Lone Star Solar Screens

I have had the solar screens since 7/2018. The problem is with customer service. I have one particular screen that has to be fixed for the third time. I’ve been calling each week for the past four weeks and they keep saying “we’ll be out Saturday or Monday” or” we ‘re short of workers”. Being short is not an appropriate excuse. I’ve put a call in to the manager and of course he hasn’t called me back. Give your money to a company that appreciates your business.

Lone Star Solar Screens had the best price and service available. Screens were ready in 4 days including the weekend. They were very responsive.

They came out to measure first and then the screens were installed around 4 days later. They were prompt for both appointments and they cleaned up after themselves. They did a beautiful job. I would use them again in the future and we've already recommended their services.

In mid-March I called Lone Star Screens to get a quote on the cost of solar screens for my entire house. We set up an appointment and they came out that week. One man came out and gave me a written quote of the cost of all the solar screens for my house. I also asked him to add on the cost of washing each window before the screens were attached. I was happy with the quote, but we had to wait for our HOA to approve all. So, in mid -May the screens color and frame color were approved as we chose them. The next day the company sent 2 men to our home in the morning and they cleaned all my outside windows in about 45 minutes. Then they put up the screens and drilled them to adhere to the existing window frames, also about 45 minutes. My husband and I were very impressed with the work they did. Good job and good value.

Everything went great. The company usually provides solar screens, full size of the window. I was looking to replace my bug/insect screens, that only go on the bottom half of the window. The agreed to come out leave a quote, since I couldn't be home. The quote was for $200, installed (12 windows). I had a quote from lowe's for custom made screens (which I would install myself). It was $350. I called that day to approve the job. The screens were installed approximately a week later. I appreciate that they were able to do the job w/o my being home. They left an invoice, and I called them w/ my credit card info. to pay. Nice and easy.

It was very easy to set up an appointment. Terry came out and accurately measured the five windows I wanted the solar screens on. He recommended the solar screen color he thought we be best in the area. The screens were ready quickly. Daniel and his crew came for the installation. They did a wonderful job. I can already feel the difference in my house where the solar screens were placed. Everyone I spoke with and met were super friendly and very nice. I would use them again.

I really appreciate company efforts to contact me immediately after my message on angielist. They sent their reps on the day we have scheduled in time and gave us free estimate. As we read many good review about the company we just went ahead to order and install over 20s window screens. They send their reps for 2nd time for exact measurement. As some windowscreen we wanted to have the grids over them so they will be more costly. In two week the order has been arrived and they installed the screen wihout our presence. It was so convenience as we work both. When wefound they installed one of the screen on the window that wasnt in the order, they reordered the correct one and didnt charge us for it. It's very true they charge only when the job completed and the customer is satisfied with. I highly recommend them. Trusty company! Thanks for your service, you made our home is much more sustainable with summer heat. It substantially reduces the heat inside the house.

Workman ship and quality: - Prompt for measurement and quote. - Easy to schedule work. No need to be home for installation. - Manufactured and installed in about week. - Materials of good quality. Effective Heat Control Solved our problem. Master bed room use to be 5 degrees warmer than the rest of the downstairs on hot sunny days. Temp in Master bed room now consistent (within 1 degree) rest of downstairs. Cost: - Quite reasonable. 4 large screen for $200. What could have been better: When installed, the supporting cross bar on the screens face outward and is visible. My preference is to flip the screen so that cross bar is not visible. It is not something we talked about during the quote process, but I thought the installer should have notice that is how the old screens being replaced and all the other screens on the back of the house were set up. I will call to confirm flipping the screens does not effect performance and may flip them over myself later if the mounting holes line up. Not a huge issue, but one that will be around for 15 years or so. Overall rating is A-

It was great. They were cheaper than the previous people that I had talked to. I can't tell you exactly what the price was but they were real quick. They did a great job. They cleaned my windows before they put them on and I was real impressed with the service.

Lone Star Solar screens has performed work for me before, and I was satisfied with their previous work, on this project, I had them install solar screens on all windows, Job was performed very well, on time, and on budget. would use them again.

they came out and gave me an estimate right on the spot. the guy measured all the windows, showed me the different types of screens. the did come back to do more detailed measuring for the actual manufacturing of the screens. I think it took about ten days before they came back to install. not a bad time frame for custom work.

The tech came out and he was very polite. He measured all the windows and he fabricated all the screens. He came back within a week and installed the screens. It looked great. They did what they were supposed to do.

It was an excellent experience start to finish. They came out and bid the job when they said they would, the price they quoted for the screens and installation was by far the best. I always get three bids for a job and the other two came in at $3,200 and $1,650. I was a little dubious because they were so much less than the competition but I was reassured by the flood of positive reviews here and elsewhere. Man were they right. They bid the job without us home, no need to be there, left the bid on the door for us. When we called and accepted the work they came out and measured for the screens (again no need for us to be home) and then came and did the installation (again without us there) and left the bill on the door. There was a small issue after installation where a window had been forgotten. Which I attribute entirely to me. I had focused them rather intently on a couple of windows on that side of the house that I wanted to have done at 90% instead of 80% screening and I kept saying the two upper windows on that side, when in fact there were three upper windows (I had forgotten my son's bedroom has a window there). When I called to talk to Pauline (the person I've dealt with there from the beginning) about it I was told that the installer had noticed that and a screen for that window was already in production and they would be out to install it. Within a few days it was on. Pauline did a great job making sure we were happy and everything was done the way we wanted it. The screens have brought the temperature in the house down significantly. When our house was built in 2008 the builder used a 5 ton unit zoned with a damper to cool a 4,000 square foot house. Needless to say it wasn't keeping up very well in the summers and it was miserable. One option was to install a second unit, which would have required a new furnace with a totally massive price tag. I figured we would try some other tactics first. I'm glad we did. The solar screens from lone star are working wonders and the price and service was amazing. If you are shopping for solar screens I highly recommend this company before you overpay somewhere else. We are very impressed. A+++ all the way.

We really wanted to get his screens. the problem came with the way they wanted to install the screens. The only way he knew was to screw the solar screens directly into the frames of my new $120000 worth of windows. I called Allied Windows and was told doing that would void the warranty on my windows. After talking to serveral friends who installed solar screens, I learned they could be screwed into Hardie. I contacted Lone Star again and was told they only way they could install the solar screens was directly into the vinyl frames. He did not want to consider any other way. I was informed that they did not have the hardware for any other method of installation. I would be delighted to go to the hardware store to get Molly bolts and screw on mirror clips. His price on the screens was so good I would have bought the installation hardware myself. His refusal to consider any other installation methods that I know are on other like windows was disappointing.

It was an A. They were on time, response is A. They are all A's. I just haven't used them yet. They were very efficient, professional, responsive. Very quick to give me an estimate. Didn't take a lot of my time. Again, I haven't' used them for anything yet, I need to ask my owner's association to see if I can put them on. Very professional, very responsive, very efficient in giving your quote, didn't waste your time.

Went very well. On time for estimate, provided info I needed to get approval from HOA and installed on time, even cleaned windows before installing and help us get a microwaved installed in tight space when we needed an extra set of hands.

It went well the second time as well. Not sure of date or money but sure of the service.

The process was very easy. They gave me a quote without me having to be home and left sample screens for my review. I tried calling other companies, but no one else would give me a quote when I told them I had a quote from Lone Star. The screens have a life time warranty as long as you live in the house. The warranty covers everything from fading to weather related damages. The amount of light in my house was reduced, and the best way I could describe the difference is like having window tint on a car vs. not having any at all. Overall I am very pleased with Lone Star Solar Screens.
