Description of Work: Our kitchen drain was backing up and spilling out under out house, so we called Nick's due to good reviews online. They arrived on-time, but that's about the only good thing I can say about them. The plumber did a quick inspection of our plumbing before concluding that tree roots had entered our main sewage drain, and that we needed to dig a hole, cut a hole into the pipe, and run a snake down to clear out the roots ($600). He recommended also installing a clean-out valve ($600). He then went on to tell us that if the pipes were ceramic they needed to be dug up and replaced with PVC (a $5500 job). However, his diagnosis was just flat-out wrong. They did not need to cut a hole in the pipe because we already have a clean-out valve, it just happens to be under the house (where it can be easily seen if you look under there). I crawled under and checked and water was flowing normally to the city drain, meaning the backup was occurring further upstream, in the pipe leading from the kitchen to the main drain. I called Pierce Plumbing and a $140 snake job later the pipes drained just fine. Very disappointed with Nick's. If it was a complicated system and they couldn't figure out the problem, that would be one thing. But if a first-time homeowner like me can figure it out in 5 minutes, that's just Nick's trying to take advantage of people. Go with someone else. I've always had good luck with Tom Pierce, but I've heard good things about Don Ford Sr. as well.

Description of Work: They did a mechanical "snake" on a rent house - going from the outside up to the kitchen sink. It had never been done, and was really stopped up. They were available during the holidays and that made it so much easier.

Description of Work: I live in a condo and had all of the pipes in my unit replaced. Their prices were much better than what I got from John Moore and they did a great job. They were recommended to me by a coworker and I would definitely use them again in the future!!

Description of Work: Mexican workers with white bosses. Overpriced, considering what they probably paid the guy who did the actual plumbing. $2400 to replace the pipe under the tub out to the line about where the garden bed ends. Since I had a separate line for the tub they did not have to deal with waste. They were neat and cleaned up the area, put back the dirt. I think the work was well done. Two men did the digging and refilling, one guy did the estimate and collected the check, one guy plumbed. It took a few days. He also installed a new trap and new plate and plug in the tub.

Description of Work: Bathroom sink pipes severely clogged so they replaced them so could use bathroom. Plumber was right on with possible issue shoes me old parts and how corroded they were put in new parts and sink works like a chArm.

Description of Work: My hot water heater would not stay lit. I called Nick's and they appeared exactly when they said they would although we had to change the time several times. The tech found the problem, a dirty filter, cleaned it and the water heater compartment with his self-invented vacuum attachment. He showed me how to do the work in the future and gave me his attachment in addition. Unfortunately when he pulled the cord of his vacuum from the wall plug, the whole box was pulled out of the wall. He immediately arranged for an electrician to come to the house and repair the problem. The electrician came when scheduled, and did the repair. I was impressed by the professionalism and competence of everyone involved and felt the price was appropriate. I recommend Nick's and will utilize this company for all my plumbing problems.

Workmanship was good. Plumber also used footies over work boots to protect floors which showed their respect for my property. I would use them again and recommend to others.
