The 4 or 5 man crew started out early Saturday morning. They were suppose to be there Friday afternoon. We waited all afternoon into the evening. No one called. Saturday morning, Joe called and apologized. The crew showed up and performed all services within a couple of hours. The workmanship they did was excellent, especially when replacing the wood that was ruined by water leak from the damage the squirrels had done to the lead plumbing jack.

We were not home when services were provided. Joe said that we didn't have to be. From observation, the work looks good. We left paint for the crew and they painted the jacks when done. There was no mess. They really do clean after their projects. My only stickler is that punctuality is very good.

Installation went well. Owners were responisive to minor issues. Results are excellent. AC isn't running all day long anymore.

I did not have a good experience with them. They did complete the work. They did get paid. They were not pleasant about it. They subcontracted out the work to people. I told them no work was to be performed when I was not at home. They came when I was not at home. They damaged a lot of stuff. There were some of the subs I never met. They left piles of trash. I was not happy. They did not clean up afterwards. I tried to talk to the owner. I think he thought he would get a pat on the back. He got huffy with me. I thought he would be interested. I tried to explain there were problems on the job such as light fixtures were damaged and trash and the color of my driveway changed. He got mad. He was expecting me to thank him. This was 5 years ago. I was curious what other people said about them. I would not use them again. They never addressed our issues. I wanted to be honest with him. My broken lights are still broken. The finish is ruined on the metal lights. They are so expensive and I had them just redone. A lot of the issues have never been corrected. The driveway was perfect and then something got on it and bleached it all out. I had instructed them to cover everything up. It was all over the bushes too and I did not want a sloppy job. All the wood and boards were piled up. The neighbours were put out because all the trash was there and it went on for months. I finally went out there to sort out the trash. They then show up with a trailer and drive off. They said, "you shouldn't have done that." I did not need any trouble with the home owner's association as I had not moved in yet. When they put the sliding doors in, I said you need to make sure flashing goes over this. I said I needed to be there to see this. He told me it was there. I told him to tear it out and it wasn't there. The guy said, "I could have sworn it was there." I said, "It doesn't matter. Just do it." I told them not to come on the weekends as the owners association do not allow it. When do they come? At the weekends. It was very frustrating. I paid them to get rid of them. Nobody could prove that they damaged the lights. They would not even discuss it. The trash was left there for 3 months. They were really pushing me to get new gutters. Update Doug Moncure called and left me a message saying he had found my account and spoke to his foreman who confirmed that there had been problems on my job. That was 6 months ago. He hasn't changed his response on this review or offered to pay for even one light.

I found this contractor on Angie's List. My soffits and eaves were all rotted out (70 year old house). I also have 2 dormers in the attic that needed new siding and soffits. I also wanted to put in recessed lights outside, and replace the old dormer windows (glass) with louvred vents for better attic ventilation. These last requirements meant finding a contractor that would work side-by-side with me. I called 4 separate contractors, all with A ratings on Angie's List. For M&M, I called the main number. I got a receptionist, with whom I left a message. Within a few hours, Joe Harris called me back to set up an appointment to come look at the house and give an estimate. Joe showed up on exactly on time. He spent no more than 5 minutes at my house, taking some quick measurements and discussing details of the project with me. I was kind of surprised that he spent so little time, and had low expectations at that point. However, within a week or so, Joe emailed me a very detailed bid for the job (see description of work provided above). He had it down to the size of the boards needed, and broke it down by price. Of all the contractors's bids, his was by far the most professional and detailed. After mulling my options for a month or so, I eventually selected M&M to do this work. I called Joe, and he asked me to sign the proposal document and email back to him. I did, and he replied that he would put me on "the list" of jobs to be done by his crew. Within 2 weeks, he called saying that his crew was ready. We selected a day, and they showed up right on time. Joe came out to supervise once each day for 30 minutes or so, then took off to check out other jobs. The crew supervisor was very nice, spoke English (at least enough for me to communicate with), and new exactly what he was doing. The job ended up taking extra time due to rainout, but the crew did an excellent job from start to finish. I was especially impressed by the way they paid attention to details, like replacing rotten framing members (not in scope of work), cutting precise holes for me recessed lights, and caulking every tiny crack. At the end of the job, Joe came out to inspect with me and get my feedback, saying he wants me to be satisfied. I had no problems or concerns to address, then or now. I HIGHLY recommend M&M for siding work!

Mike took the lead as project manager and was always very punctual and polite. He made multiple trips out to the house to make sure we got the roof we wanted and was even willing to drive around the neighborhood to look at nearby roofs. The work was done on time and rather quickly. Moreover, the team added more ridge vents than we had before or had asked for (at no additional cost), so hopefully the house will be cooler, too. The work crew was also polite and cleaned up well after they were done, so they it was impossible to know that the roof was recently replaced, other than the fact it was brand new. Best off, I think these guys are very honest, when I called Mike a few days after I had already paid for the job to inform him that I had forgotten to ask for my Angie's List discount, he promptly had a refund check sent out to me. How about that? I would not hesitate to use them, again.

Contract signed June 7th Work started June 26th. I have contracted with M&M Siding and Roofing to put Hardie Plank on the front of my house, over the garage, the fascia and soffit, replace one window, do some minor repair in the back, and paint the Hardie they installed, plus the two other gable ends. They made arrangements to come on the 26th of June to do the work, since Mike (area manager) was going on vacation and wouldn't be available before then. Unfortunately it has been a horrible experience to date. They came, they did the work, they made a mess of it, and it is still that way. They left areas that are un-level, crooked, and there are huge gaps in the trim around the garage doors. They left gaping holes between the boards on the gable trim over the garage. Some 3/8 and inch to ½ inch. They tried to hide some of it with big nasty wads of caulk. There are un-level and uneven areas on the soffit area also. There was/is also an issue with my old front metal security door. They had removed it, and when re installed, it wouldn't close properly. NOTE THAT THERE ARE THREE PIECES TO THE FRAME OF MY SECURITY DOOR…This is also the area where I heard hard pounding and the inside door trim actually came loose during the day. They've used some kind of filler as a shim between the door frame and the door, (bending the frame) and again, used big wads of caulk…One crew member (only saw HIM once that day, then he left) informed me that my door wasn't square, and that was why it wasn’t working. . The next morning one of the crew managed to finally get it back to where it would open and close, BUT it took over an hour and a half and it’s still not right… I originally had HEX Screws and they used regular wood screws to reinstall. Mike informed me it was because a different person put the door back up then had removed it. The guy who finally fixed it to where it would at least open and close and “sort of” lock, managed to locate one of the door parts and re install it This was PART of the a piece of the part that lets the door actually latch and lock) There are however, STILL major parts which allow the door to lock, missing. I contacted Mike about all of these issues and he came and looked. He acted like it was not a big deal, and told me all the caulk was actually okay and it would look okay when the painters were finished. I said it was unacceptable, and it had to be repaired. He agreed to send someone out. Agreed to replace screws in the door. Knows about missing pieces. Apathetic and not at all interested in saying they will replace. Next is the wait. While he was here, I told him I was available the following Monday, Wednesday and/or Friday for repairs. I also told him that Tuesday was out, I couldn't cancel my appointments and why. Obviously he wasn't listening to me, because later I received email asking about Tuesday the 2nd of July. . I sent one back saying NO that wouldn't work. That was the last I heard from him for 12 days. I had tried calling him during that time and didn't get an answer. Meanwhile I decided to do a very thorough inspection and to take pictures of the work performed. This is what else I found wrong…. The left gaps and made bad cuts, (miters not straight and the materials appear to have been rough cut with a worn out saw blade) at the peak of the house, (gable over the garage) they installed a new octagon shaped air vent that is several noticeable inches off center…. Around my front door, they installed the Hardie touching the steps. (According to Hardie spec’s this is not the correct way to install.) They also installed the siding to touching the concrete in the driveway in front of the garage. Mike said that he didn't know what could be done about that. Pretty straight forward I think. Fix it. The first siding plank above the garage door starts out flush and is hanging down about ¾ of an inch on the other end. I am not sure any of it is level. Since they tore everything off that area, including some of the framing, it is their responsibility to put it back correctly. All in all it’s just a nasty looking mess. I sent Mike an email, and told him I had found MORE wrong, offered to send pictures and STILL I didn't hear from him. Fast forward to July 8th. I first called and got his voice mail. I left a very detailed message at about 8:00 a.m. telling him that he needed to get the repairs taken of. No return call. I waited until mid-afternoon and sent him several very close up pictures of the mess that has been made. That got a call back. He came about 3:00 p.m. looked and acted like none of this is a big deal, made excuses for the poor workmanship, insinuated that there wasn't that much wrong with the job they have done, but he would get it fixed. I asked when, and he couldn't give me an answer. I was later informed that July 16 is when they will send someone to fix the mess. I feel like M&M sent a crew of unskilled workers, who have absolutely no pride whatsoever in their work, and skimped on materials. (they loaded up a lot of unused material and took it with them when they left, so there was no reason for them to have pieced things together as they did) I told Mike that I don’t see how they ever got all the A’s on Angie’s list, because I’m not seeing it at all in their work. Mike has attempted to make an excuse for every single thing the crew did wrong, and says he doesn't understand why I am so angry. By leaving it for so long, I feel he has acted in an apathetic manner regarding the job. He also made mean remarks about a previously done area in front. This is the same area he said DID NOT need to be redone, and said that it looked fine when he inspected the house prior to submitting the bid. I am posting pictures that I believe are self-explanatory. Caulk is NOT Bondo. According to what I've read of the Hardie installation spec’s, there are specific ways to install these products. I have informed Mike that I intend to print copies specs for both him and his crew. Until this is done properly I will not allow them to install the window or to paint. At this point, I really think the whole thing needs to be redone by a professional, skilled crew. Yes, it is that bad. I contracted for a professional job to be done in a timely manner. I have not received that. July 16, 2013 The not so big deal of repairs turned out to be removing the whole gable over the garage and rebuilding. Mike tried to tell me at one point when they were putting it back up that it should be left un-level because because the garage door was crooked etc. and that it would look better. They finally completed the rework on the 17th. There are still some things that don’t look quite right. I don’t like the look of the nails sticking out through the paint on the trim. They should have been even with the materials. July 22, 2013. M&M are here today trying to finish up the painting. It’s been a month of waiting, and mess ups are horrible. Mike brought the wrong paint. Tried to argue with me that it matched the paint chip I gave him. It didn't, and on further inspection of the large paint can, I know why. He was also put out with me that I didn't notice this before the job was nearly finished. Probably because I would assume that anyone can match a paint chip? I ended up having to go out and purchase the replacement paint myself, for which I am deducting from the price of the job. And yes I did use another brand of paint because I don’t like the brand they use due to the lack of choice of finishes. He acts like they will be doing me a favor by repainting. His mistake. Not mine. I did try to contact the owner regarding the job on July 10th. I left a message for him to return my call. The lady on the phone asked if I needed to speak to a representative instead. I told her no, I needed to speak with the owner. She told me she would get the message to him that I had called. I have had NO return call. (my phone log supplied date) One bird box didn't get rebuilt. Hardie still touches the concrete in front between garage doors. Major Issues with security door. I have concluded that they BENT the frame when they removed it, thus the reason for the shims on the re install. I mentioned this to Mike more than once, and his response is that I already told him that. NO offer to fix beyond putting the correct bolts in the door. Yes it’s an old door, but it’s heavy, it’s iron, it was all there, and it worked properly. I want all the missing parts to my door replaced, and want them re installed. Regarding repairs that were completed. I want to make it plain that Ramon, his helper (Jerry) and the painter have done their best to do to make the corrections. They seem to be conscientious and to care about their work. There just isn't a way for THEM to fix the door. That will require a professional. At this time: Hire again NO Contracted price for whole job CASH price $4421 before cost of paint purchased by me deducted. Grade F

All the roofing companies I talked to, their offers were good, except I wasn't ready to pull a trigger on that job. Pretty much everybody quoted me between $15000 an $18000. M & M came out, they were awesome and they answered my questions. They weren't pushy at all.

If they have so much business that they can't return a phone call, I can just imagine how prompt they'd be about a new roof.

We were seeing an external leak during rains on the intersection of our gutters and the roof. Our gutters are about two years old, so we first called our gutter contractor to take a look and see what might be wrong. They came by and told us that it seemed to be a roofing issue. We looked at Angie's list and shortlisted a few roofing companies. We called the first one and he came by to take a look while we were not home. He then emailed us an estimate of $395 to basically tear out all the shingles in that little area and put them back. I then called M&M roofing, actually, I filled out their online estimate request on their website. Nathan called me immediately and set up an appointment with me for Saturday. He called me half an hour ahead of the appointment to let me know that he was on his way. He got here right on time, and then spent about 45 minutes diagnosing the problem thoroughly. He used the water hose to try and simulate the leak and systematically eliminated potential problems with the roof/gutter. He ultimately found the issue to be a single nail in the roof whose placement in combination with the gutter placement was causing the leak. He explained that the nail was where it should be, and the roof was installed properly. At the same time, the gutter was also installed properly and this was just one of those weird situations where two correctly installed items put together were creating this situation. His solution was simple - get some roof sealant from Home Depot and seal the area around the nail to water-proof it. I liked the professionalism and integrity with which he took time and diagnosed the problem, instead of just waving a hand in the air and saying that everything needs to be changed. I also liked his honesty; he acted in our best interests and did the right thing by telling us what the real problem was, even though he could have easily tried to take advantage of the situation and quoted a few hundred dollars in random repairs (which is what the first person we called did). Such honesty is hard to come by these days. He charged us nothing. In summary, he came on a Saturday, arrived on time, spent over an hour diagnosing the issue, and then told us the truth about the issue, even though it meant that he got paid nothing. There is no question that if we have another roofing/siding/window/door issue, we will be calling M&M Roofing again.

From first contact with Mr. Michael McCollom, to quote, contract, ordering, schd and install was less then 30 days with install of 2 hours. Michael McCollom and his work crew were very professional, knowledgeable and skilled. It was easy dealing with them and I will be contracting their services in the future.

Prompt response to provide estimate. Work complete within estimated completion date. Price for the work was very reasonable

They offered a comparable bid. I used them for my siding replacement previous to this job. My experience from that work made the choice easy. The owner called me both times to see how things went and if there were any problems. Not often you get that kind of service anymore. I would recommend them and will use them again if needed

These guys were great. Finished the job on time, left the job site very clean and were very professional. Would highly recommend them.

They were fine. They did everything they said they were gonna do and there had been no problems yet. They were on time and got it done in one day.

They were good! They came out right away, and fixed our roof. They've done the work fast.

Everything went well. Expect lots of people to be there and camp out in every bit of shade you have extra. In addition, no matter how much they clean, it doesn't get all cleaned up. Still finding random nails and sheets of roofing material in little spots.

Bernard gave me the best price out of three quotes and he was very pleasant to work with. His crew did a great, timely job and I am very satisfied with the new roof.

We went with another vendor for lower cost

The gentleman that showed up was misinformed as to why he was there and very unimpressive. He gave me the feeling he wasn't trustworthy and would tell me anything I wanted to hear if I would just sign his commitment form.

Went well. Had an issue with some areas that did not have paint on the downspouts and the owner came out and took care of the issue and supplies us with a can of paint to touch up the gutters anytime scratches showed up on the gutters.

It took a while to get the crew out to do the work. Their manager was on vacation during part of the time we waited and then they also had a bigger job at another location that needed their attention. However, I must say that once the crew came out and were done, I was absolutely and completely impressed with the work. It looks like new. Excellent quality. The crew also did a great job of cleaning up, although a little sawdust was spotted in the driveway, but, not a big deal of course. The main area they worked in was spotless. I will more than likely use this company again!

They were good. They're flexible, I asked them to do some extra work for me and I kind of bargain with them on it and they were good. They're fine, they did the work, they didn't leave any mess, and they were prompt. Their price was competitive but it wasn't a bargain.
