I originally called a company called Jimmy's Garage Doors, a name garnered from a ValPak mailing that I had received. These people were crooks and the guy said my door would be almost impossible to fix since the Wayne Dalton Company had gone out of business and parts were virtually unobtainable. They even wanted to charge me a fee to come estimate how to fix my problem. Obviously they were liars and would have probably tried to sell me a whole new garage door package. Luckily I checked the Internet and found that The Wayne Dalton Company was very much still in business. I explained my situation to a very nice lady who quickly diagnosed my problem, quoted me a cost of $ 160.00 to replace the defective mechanism and set an appointment for me to arrive in less than 2 days. Great customer service. Ray, the technician, arrived promptly at the appointed time and was very knowledgeable about fixing my door. He completed his work promptly and efficiently and demonstrated that the door was working properly before he left. He cleaned up the work area when he was finished and left me as a very satisfied customer. I highly recommend Wayne Dalton Garage Doors for all your garage door needs - both for new doors and for service on existing ones.

It was late evening when I discovered that my garage door was broken. They have an answering service in the evening (not very thorough in collecting information, like asking what area of Houston I lived in). In the morning I called again, and they had someone come within 3 hours. They had the correct parts and were able to fix it in under an hour.

It was just routine maintenance. The experience was satisfactory. The guy they sent was one of their sub-contractors. The job was done promptly and correctly.
