They showed up on time every day. The owner paints with his immediate family. That means no day labor pick up. We had them do many difficult extras. They repaired a door which tilted becauseof dry weather, as well as many cracks in the wall. Each painter was a prefectionisst. Yes, they were expensive, but I've had it with the low bidders.

The team did an excellent job! The sheetrock and ceiling repairs were so skillfully done that you cannot tell we had any ceiling cracks or damage from the water leak. Their paint lines (where wall meets woodwork) are wonderfully straight - very important in my book. They did a great job matching our existing paint and in recommending a new woodwork trim color. They fixed painting issues left by the previous owners of our house; for instance, the previous owners of our house had used latex paint over oil-based woodwork paint, so the L&J team sanded down the woodwork where needed before applying the new oil-based woodwork paint. In terms of risk management, I was impressed by two things: they included a copy of their insurance certificate with the initial estimate, and when they were doing the ceiling work in the den (a two-story room requiring use of a scaffold), they taped down their drop cloth so that no one would trip. The team was very diligent in covering our furniture and floors and in cleaning up their mess each day. All in all, they did a fantastic job, and I would highly recommend L&J Painting.

Manuel's crew was very professional and worked quickly. They were very detail-oriented and I love the work they did. You cannot tell that there was a hole in our ceiling! They go above and beyond the quote to provide you with the great look you want. They do their best to work around your schedule and I could not be happier with choosing them for our renovation project.

Manuel and his crew were terrific--very punctual, neat and fast. It only took one week for the 5-6 man crew to paint our entire house. We especially loved how they put everything back and cleaned up (even vacuuming) after each day's work. They made the whole process go so smoothly. We will definitely use them again in the future.

L&J painted my living room and kitchen. In the kitchen they removed wallpaper first. They arrived punctually every morning and worked all day with few breaks. They moved and covered all furniture-nothing was damaged. They were professional, quick, clean, and did everything we agreed upon. The rooms looked great when they finished. I was totally satisified. I hired Manuel and his team to paint much of the interior of our new home. The biggest part of the job was to paint our dark walnut block paneling and kitchen cabinets white. This is incredibly labor intensive work and they did a great job. It is flawless. They also took the 1970's vintage intercoms out of the bedroom and patched the drywall, re-textured and painted. You would never know the intercom panels had been there. There were also several rooms and closets that needed painting. Manuel and his crew were wonderful to work with and were there when they said they would be and left everything neat and clean when they were finished. We showed our house to some our friends and family after it was painted and before we moved in. Everyone said it looked like a new home thanks to the great job done by Manuel and his team.I would highly recommend this company.

Manuel visited our property and emailed an estimate fo us. We agreed to the price and scheduled a service date. He arrived with a small crew in the morning and after letting me know they were ready, he and his crew began work immediately. They did a very nice job and were courteous and conscientious. They kept the worksite neat and orderly.

Manuel was very pleasant when he came to provide an estimate and when he followed up; however, their price for repainting the entire interior, trim, and doors, as well as repairing some cracks, holes, and nail pops was $3,000 higher than the next highest bid! I am going with someone who comes highly recommended from my Realtor, is asking 40% less, and offers the same guarantees. I am sure they would do a good job, but shop around.

Manuel Anton was extremely responsive and thorough from start to finish. He returned my calls and emails promptly and was one of the only painters we contacted who actually followed up with us for an estimate in a timely fashion. His crew completed the work over two days and we're very pleased with the results. I would highly recommend them and hope to use their services again in the future.

L&J responded very promptly to my request for an estimate. Within a couple of days, I had a detailed written estimate of the work to be performed and a proposed date to start the work. This was impressive considering that I hadn't even heard back from several of the companies that I had contacted about providing bids. Manuel and his team showed up right on time, matched the color of my paint perfectly and completed the entire job within a couple of hours (I had been expecting the project to take the whole day but Manuel's team worked very effeciently in getting everything done quickly). The house looks great and I will definitely use his services again.

Manuel came on time to give us an estimate. We had most of our 3000 sq ft painted and a couple of areas on the wall that needed repair. He was very professional and friendly. We got a few estimates and even before seeing the cost of each estimate, my husband and I hoped that L & J would be reasonably priced because we really liked Manuel's demeanor. You know how sometimes you can just tell when someone is honest and genuine... well, that's how we felt with Manuel. Turns out his estimate was the most reasonable of the four estimates we got. Manuel was prompt in his responses to us by email and by phone. We had to contact him a few times to clarify the paint colors we wanted. They use Sherwin William ProMar 200 paint. We hired him to do the job and he was able to come 3 days later. On Friday morning (8AM), he and his crew came on time. They were all professional. They clarified about the existing nails, fixtures, and window coverings before painting. Manuel even pointed out a few minor cracks on the ceiling that he painted at no additional charge. They worked late into Friday evening (6PM) and came back sharply on Saturday morning (8AM) to finish the work. They were finished with the job by Saturday afternoon (4PM). We were really happy with the finished work. The painting was beautiful and the wall that they repaired looked flawless. We had a few walls that where the old colors were dark maroon and dark brown. We chose lighter colors and the color was all uniform. They removed all the nails and screws and patched up the areas. All the light fixtures and window rods were removed and placed back after the painting was done. There was absolutely no problems with paint drippings. They cleaned up after they were done. Manuel told us that he guaranteed his work for a year. If there was any chipping or problems, he would come back to take care of it. I am extremely happy with the work. I highly recommend using L & J.

When we were finally ready to do the work, and scheduled the fireplace project, we were able to schedule Manny and his crew for two days later. They arrived on time, and after reviewing the job, moved and covered all of our furniture. I was consulted whenever any questions or concerns came up - like when they showed me how the fireplace wasn't set flush with the framing boards, and how they would have to move it. They put a good amount of effort into making sure the fireplace was re-situated flush with the supports, and even replaced some sections of wood that had rotted. Overall, the project went great. It took longer than I had anticipated, but besides having to wait for some things to try before working on them again the next day, they were always busy. I felt like they were all very knowledgeable, with a great attention to detail. They repainted the entire wall, and replaced the baseboards, as the new flush tile surrounding on the fireplace took up less room than the old brick hearth. When everything was complete, the wife and I were very happy with the outcome, and our living room feels great, and more inviting now. We would definitely use L&J again in the future, and recommend them to friends.

Guys did a great job in a small amount of time. We also had the kitchen walls re-textured as well as a few cracks fixed. Will be calling them back to do some additional areas soon. Give them a call. You wont be disappointed.

Manuel and his team did an excellent job with an extensive and varied scope of work on our home. They were generally very punctual and responsive to our questions and minor scope changes. They cleaned up their work areas at the end of each day. Their pricing was very competitive, and in the end, we felt like we got an excellent result for the price paid. If they felt that additional work was needed, they consulted us prior to proceeding, to obtain approval. All in all, we had an excellent experience with this company. On a few occasions, we did have to remind them of some tasks that needed to be performed or point out areas that weren't quite done to our satisfaction, but they never argued about what we asked, and fixed all of the items that we pointed out. I can definitely recommend Manuel and his crew based on my experience.

Manuel, Was on time and very detailed. He was always willing to comprimise on what was needed to make us happy and get the job we wanted done right. We were able to negotiate the price with him and work with him and always with a positive note. His crew was polite and usually early to work willing to put in a long day. His finished work was of very high quality and he was patient with me as I had changed my mind several times once I saw a swatch of the color on the wall. I would give him and his team high marks and would recommend him to any one who wants their home to look like new again. There was one minor detail towards the end but he acknowledged it and sorted it all out. He went above and beyond what he said he and his team were going to do. They were very punctual in giving me the estimate. They showed up on time and sent me the proposal on time. There were no hassles and they were ready to get going. I checked another couple of companies and their price was competitive. They really knew what they were talking about. They talked about codes and about using primer, and how many people it would take and what time it would take. The materials they were talking about were of high quality. They were willing to accommodate my schedule to avoid disruptions to my data to day activities at home. I recommend them with my eyes closed.

They were extremely prompt on both the day of the estimate, and the days the work was completed. Their work was professional and completed within a timely manner. Though of their team speaks Spanish as a first language, there was always at least one person on staff who was very fluent in English, so there was never a communication barrier. Their pricing was fair. Solid pay for very solid work. I would highly recommend.

Wow! All I can say is "ditto" for all the other great reviews. When I first called for information my call was returned promptly. When Manuel said he would come out to provide an estimate he showed up at the exact time promised and was very courteous and professional. He provided a written estimate via e-mail and we worked out all of the details for the work via e-mail. On the scheduled day he showed up with his father, uncle, and 3 other workers. All of them immediately put on shoe covers and spent time getting oriented on exactly what needed to be done. They worked like a well-oiled machine. With a crew of 6 they were able to spread out and work in multiple rooms at a time. They moved furniture where necessary and put it back exactly where it came from when they were done. They covered everything with plastic thoroughly. They took great care when using an extension ladder not to leave any marks on the wall. I was amazed by how clean the crew left everything. They dusted and vacuumed areas where they worked, and frankly if it weren't for the slight paint smell I wouldn't be able to tell they were ever here. Manuel said he thought they could finish in the two days that I had available, and they finished in 1.5 days, even with a little bit of extra work added to their scope at the last minute. There was one VERY minor glitch that was handled quickly and professionally. I noticed there was a small spot of caulk on a sofa. I suspect someone just brushed against it while they were getting ready to leave after Day 1. I pointed it out to Manuel on Day 2 and he quickly made sure that it got removed. You can't tell now that it was ever there. Bottom line I was thoroughly impressed by this company and would not hesitate to use them again or refer them to a friend.

I was very impressed with Manuel and his crew from L&J's Painting. Manuel was always pleasant and my favorite contractor to work with throughout the renovations of our new home. He was very easy to work with. He was very hardworking and managed his crew well. He was prompt in returning calls and emails. But, what struck me most about Manuel is that he always made sure that you were happy with his work. If there was any question or problem I had about the outcome of anything......without hesitation, he would do whatever was necessary to make it right. Many times, I was afraid he would disappoint like other contractors do....but NOT Manuel.....if there was anything you were unhappy with or questioned....he ALWAYS made it right...no fight at all. He was also very reasonable in his pricing....but even more impressive was that he was always willing to work with me on pricing. His crew was very polite and respectful at all times. One of his crewmen in particular was Rocky. He was persistent, patient, and worked hard. You could tell he took pride in his work. I would recommend him and request him for touchup work if possible. The only suggestion I have for them is possibly to do a little more protection/covering during the touchup process. Several areas (stairs, brick floor) had tiny paint specks even after asking to clean. So, I had to spend a little time going back and cleaning those up individually myself. Prevention goes a long way....so perhaps next time drop cloth or tape would help. Overall, very impressed with Manuel and his company. I will definitely be using them again for all of my painting needs. I have already recommended them to several of my friends.

I was very impressed with L&J's Painting Services from the very beginning. From the time of the estimate to finishing the work, L&J's was punctual, efficient, and professional. The kitchen wallpaper needed to be floated and painted over. L&J's had the best estimate by far! I was so happy with the work they were doing on the kitchen walls that I asked them to do more work for the kitchen ceiling (sheetrock replacement and painting), as well as doing the same thing for an upstairs bathroom. L&J's was very flexible and accommodating given the last minute changes I was having them do. When they say, "we work around your schedule", they truly mean it! Every day the guy(s) left the work area clean! Not very many contractors will go that extra step. They were careful at handling everything as if it was their own stuff. Best of all, I didn't have to call them several times to ask them what the progress was; L&J's were proactive in letting me know what was going on each step of the way. No surprises! I have absolutely no regrets having them in my home, because they did such a stellar job. I look forward to recommending them to other people's painting needs!

They are not the cheapest however working with Manuel and his team is as pleasant an experience as having your house painted can be. The team were always very courteous, responsive and professional and we are happy with their work. They completed the job on budget and on time. A couple of the repaired cracks quickly returned and Manuel has undertaken to have another go at them as soon as I can arrange the time. All in all very happy.

The moment I met Manuel I knew he was going to do an excellent job. My home had just undergone major Foundation repair so I had lots of cracks in the sheetrock. We also had alot of water damage from IKE. He knew exactly what to do. His crew was very neat and tidy for such a big job. When he was done I did a walk through and everything was perfect. I had another painting crew that was part of a remodel downstairs. Needless to say Manuel will be back next week to repair the mistakes they made. Thanks Manuel! See you next week.

I contacted them through Angie's List. Manuel called back the same day and made an app't to come the following day. I showed him what all needed to be done. He went over it again with me and explained how they would do the work. His quote arrived thru email exactly when he said that it would. I had additional questions, and they were answered promptly. When they started the job, they showed up on time and worked diligently every day. At the end of every day, they would go thru what had been done that day and what the plan was for the following day. They also encouraged us to look at the work and bring any issues to them the following day. They were also good at moving furniture out of the way or into another room as to not get paint on it. I wish that they would have covered my upholstered furniture (or suggested that I do it), because there was a lot of dust. The only reason that we did not give them an excellent rating on work is that there were some small paint spots left on tile that they had missed, but said that they would come back and get it up. L & J did a great job, and I plan on hiring them again in the future.
