No one called and therefore no business was conducted.

The composite roof on our Houston home was nearing the end of its service life (17 years). We had no leaks but clearly, we would need new roofing soon. I searched Angies List and came up with several candidates but chose M&M Roofing and Siding. David B, the representative from M&M was top notch from the start. His experience showed as he was able to walk the property and prepare an estimate on the spot (which turned out to be within 1 square of the other estimate we obtained). We talked through the fact that although our home is mostly brick, what little siding we did have was made of particle board and although it has been well maintained, is not up to the quality standard of today?s products. So, we asked David to quote not only the roof but the installation/painting of Hardiplank siding and painting the exterior trim on the house. M&M?s overall price for the roof, Hardiplank and paint was considerably less than the other estimate we obtained and I liked how we were walked through the entire process from start to finish. Refreshingly, we were asked for no money down. We were told we would pay when we were happy with their work. I?ve filed this report under roofing despite the fact the job entailed other work. I felt that since the roofing was by far the largest portion of the cost, that it made sense to do so. Due to recent hailstorms, we did have a small wait for the roofing to begin (approximately 2 weeks). However, M&M completed the 80 square job in just 2 days using quality GAF materials. The crew did their best to clean up after themselves but it is virtually impossible to retrieve all the old nails. I was slightly disappointed when I went up on a ladder only to find an area of one gutter filled with nails and debris. Due to its location, I think it was just an oversight since all the other areas were quite clean. The next piece of the job was installation of the Hardiplank siding and trim boards. The lead carpenter, Joe, looked at opportunities to keep the look of the house consistent but also to upgrade the appearance where possible (specifically, a dormer over the garage). The crew worked quickly, did a quality job and were very thorough. No complaints whatsoever. The final piece of work was painting. I was a little worried about overspray but it was minimal. Pepe and his helper were very deliberate in their work. They put on two coats of mildew resistant Sherwin Williams paint ? making two ?cycles?around the house over 3 days. Their work was high quality and they cleaned up after themselves. Again, no complaints whatsoever. Overall, I give M&M high marks for their effort. David was there with me every step of the way. From the quoting process, to the choice of crews, to the quality of the work and to the simplicity they applied to the payment process. I knew exactly what I was getting, how much it would cost and how long it was going to take. I sleep much more comfortably knowing the maintenance on my home moving forward will be minimal. I recommend M&M to anyone wanting a no-bull approach to their roofing/siding/painting needs.

I was looking for a much better price than for Hardiplank. I asked two contractors for the same thing, replace windows and siding on three old building I am purchasing. One in Handiplank and one in vinyl Micheal McCollom came out on time and was professional in his approach. However, instead of being cheaper than the Hardiplank he was $3,000 more expensive, $48,000 as compared to $45,000 for the Hardiplank.Wow. I am continuing to look, I was expecting about $20-30,000. I have not gone back for a re-quote, if one is volunteered I shall report it here. Update I called Mike and he came out and re-quoted me $26K, he was very apologetic and didn't know what had happened with the original quote. He is very nice and helpful.

The receptionist was polite and courteous. The appraiser responded quickly. The estimate was very thorough. The price was slightly less than the competitors. They told me up front that there would be a delay between submitting the approved estimate and the start of work. I don't have an issue about the delay but I was never contacted and told when work would start after I approved the estimate . I had to call twice before the job foreman contacted me and told me when my job was scheduled to start. The foreman and his crew were great once they were on site. I was also told up front that there would be a delay between the installation of the siding and painting. Again no problem with the delay but like before I was never contacted and told when painting was scheduled. The painting crew just showed up several days after the installation. The crew was very nice and did a great job. Just noboby called to schedule it with me in advance. Finally when the job was complete there was no final review or sign off with the appraiser. I just got an invoice in the mail. Overall the work was very good as was the price. There just wasn't enough communication with me throughout the business.

We were very pleased with all phases of the work that M & M Roofing performed to rejuvenate the outside appearance of our home. The final bill was exactly consistent with the original estimate. The area manager, Mike McCollum, was proactive on most items and always responded in a timely manner when he couldn't answer his cell phone. There were two crews that participated on the project, the paint/carpentry crew and the gutter crew. Both crews were clearly experienced technicians with quality tools and power equipment to perform the work efficiently and with precision, clearly taking pride in their work. Both crews were cheerful and patient with customer questions, either explaining why their way was the best or incorporating the customer suggestions into the final work. Not a single drop of errant paint could be found when the job was finished, and in some cases, previous lower quality painting was cleaned up to the higher standard (e.g. globs of paint in grooves in door frames). The leftover paint supplied me with an gallon of the paint that was used (Sherwin Williams Duration satin in Antique White 6119). There were a few things that kept me from giving M & M Roofing an excellent price rating. First was that the gutter crew did not paint the new wood that they installed behind the gutter to provide periodic support against the gutters drooping over time. Ideally they would have prepared enough foot long pieces of 1 X 2 wood beforehand and applied primer to the new wood before arriving on-site. Then they would have had an opportunity to apply the correct exterior paint to protect this new wood from the elements properly, rather than the paint crew coming in later to paint accessible sides of the new wood. Second was the last section of gutter was not set at the proper draining angle and looked to be almost horizontal, it collects about 1/8 inch water at the wrong end, an unnecessary disappointment for brand new gutters. Third is that I will probably take down all the downspouts and paint the back side of each one, not that it is unsightly to most but the most detailed inspection. Last is that the door hardware was not supplied in the condition expected, same configuration as original in corrosion resistant stainless steel: the round spherical door knobs are now five inch long lever arms, and the material is still brass with a satin nickel finish. On top of that, I was the one that installed the new door hardware when the contract clearly specified installation of new door hardware. There were a few things that keep me giving M & M Roofing an excellent overall rating. First was that the paint/carpentry crew not only replaced distressed wood but changed the carpentry design to prevent future distress in a similar 25 year time frame. The prime example of that are situations where a roof angle fascia meets a horizontal roof edge fascia: the original design had the horizontal fascia extending underneath the angled fascia so that water draining down the angle fascia edge would penetrate into the wood fibers of the end of the horizontal fascia board. The new design had the angled fascia continuing all the way down to the bottom of the horizontal fascia, so that there is no board interface to capture drained water. On top of that, both pieces were replaced with Hardy wood, which doesn't have any wood fibers to wick in water even when the paint gets thinner with age. I was left with the impression that the appearance of the house in its second 25 year period will probably still look almost new at 50 years. The second reason I support M & M Roofing strongly is that I learned how to do a better job of painting myself, and ended up buying a couple new tools after I saw how their contractors did such good work. I believe M & M Roofing management clearly mandates that happy customers are to be expected. You can't ask much more than a contractor doing his very best to do a better job than all his competitors. You can pay more for an exterior paint job and get a lot less.

The whole process went very well. I met Mike Moncure for an estimate back in January. He was very professional, offered useful suggestions for improvements on the roof, and provided a printed estimate on the spot. I got around to scheduling the work in March. Mike estimated the whole roofing job would only take 1 day (I don't have a lot of roof), and he was right. I took the day off work to stay home while the crew replaced the roof. They arrived at 7am, started working at 7:30am and they pretty much didn't stop working until 6:30pm. The cleanup was excellent because I've barely found any debris leftover since the roofers were here. Other than needing access to the attic at one point, the crew required no supervision from me. Very professional and hard working guys. The gutter replacement was scheduled the following week. I didn't have to be home for that and the finished product exceeded my expectations. I met Mike to settle up on payment, no surprises there. The initial estimate is exactly what I ended up paying. I'm very satisfied with M&M Roofing and I would use them again in the future.

David Boyles came out on 3/1/2012 exactly when he said he would and gave me an estimate. David was efficient and professional. Two workers came out the next week when Jessica told me they would. They were 20 minutes late and apologized profusely. They went right to work, were professional and did a great job in a short amount of time. The only fault I have with this company is the receptionist, Jessica. She did not ask me if the time she set was okay - she told me when they would be out. I had an appointment I had to cancel. I might have objected and asked for another time but I really needed the hole closed and I wasn't sure she would efficiently offer we another time. I also feel that Jessica was responsible for several miscommunications. However, David Boyles and the two workers were great and I would definitely use this company again as long as David is the one giving the bids.

Excellent service from Bernard Contello and M & M Roofing, Siding & Windows. Am glad I chose M&M based on reviews from Angie's list; will gladly use them again and recommend them to others. Bernard was there to assist and keep me updated every step of the way; he even met me after work once the work was finished to perform an inspection. Thank you Bernard.

M & M is a small business. The owner of the company seems to be a genuinely nice guy who cares about his customers however the person doing estimates and scheduling the work seemed to be overbooked.I had to e-mail him to get any type of response. This was a one man job. Overall the work was satisfactory. I would use this company again

Great experience given the circumstances, we worked with David Boyles, would definitely consider using them again. We selected M&M based on Angie's list feedback. Our neighborhood experienced a significant hailstorm in mid-Jan, essentially totaling our and our neighbors roofs. This was a first experience with a storm like this and even more our first experience dealing with the onslaught of roofing companies canvassing the area. We met with several and something seemed off, since they offered to cover our deductible ($4000), or to work directly with our insurance company to recover "contingency" money. This is not a game you want to play since this is fraud by Texas law. We contacted M&M based on Angie's List feedback, and notably they were not one of the companies knocking on doors and dropping flyers. David Boyles with M&M met with my wife and was a straight-up guy, answered all questions & concerns, and informed us on important options. Shortly after meeting with David, we had a big rain and our damaged roof started to leak inside, and I was out of town. We decided to go with David immediately and he turned around two crews within a couple days and got the job done. We were impressed with the quality of the work, quality of shingles, they also added ridge vents which will improve our attic temps, removed decking and wet insulation at the leak location, replaced the vinyl glazing around most of the windows, and replaced a section of damaged wood fence. No job goes perfect and to me the test of a company is how they react & deal with issues. For us, we noticed some of the screens were damaged (likely falling shingles), and a section of the fence was oddly discolored. When we mentioned to David, he took care of both and with no issues or big challenges. Got to like that.

Called to get some estimates on water leaking into ceiling but a few things were troublesome. First, when I first called (around 10am on 2/9/12) the person who answered took my call very nice and responsive and I was told the area manager would call me back. 2 to 4 hours later and still no phone call, I call back asking when an area manager would call was told the manager would call around 5 or 5:30pm that day usually due to the high volume of work. So ok, just thinking to myself I wish they told me that earlier, instead of waiting for a call for a few hours. Unfortunately, they didn't call me back until the next day and scheduled an appointment for 2/17 for someone to provide an estimate. Then I was ok, fine. The only good thing was that they did arrive on the day and estimated time of arrival 11am-1pm (area manager David showed up about 11:15am) which was great. He was professional and punctual. He noted to me he wasn't the expert on these leaks and that "HE" would call his expert and that I should receive a call to setup another appointment to come out. It has now been two weeks since David had come out and STILL have not received any phone call for further followup/investigation. The only good of this was they were punctual and professional about things and my questions were answered. But come on, no followup call to continue and understand what work needs to be done. Where is the customer service here to help??? I gave a D in their overall performance due to their great punctuality and professionalism. But a D in responsiveness and actual continuing to work the job as I am just left hanging. Kind of make you feel as if your not important and they have too many jobs or something. Will continue to look for another contractor/company to help me out. Really want this thing fixed before next thunderstorm or heavy rain.

From the first phone call, it becomes evident that this company is responsive, professional, and takes pride in its work. We predominantly dealt with Mike Moncure. He provided a very timely and fair estimate on the work, which ultimately included removal of the old cedar shakes, two layers of shingles, installation of new decking, shingles, radiant barrier, and several skylights. The work started one day later than promised due to inclement weather; however, Mike was quick to call both my wife and I separately to inform us of the delay. Once started, the workflow was smooth and the job was completed on-time and as promised. The only negative point during the work was the promise to cover the pool during the work, which had not taken place. After a phone call to Mike and receiving a sincere apology, the issue was remedied and the remainder of the work was completed without any issues. In fact, our neighbor was so impressed with the speed, quality, and cleanliness of the crew that they asked for M&M's contact info for future use. Lastly, after a month of living at the house, we noticed a small area where the shingle has risen. After phone call, Mike was present to inspect the problem within 24 hours and explained that it was normal change associated with humidity shifts locally, but assured us that he would be back in 1 month to make sure the problem is resolved. We recommend this company without reservation.

M&M diagnosed the issue and took care of it in a timely fashion. We've had several strong rains and it is nice not having water penetrate into the house anymore. Good job!

Overall a good and positive experience. Bernard returned my calls promptly and I never felt rushed during our conversations. He was professional and courteous. He told me what was needed to repair it and the cost. And that was exactly the outcome. He even had his crew check the entire roof for any issues. If I ever need roofing services, M&M will be my roofer of choice.

I contacted M&M Roofing, Siding, and Windows to get an estimate of work that needed to be done after I had an inspection done on a house I am purchasing. I sent in the inspection report and informed them that I needed to get an estimate within the next 2 days as I was on a deadline and if they could not do it, I understood as it was a bit short notice. The lady I talked to on the phone was VERY nice and said she would send the inspection report to David. When I did not hear anything back I called the next day and asked if David had looked at the report and so the nice lady said she would call him. He returned my call and from the moment I answered the phone he was rude to me. I asked him if he could give me an estimate of the work that needed to be done from the report and if he needed to go to the house to take a look for himself then I could have my realtor make the appt. At this point he had not seen the report yet and asked me what the report said. I told him that some flashing was missing, some shingles were not adhered correctly, etc. but that I was no roofing expert and he'd have to look at the report. I also told him that there looked to be some wind damage, possibly from Hurricane Ike. He asked me if they did not disclose this to which I said yes, they had said there was SOME wind damage. He said it sounded like to him that they had gotten someone out who gave them an estimate of the work that needed to be done and since it probably did not meet their insurance deductible that they didn't fix it, which is what he would have done. I was flabbergasted. I called to simply get an estimate and he was giving me the 5th degree. I was not impressed and felt berated. I got ahold of another roofer who physically WENT to the property and gave me an estimate of work that needed to be done. In the meantime David went through the report and sent me his estimate, of which it was a one paragraph deal where he said nothing had to be done. The other roofer came back with an estimate around $1000, which is not a huge deal, but obviously there were SOME repairs that need to be done (he also found an active leak). Apparently David did not want to be bothered with me and was not interested in my business. I did call M&M back after I retained the other roofer and told them not to bother with the report (apparently he had already had a look at it by then) and explained this same situation to the nice lady that answered who apologized to me. I am VERY disappointed by this experience as I have had nothing but good luck with finding good companies from Angie's List and this company was HIGHLY rated with VERY good reviews. After this I will NEVER use them and would NOT recommend them to anyone I know.

Fantastic Experience! Travis was the salesperson who did a great job explaining what was causing the leak. He sent an estimate of the work that needed to be performed to solve our problem. Work was executed in a timely fashion with mannered roofers. We couldn't be more pleased with our experience with M&M. Travis is a gem to work with!

Called M&M to come out and see if they could find a leak in my roof. The area manager, Bernard, came out to my house with his crew and found the leak in about 10 minutes. He gave me an estimate and he scheduled the work on a Saturday because I told him was unable to take off from work that week. The crew arrived on time, replaced plumbing vent pipes, and repaired a section of the roof over the outdoor patio. Bernard took the time to show me one of the old plumbing vent pipes that was replaced so I could see where the leak was coming from. He explained everything they had to repair and why. That was really important to me. Extra support was added to a section of the roof that was sagging because the builder did not frame the roof sufficiently. I can't say enough good things about my experience with M&M Roofing. The crew was exceptional! And Bernard, the area manager, was great! The company repaired the roof and cleaned up all debris. There was not even a nail on the ground. Bernard came by during the work to ensure things were going smoothly. They did a great job! The next Monday there was a heavy rain and the roof help up great! After the work was completed, the owner of the company called me to make sure that I was satisfied with the work. I highly recommend this company! Fantastic roofer!

They did a good job for us. I had to call them back out several times because it kept leaking. They came and they didn't charge me any extra. They were very responsive. I would use them again.

Permanent roof installer was very accommodating and professional.

This roofing company was actually a referral from a friend of mine back in 2008, before I even joined Angie's List. He told me that they were honest, and performed great work, so I decided to give them a try, since I needed an honest assessment of my roof after Hurricane Ike. My roof did not seem to have damage, and roofers were driving by telling me that I definitely had roof damage, without even taking a closer look. This company spend almost an hour inspecting the roof, and pointed out some minor items, but nothing deserving of replacing the roof at that point. As for the repairs made yesterday, I was really impressed with their attention to customer satisfaction. A quote was sent to me via email prior to service, and I thought the price was reasonable. A call was made by the supervisor prior to coming out, and the supervisor arrived on time with the work crew, and the repairs were made very quickly and with little disruption. Even though the supervisor left to let the work crew perform the repairs, he came back the next day to inspect their work. Overall, they did a great job, were extremely friendly, and did not tell me that I needed repairs that I actually did not need. Communications with the supervisor before, during, and after the work performed, was excellent. I would definitely recommend this roofing company to others. The only complaint that I have (not really a complaint, but a suggestion to improve workflow), is they had left one of their cutting tools at our front door, which we took into our house overnight. They came by the next day and picked it up and apologized though.

I thought the price was fair. The quality and the professionalism were very good. Everything seems to be well done.

I had two estimators come out to my house to check for the leak in my roof. I gave both of them the same speech as to what had happened and all of the steps that had been taken to fix the problem (to no avail.) The first one that came (and eventually got my business) actually went into my attic and found the water damage and discovered where it was coming from then developed a plan of action to fix it. When M&M roofing came, the man went on my roof and suggested that the leak might be coming from some tiles that looked to have been separated. All he could suggest was to replace a certain amount of tiles on the roof. Absolutely no tiles needed to be replaced to fix my water problem, and I'm upset that such a course of action was suggested to me. Their representative was condesending at best.

Called with my info to company. Mike called me right back. Explained that we needed all of the trim work on the beach house replaced. Told him not to make a special trip down to Galveston for the estimate. He contacted me via e-mail with estimate within a few days. Estimate was reasonable. Work was scheduled for the next week. It only took the two workers one day to the complete job. I never had to be there or meet with anyone. Mailed check into Houston office. I inspected their work and seems to be nicely done. Super easy to do business with in this area. Had tried three different companies before M&M with no luck. Thank you to Mike and his workers at M&M for getting the job done and a job done well. Thanks to Angie's list too!

Bernard Contello, the manager/rep for my area was a pleasure to work with. This job was a lot of money for me, and Bernard helped me understand the pros/cons of various approaches and thier cost implications. There was no overt sales-pitch or up-selling, just a discussion of what he thought worked best and why. In several areas he suggested a lower cost approach because his experience was that it provided the best mix of value and durability. He also helped me work through a minor structural issue for my garage. Finally, given my work and travel schedule, I had to shift the installation around and finally back in time a few months. This was no problem and never any discusson about changes in price -- they stuck with their original quote. I received several bids for the work. M&Ms was in the mid range, a little more than half-way between my lowest and highest. I went with them primarily based on the Bernard's quiet confidence and professionalism as well as their reputation. Also, they didn't cut corners just to offer a lower price. M&M's whole attitude was "We'll get the job done right, on time, and at a reasonable price". The work took about 3-1/2 days, about a day longer than anticipated because of the slope of the roof. M&M's crew was on time each day, and worked hard throughout the day to get the job done. Each day they only removed as much old roof as they could replace the same day so the house was never left unprotected from rain over night. They cleaned-up as much as possible each day so the house never appeared really untidy, and did a general clean-up on the last day. Some of the crew had been with M&M for many years and some for a few, but everyone was experienced and they worked as a cohesive team. Bernard check in several times each day to see how things were going. The new roof looks great! The owner, Doug Moncure, called about 2 weeks after the work to make sure I was still happy. We haven't had a heavy rain to test it yet but I'm sure it will either hold very well or M&M will come back and correct it without any issues. Would I use them again -- Absolutely!
