left another message; no return call. I left a third message; no returned call. I gave up and called another provider. The other provider came out the same day and installed the unit the next day. I'll review this provider in another posting when the work is completed.
Description of Work: I contacted Nick's plumbing to provide a proposal for replacing my existing tankless water heater that was originally installed by Village Plumbing (incorrectly-as it turns out). I originally contacted Nick's Plumbing by email using the Rinnai tankless water heater supplier's web site utility designed to allow you to send the authorized Rinnai installer an e-mail, directly. However, I never received a call nor an email from Nick's Plumbing. So, I called them and spoke to a representative (operator) who said she would have someone call me because they didn't have record of my email. No one called me, so I called them, again. I spoke to a representative who was very nice and took my information as well as talked to me about my options for replacing my current tankless system. We set up a date to meet at my house so he could assess the situation and provide a bid. He arrived on-time as planned and conducted a fairly thorough review of the situation. He submitted a proposal via email to me. After receiving the emailed proposal, I had some questions about what the proposal covered. I emailed my questions to him and received an emailed reply. However, I still had some concerns about the size of the proposal and sent an email reply thanking

They were overpriced. What happened was I had a sewer line running through the backyard that needed to be re-piped. They quoted me a price of six thousand dollars, I ended up getting another person to do it for twenty eight hundred dollars. They gave me a price, I thought it was too high. They came over did an analysis, they charged me about four hundred dollars to run a camera and they said the line needed replacing, which was true- it did need replacing. They gave me a price of six thousand dollars and I thought that was too much money. So I waited a few days and I got somebody else to do it for twenty eight hundred dollars. I would like other people to know that they are over priced. I see it on Angie's List they have all sort of comments and ratings. I think it's relevant to other people. I think they are over priced. I would not recommend their services for those prices. I am sure they do a fine job and what was good was that they came out right away because my sewer was backed up. The bad thing was that the quote turned out to be twice as high as somebody else. The analysis was ok but that was over priced too, they charged me four hundred dollars. They were nice enough guys.

Two employees arrived on schedule and after assessing the location and condition of the existing twelve year old gas hot water heater offered me several options for replacement. Once the job was agreed upon, the guys went right to work and were very professional and courteous throughout the four hour job. I informed them that the house had just been repainted and they took extra caution not to ding the walls and stairway when handling the old and new heater. A little pricey in my opinion, but I would use again.

Centerpoint identified a gas leak at the meter location, we contacted Nick's Plumbing due to the Angie's List rating. Nick's quoted $1300 to make these repairs. When the system was tested, additional leaks were detected under our house at the kitchen. We allowed the plumber to cut an access panel in our kitchen floor to fascilitate the repair and suddenly the $1300 estimate balloooned to over $6000. When we asked why the costs increased so substantially, we were told it was just the cost of the job. We have contacted Nick's and just received an accounting of their charges. These are being reviewed so that we can hopefully reach a satisfactory conclusion. At least the 10% discount per Angie's List was applied. We have concerns about the work because Centerpoint had to rebuild 90% of the piping at the meter in order to reconnect and restore our gas service. It took over 4 hours to redo the work we paid Nick's to do.

The staff at the office was quick to respond to my request for service and gave me a time window when they could have a service man to my location. They called about half an hour before to let me know that they were on the way to my location. Albert was the professional that arrived to assess my situation and quickly identified the problems. He was very informative and gave me all of the options and let me know exactly what they could and could not do. He alerted me to potential issues that could come up during their investigation that could be an additional expense. I have a house built in the late 50s and he was experienced in those systems. After the inital inspection he needed to pick up the material to complete the job and he gave me a time when they would return. They arrived back when they promised and started right in on the job. The job required digging down to the sewer line that exited the house and putting in a clean out. They were careful with the landscape and kept their dig neat. Albert was good at keeping me informed during the process when I asked. They restored the area as close to the orginal condition as possible. I am happy with the work and their knowledge of old house plumbing issues. I will use them again.
