 + -1 moreI was seeing increasing amounts of spider, roaches, etc... They came in and sprayed. More importantly they found termites. They did give me an estimate for the treatment for the termites but I went the Terminix b/c they were less expensive and b/c they are a "bigger" company. But, McGrath was great/

Description of Work: I found bugs in my attic and I found some suspected insect damage in my attic. I called McGrath for a free inspection. Scott McGrath came The bugs turned out to be harmless ants and the damage on the wood was from long ago and not an ongoing problem. Scott inspected the rest of the house, and no problems were detected.

 + -1 moreMr McGrath is knowledgeable, professional, communicative and seems to be acting in the best intereests of his customers. Excellent experience. Found historical dry wood termite damage. Will go buy some spray to treat the areas with historical damage just for my own piece of mind.
Description of Work: Called for termite inspection. Set up appt. Mr. McGrath arrived on time and inspected several areas of concern on my 1926 bungalow. Mr McGrath took his time explaining that the damage I was seeing was dry wood termite not subterranean termites. We found no active termites. We talked about options. His company could spray or I could do the job myself. Mr McGrath is very professional. He took the time needed to look at my property and then took the time to explain what he thought was going on. We discussed what needed to be done and looked at the extent of the damage. He never tried to scare me into buying his service. We discussed the best method was to address my situation. I decided that this was a job I could handle myself.

 + -1 moreExterminator showed up right on time and was very professional. He did the extermination and was gone very quickly. He did the free termite check for Angie's list members. Since there were a few roaches but nothing major, this wasn't an extremely difficult job, but I would highly recommend McGrath and will use them again in the future.
Description of Work: Extermination around house; spray around baseboards and around perimeter of the house.

 + -1 moreMr. McGrath arrived on time and was very patient in explaining everything. He made some suggestions for things I could do on my own (for free!) to help protect my home. He also told me how I could treat a carpenter bee's nest by myself if I didn't want to pay for a professional treatment. I really appreciated his honestly, time, and consideration!
Description of Work: I really appreciated their honesty!!!! I was concerned about termites in my home. However, Mr. McGrath (the son) reassured me that it was simply rotted wood. He did point out places where there was past termite activity... but there was no immediate need for treatment. I did decide to do some preventative treatment... which I'll do soon... and I'll do it with McGrath!

 + -1 moreThey performed the services as promised; even returning to pick up the carcases and rebating the traps and bait box. It was an excellent job.
Description of Work: I called the company for an appointment. They arrived on time and performed an inspection of my pest problem. He was courteous and professional. He left me a written estimate. The company contacted me for the return visit. Again he arrived on time, put out traps and bait boxes in the garage and house attics. He was very efficient and neat. He explained in details what he did and left. The company contacted me for a repeat visit to pick up the carcases and dispose of them for me. The return visit did not initially start off as smoothly. There seemed to be some confusion about the purpose of the visit. After a phone call to the company, the gentleman quickly got the job done. I was totally pleased with the overall experience. I definitely would use them again as well as recommend them to anyone needing pest extermination services.

 + -1 moreVery good experience overall. Scott came out to spray for critters that we were starting to have problems with and to do a general inspection. The number of bugs went way down after he came through and he also reassured my wife that we didn't have rodents, which may have been the more valuable service. We plan to use McGrath for regular pest control in the future.

 + -1 moreI was able to get an appointment within days of calling, the appointment was fast and very reasonably priced. All McGrath employees were extremely polite and professional. Scott who came to my house, did a great job and helped me understand my needs. I plan to continue to have McGrath Pest Control continue to handle my pest control needs.
Description of Work: I called McGrath Pest control because I have had trouble with red and crazy ants in the past. I currently had a red ants nest on the side of my house. I called and told them my problem and that I was also concerned about termites and was reticent of having them spray inside the house because my wife has a cat. Scott, the owners son, came out and did a free termite evaluation and devised a strategy about controlling the ants in my yard. He was very patient and took the time to explain the strategy based upon my needs and concerns. Scott was very professional and told me based upon the age of my house, what he observed and the behavior of termites that I didn't have to worry about termites for another 3-4 years. Scott was extremely knowledgeable, honest and fair. He did a power spray in our yard for much less than I was expecting, the cost was extremely reasonable.

 + -1 moreThey were very professional and thorough during the inspection. A few days later, I found some evidence of past termite damage in the garage and I became worried. I contacted McGrath about my concerns and the owner came out again to look at the area. He fully explained the situation to me, saying that the area it was in, and the fact we were basically tearing it to the studs in renovation anyways, wasn't an issue. He said he originally missed the area because it was behind furniture the previous owners had left behind. Also, he said we could use a basic spray treatment before we rebuild. He was very polite and understanding. Great company.
Description of Work: I hired McGrath to inspect my house for WDIs (wood destroying insects, ie termites).

 + -1 moreKevin arrived at exactly 8:30 AM, which was our scheduled appointment time. He spent a great deal more time spraying then other pest services have. I could tell that he was being meticulous and sprayed areas that others may skip. The only reason that I gave a B for professionalism was because he disconnected all of my hose and timer connections to my faucet to get water and didn't reconnect it. He could have just used the attached hose just as easily. No big deal though. I will definitely use them again.

 + -1 moreThey were very good. We called them because we had a squirrel in our attic. They don't do that, but they gave us some good tips on how to get it out. I like that you don't have to sign a long term contract with them. My wife is pregnant so they made sure they didn't use any chemicals that could harm her or the baby. The pricing is very reasonable and competitive. Their phone rep was very prompt in getting us in. She was very friendly and kind as well.
