Our experience with them has been pleasant so far. They seem knowledgeable. They do the work and if they don t do it right, they come back out and do it again.

We chose John Moore over other Austin area companies for the installation of our on demand water heater because their ads cited that they had won awards for oustanding service from a buisness rating company for many consecutive years. It turns out that they are actually a Houston-based company just starting out in Austin this year and have definitely not gotten their Austin service up to speed. The plumber they sent to install the heater did poor quality work and had to come back to the house several times before the water heater passed inspection. He also did not install and may have actually lost an important sleave that was supposed to go over the vent, So, rain water started to come into our garage every time it rained. Instead of installing the correct part when we called him back for this he slopped tar all over the outside of the vent. Generally contractors in Austin are familiar with all of the energy and gas rebate programs and submit the applications for you. John Moore was totally unaware of the rebate program for on demand water heaters.

I thought the pricing was very reasonable. It saved me from a lot of damage to my wood floors. They also came on a Sunday afternoon. They were prompt, professional, courteous, and very pleasant. He was very calm and answered all of my questions.

Andrew arrived on time and performed the work with professionalism and without incident. I had a lot of work so it took some time. This was most acceptable to me as I expect quality work.

He was able to quickly replace it. He was able to show me prices in a book he had. He also advised me on some other projects I had in mind. I was happy with the job he did and I will use him again.

The representative showed up 1.5 hours late. He briefly looked at my old heater, located in a garage closet, then proceeded to write up two estimates, one to simply to replace the unit with a new 40 gallon heater, the other for a new tank-less unit. He did not take any measurements or look at any other part of my house. He did not specify what equipment was to be purchased and installed, even after I requested itemization of the estimate. No equipment costs nor labor costs were itemized. He merely listed "40 gallon gas reg. $1212" and "tank-less $3550" as the equipment, and $700 for "gas line" and "15 feet of vent", plus another $15 which was not identified. He also listed "permit $119", which I didn't know was a valid charge on the replacement of an existing unit. To cap off the event, even though their phone book ad said "Free estimates", he asked for a $15.00 "fuel charge".

I had used them before, but not kept records of their charges. They are very polite, very nice. I would use them again if the price is right.

To begin with, to meet code, new drains for the Tand P valve and pan had to be installed. The originals were and code requires . I am sure the plumber s objective was good but his technical and pipe installation skills left a lot to be desired. He ran the two PVC pipes out of the second story soffit, across the lower story roof, and down the side of the chimney. Running pipe across the roof does not meet code. He also left the attic insulation off these pipes so that the inspector could see them. We live in unincorporated Harris County. While the installation must meet code, there are no inspectors. We tried to tell him but he was the plumbing expert and authority. At our request, the supervisor came out and was in complete agreement with us. Another plumber (at first he asked us if he could send out the previous plumber!!!) tore out the two drain lines and rerouted them in a manner that manifested his skill. However, the attic insulation is still askew. The holes where the drain pipes were removed were sealed with duct tape. I could have done that. There is no sealant around where the rerouted drain pipes exit the attic. We forgot to give the first plumber our $30 coupon. The supervisor said that he would honor it, submit it to the office, and a check would be sent to us in two weeks. Well it has been over four weeks and no check. After calling the office, they said that they would get with the supervisor and work the issue. Nothing has happened and I am not wasting my time and energy over $30. Instead, I will focus my time and energy on this report.

We called John Moore Plumbing. They told us they would be there between 2-5 that afternoon. They called at 3 to confirm I was home and then the repairman showed up around 3:45 pm. He looked at everything we had done and noticed a few other issues that needed to be fixed as well. He showed me the repair cost in his book and even went over everything he was going to fix with my husband over the phone. He had me sign off on the work and the estimate before he started. It took about 1 1/2 hours but he got everything fixed and made several improvements.

Extremely well. They were prompt, efficient, clean, polite, and professional.

They were scheduled to arrive 8-11am. They showed up at 12:45, despite telling us they were "next on the list" earlier that morning. They were only able to fix one of the two problems. The plumber was borderline rude and condescending. Furthermore, the $15 fuel charge was exorbitant. A better name for the company would be "John Less" instead of "John Moore." We will not be using them and will be dissuading any friends/neighbors accordingly.

He is just fantastic. He went and bought the faucet for me. He was kind and very understanding. He cleaned up after himself and was courteous and friendly. I can't say enough good things about him.

They were prompt and did a great job. I was happy with the service

After being told by various technicians over the last 10 years that our breaker box was not good and really needed to be replaced, we finally did it. The technician (Thomas) gave me an estimate on a previous job and explained what needed to be done. He showed up right on time, was pretty close on his guess on how long it would take (3-4 hours). And took away all his trash.

Did not inform us of $10 fuel charge to come to home. Part not available from manufacturer to fix leaky faucet. Price to replace faucet kept changing (increasing). Price to replace toilet increased AFTER the original toilet had been taken up.

Had a rough time getting the estimate and scheduling the work while I was on the road. I returned a phone call one week and they told me that if I had scheduled the work the prior week they would have given me a big discount (but not the next week of course). They tried to sell me a larger unit than necessary. After that was figured out, the guys came to install the major machinery on Saturday. They arrived an hour late. Then the second team came on Sunday about 1 1/2 hours late to install the new duct work. They left a little bit of a mess in the different rooms when installing the ductwork, but overall the work is fine. Provided a better warranty than other companies.

Team arrived on time. Blew insulation, and installed a zipper above the attic door which was nice.

Same day service. Dispatcher called when late arrival was anticipated. Plumber was very professional and friendly. He explained different options for a/c overflow issue. Bathtub drain was snaked and a low cost solution was provided to dripping overflow until ready for permanent (behind the wall) solution. The plumber kept the work area clean.

The work was done well and I cannot say there were any problems, after the work was completed.

The shower call was a bit of an emergency for us and he said he would be there that day and he arrived even earlier, than he had said. He was a very nice man and got the water shut off and everything repaired the same day, even the faucets I decided I wanted, as long as, he was here.

This company did repair the toilet, but we were very unhappy that they damaged our property. We found them to be unresponsive to our complaints. However, they finally did cut $50 off of the price.

Every time I have used this company they have showed up on time. They are always professional and very nice. I dont find that their rates are the cheapest, but they are definitely worth the money.

John Moore comes when he says he will. He was very honest and helpful by telling me he had a coupon in the phone book. His prices are reasonable because others wanted three times what he charged.

This contractor was not honest with me and I feel he tried to take advantage of me because I am a woman alone here. I called another contractor who offered a repair instead at a savings of nearly 3,000 dollars.

Serviceman showed up on time, gave non-itemized estimate. Seemed very high but I didn't understand the scope of the job. It turned out to be a simple Rand R, so the $650 cost is excessive.
