Mastic Masters

MasticMasters was hired to replace all the wood expansion joints in my driveway and sidewalks. Upon my initial call, Mark indicated the company was running a backlog of jobs but he would address my job as soon as possible. He asked if I wanted him to come to my house to measure and provide me with an estimate; based upon a neighbor's experience, I told Mark to go ahead and schedule the work since I was familiar with work they would perform. Mark called me on May 5 to advise his crew would be at my house on May 8 between 8:00AM and 8:30AM. On Friday, May 8, Gustavo and Nick from MasticMasters arrived at the house ready to go to work at approximately 8:20AM. Gustavo measured all the joints I wanted replaced and the two driveway cracks. I agreed with his measurements and he drew up an estimate/invoice. I signed the estimate and the guys began removing the old wood in each expansion joint. They scraped out material between the driveway/sidewalk and the house slab and used an electric cutter to clean up the cracks and some of the concrete edges that needed attention. Debris was picked up and a blower was used to clean the area and insure no wooden material was pushed back into the open joint. Nick began inserting the backer rod into the joint while Gustavo mixed up the urethane and followed behind Nick filling each joint. A small amount of sand was finally applied to the joint to assist with the curing process. Stakes and warning tape was also erected to ensure vehicles stayed off the work for 24 hours. Gustavo and Nick represented MasticMasters in a courteous, professional, and punctual manner. I would not hesitate to use MasticMasters again in the future for any additional work of this type needed.

After having all concrete on the property raised, leveled and stabilized, I contacted MasticMasters to replace all the expansion joints, fill the cracks and pressure wash and seal the patio. Quote was done the day after I called them. I was not home when the estimator came by but he left a detailed quote of the work to be done. A call to him was returned promptly and all my questions were answered and the work was scheduled. On the work day the crew arrived a little late but that was no big deal. Later in the day a second crew arrived to help out so that the job could be completed on time and it was. They were obviously experienced and the work was done quickly and professionally. When finished the crew had me inspect the work and reviewed the warranty with me. They cleaned up everything very well before they left. Billing was exactly as agreed - no surprises or extra charges. MasticMasters was prompt, professional, and very easy to work with. The results met my expectations. With the joints and cracks professionally sealed, the concrete areas look great. It's been nine months since this work was done and the joints still remain sealed and look great. I recommend MasticMasters and will use them again if the future if needed.

I had an appointment scheduled for this morning between 8 and 9am. Provider never showed up. I guess the company doesn't need any new business.

I was VERY happy with this job and cannot speak too highly of Mastic Masters. To start with, their price was extremely competitive and they included a 2 year warranty. One other contractor came out to do an estimate and he quoted a price 40% higher and only offered a one year warranty. I was given another quote over the phone which was nearly three times as much. On being told Mastic Masters price, another contractor said that that was less than their minimum charge so they declined to quote. When they came out to do the job, the two Mastic Masters workers got right on with the work and completed it in less than 2 hours. I think their efficiency is why they can quote such a competitive price. However, they did not take any short cuts, They trimmed the edges of the concrete with an abrasive disc on a circular saw and back filled the expansion joints with a combination of foam backer strip and sand so that there would be no gap below the urethane sealant. the surface of the sealant was completely flat and level and probably it was possible for it to be "floated" level because the back filling had been done. By contrast, the oriiginal contractor had just extruded a bead of sealant and in many places the surface was severely rippled. I could see from my own inspection that the original contractor had not trimmed the edges, nor back filled before sealing. The two workers were tidy as to the way they worked and cleaned up any mess before leaving. Contrary to another review on Mastic Masters that I saw, they could have taken a credit card payment but they said they preferred a check, and I was happy to oblige and save them the card commission as the price was so reasonable. I give this contractor my unqualified recommendation both as to price and quality of work. Of course I don't yet know how the job will look after a few years of use but I have every confidence that it will last a long time.

Excellent service. Because I was preparing a home for sale, I had a short deadline before first showings but Mastic Masters were fully booked for several weeks. Fortunately they understood my situation and worked me into a gap in their schedule. They are easy to work with. The crew was efficient and the mastic work looks very good. Probably the work I'm most impressed with was their work in re-staining some of the stamped concrete patio where a string trimmers had removed some of the surface colorant. The repairs were well color matched, and you'd have to look closely to see the repair. I will use this company for any similar work in future, and recommend them to anyone with similar needs.

First application went as scheduled. Garage looked great except for a few areas that looked unfinished and needed additional coverage. We agreed with the vendor that he would return to complete the job. It took weeks and several phone calls to get it completed. Have been satisfied with look of floor.

They did a good job. My only complaint is the amount of sand and dirt that was kicked up while clearing out the expansion joints that ended up in the pool.

Its crew arrived 15 minutes before the scheduled time and finished the work promptly. I had no complaint whatsoever about the work or its crew, but I did wish that I was told during the quoting process that its preferred payment for service rendered was a check, not credit card. You see, I had only 2 checks left in my checkbook on that date...

The job was to install expansion joints around the outside of the house - side walks, driveway, outer perimeter of the house construction. $2.49/sq ft.

We got a free estimate and schedule to have the job done a month and a half later. They called a few days ahead to remind us and let us know of the time. Got a call the day of to let me know they would be arriving earlier than expected. This was not a problem for us at all. All employees were in uniforms and very polite. They worked fast, cleaned up after well and got the job done quick. We would be happy use them again.

Mastic Masters is awesome. The guys showed up when they said they would. There were no surprises, in-fact they touched up on areas that we had Not previously discussed at No charge. Dave even did a follow-up visit after I had already paid for their services. My patio/pool deck and coping went from faded and weathered to looking brand new. I'd say it actually looks better now than it did the day it was installed. Dave even recommended a maintenance scheduled to keep it up. I'd trust these guys in my backyard unsupervised, they took care as if it was there own. We got quite a few estimates and even looked at other options, I'm glad we chose Mastic masters!

What an excellent, top-notch company. A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. These guys showed up on time and ready to do the work. They got right to work and seemed quite efficient. unfortunately, about 1/2 through the job, it became evident that it was so windy that the joints were like dirt magnets when wet. They stopped the job, explained the problem, and came back the next day after the wind had died down to 4 mph. The joints that they did were basically black (supposed to be grey) due to all the dirt, debris, and leaves from the day before. The guys scuffed all the joints to get the top layer clean, and re-applied the joint compound to the top. I was afraid I was going to be stuck with bad looking joints that are brand new. Mastic masters really stepped up and did the right thing, even though it dug in to their margins on the job. The driveway and pool deck looks great! All the workers were friendly, professional, and seemed to enjoy what they were doing. I recommend this company without hesitation, if you need this kind of work done, call Mastic Masters!

Basically what we did was we raised our concrete patios, sidewalk and the garage. After that, MasticMasters filled up the joints between concrete slabs using half a piece of wood that passes out after while. We used them to do that. They were very professional. They knew what to do. They go straight to the top. When you ask them to redo an area, they don't have a problem. They do it. I can see it done professionally. They follow a certain rule to do it. They make sure it's dirt-free before they put the mastic in so that it sticks to the concrete. I would use them in the future.

I initially spoke with Mark, but Dave is the one who came out to give me an estimate. Both were very professional and courteous and prompt with answering their phones, returning calls, answering my questions and follow-up. Dave arrived on time, did the measurements and was very patient with all my questions. When discussing what color to use in the cracks, he recommended "tan". I was skeptical since the driveway and walkway are gray concrete so I thought the color should be "gray". I asked them to send me a couple of addresses close to me where they had used the "tan" color so I could go look at the "tan" color in person. They emailed me a couple of addresses and my husband and I both did a drive by and concurred that "tan" would look good. Dave and his team arrived promptly and did a fantastic job. They cleaned up everything and it looks great. We are very pleased. The only negative comment I can come up with is they had advised me in our initial discussions that the sealant would take about 24 hours to cure and therefore should not be driven on. As they were removing the old rotten wood from the expansion joints it dawned on me I needed to remove my car from the garage and park it on the street in case I needed to drive some place in the next 24 hours. (Thank goodness I remembered -- it would be helpful if they reminded people to remove their cars before they start the actual job). I was sorry to read about the mishap / mixup posted yesterday that happened to someone else. It's really a shame because Mastic Masters did a great job for us from start to finish and one bad review can really scare people. I hope people will look at the rest of the reviews, which as a whole, give them a very high rating.

The job went as promised -- on time arrival and completion the same day.

I had tried for a couple of years to have a handyman fix the wooden expansion joints in my driveway and sidewalks as they would invariably pop up. But the problem always came back. A friend suggested to have somebody seal those joints. I found Mastic Masters in Angie's so I had them over for an estimate. They explained the process and gave me an estimate. The 2 guys that came to do the work showed up on time and started right away. The process went fine. The only complaint I have is that the material they used to seal the joints is very sticky and some of it landed on my lawn around the driveway and sidewalks. Nothing major, but if I had known I would have asked them to be careful not to dump that material on the landscape and lawn. It took a full 24 hour day to dry, but after that, it looked great, and finally those expansion joints are no problem anymore.

Called Mastic Masters on a Saturday to make appointment for an estimate on Slab Gasket. Dave called me a couple days later to setup appointment for the middle of the week. He was on time, courteous and professional. He provided me other options for the expansion joint filler such as urethane and silicone. In the end we decided to go with the Silicone and made the appointment for the following Friday (weather permitting). The whole process was very pleasant with no surprises. Our drive way and walkway look great. I will definitely use their services again. Mastic offers a 5 year warranty and the Silicone itself will last 20 years. Dave told me do not hesitate to call if any problems arise.

We were very happy with the work, it looks great. We even had one of two panels on our driveway close to the street where water has gotten underneath and they piped in the filling in there and we didn't even ask them to, so that was nice. They were fast, did exactly what they said they were going to do, and we were very happy with the results. His price was better than the other estimate we got.

The driveway repair job ended up being a two step process because there was a misunderstanding of the service quoted on the original bid. Be sure to fully understand product terminology . We are happy with the topcoat color and application but are experiencing cracks in the sealant that was applied to the joints in the driveway. Mark has been prompt in responding to our concerns and and we will continue to seek needed repairs under the five year product warranty. Although we are pleased with the finish of our deck and pool patio the application of the sealant was sloppy splashing sealant on the stucco walls of the deck and leaving drips on the face of our newly installed stainless steel refrigerator, cabinet doors and drawers in our outdoor kitchen. This could have easily been avoided by covering the kitchen with a tarp and exercising more care. Mark 's crew did their best to remove the product from the kitchen appliances but the damage is permanent.

They were very friendly and conscientious. They did an excellent job on everything. Our driveway is pebble stone. The color match was right on.

They did an excellent job. So much so that my neighbor also requested the expansion joints be replaced with this silicone type filler. I was unavailable at the time the service was performed and had complete confidence in what they were going to do. Would defineitly use them for there other services
