They convinced us we needed our duct work removed in order to receive cooler air. 6000.00 worth of work. Called them back today July 26th 2022 still hot in front of house. Cone to find out our unit needed Cleaning and only cost 244.00 House cooling now. Please don't trust John Moore. If you do, only let Mr. James Robinson who works for John Moore. He is the only one who finally told us the truth about what was the problem. I am on my way to the cooperate office tomorrow. One year ago, a worker from John Moore put a shoved his foot in our ceiling. Been begging them to repair it. I am submitting a picture of that. Still waiting on that repair.

Awful! My AC stopped working in the middle of a heat wave, so I called for emergency service, but the soonest appointment available was 2 days later. Technician was impolite and unprofessional and resisted going on my roof to view my AC unit, although I had told John Moore that unit was on my 2nd story roof when I called for service. A knowledgeable relative had checked the unit when it first stopped working and said the capacitor had seized up. The John Moore technician quoted $1000 to fix, before actually seeing the unit. After he did go up on the roof, he came down in about 15 minutes and said it was actually the fan blower, which would cost $2000 to fix (even though all parts of the AC unit were still under warranty). He said he would have to contact the manufacturer before he could fix it and he could not commit to a future service date but would be at least a week. The next day I found a smaller company, Goode Mechanical, that came out in less than 3 hours, diagnosed that the issue was indeed the capacitor, fixed it in less than an hour and the cost was literally a fraction of what John Moore quoted. The only positive I can say is that the customer service staff that answer the phones are quite nice and polite.

I called 3 times a day trying to get someone to come out and clean the mess they left in my attic. I was told they would have someone get in touch with me and I’m still waiting. The guys while in my attic caused a leak going down into my kitchen. I had to put a pan under to catch water. I called and was told they no plumbers available. I had to call my plumber to come fix the leak. Your plumber came the next day and he even said that my attic was never cleaned up by your air conditioner Men. I paid cash for your work because I thought your company was very professional but I guess I was wrong. I had to someone to fix the ceiling in my kitchen from the water damage. I will never recommend your company to anyone because you don’t stand behind your work. My name is Rosemary Wishnow Wish4@sbcglobal.net

They quoted me a price of $5500. Another licensed HVAC completed the same worknwith the same parts for $900. Vastly overpriced. Note: 3 other HVAC companies quited me $900 to $1200 also. You must shop around to get fair prices.

A little over a year ago I had John Moore Company do an AC check on my working AC. They said the coil was faulty and would for sure break in 1-2 years. As I work in this space to have AC down is loss of income for me— so at their recommendation I replaced the coil for about 4500. Then the coil THEY put in broke a little over a year since they installed it (the previous one was working 8 years after installation). Now the company wants to charge 1800 to replace the coil THEY put in about a year ago!! In addition I have no AC. I was already worried about this company because when they came last year to unclog a toilet— they did not use a tool big enough and so had to return with a bigger tool—BUT CHARGED for both visits. Is this a company you want to trust?

Do not use! Overpriced and overcharge - where to start. Had a slab leak, they came out and I was dumb accepting their quote without an invoice. As I called and told them, I'll pay what I agree but I will never use them again. First a consultation comes out and is not a plumber. (Couldn't even find my leak and tried to talk a 1200 dollar toilet). Consultation gives a quote does not give you an itemized list. 8k for a new main and drywall. Less than 40 ft and the drywall is due to them cutting . Work starts - did not show up to dig the day they said. Did not call till I called them. They did the work but pipe the hot and cold backwards (toilets were hot) They finally did my drywall but they don't do paint and texture for the price they give me. 4 days at home. I finally had to call and asked for an invoice since it has been a month. They charged me 546 for limited access attic. Funny just had a water heater and furnace replaced last year by two other companies and they didn't have that charge. Than they charged me 1100 dollars for 4 squares of 1.5 x 1 ft of drywall. What a rip off. No wonder they don't send an invoice. As I explained to them in the phone, if I knew that the drywall was separate I would never had it done by them (I have other drywall from the leak, total will be like 400). The workers are nice and I feel sorry for them. Even the call center. Again never use. You can find plumbers and drywall much cheaper. I don't even want to discuss the expensive quote they give me to put flooring down. I'm the sucker that was born. Don't be me and pay way too much. (Dry wall picture attached )

I needed to have a very small piece of siding (hardiplank) and one vent pipe seal (not the pipe, just the seal) replaced on my house. I called John Moore to do the work. When they priced out the work I thought it was high, so I questioned them about it. They made it sound like a team of guys would come out and need to pull up some roofing, add flashing and moisture barrier and then the siding (one piece about 3 feet long). Turns out they didn't need to do nearly as much work. One guy came to the house and was done in two hours.......for that, I was charged ~$2,000.00. You read that correctly, ~$1,000.00 per hour to replace a single piece of siding. They did an adequate job, but $1,000.00 per hour is outrageous. I spoke with them several time to try and get a more reasonable price and they would not budge. I will NEVER use them again and I recommend, if you like your hard earned money, you don't either.

I was hearing dripping above my ceiling and my overflow drain on the side of my house was leaking. I called John Moore. The representative looked at everything and told me 1. I needed to get my ceiling cut out in my bathroom to get into the attic that way. 2. I needed to get my entire AC unit cleaned ($443). 3. I needed to get an inspection. 4. I needed a water medication team because I have a "a lot" of water damage. I knew this wasnt true because I had just had a 28 point inspection. The inspector from John Moore came through later that day. When I told him the issues I was having, he gave me an entire different solution BEFORE he looked at ANYTHING. All he did was walk through the door and diagnosed my problem from the door. He told me my main drain needed to he cleaned ($450, plus $70 for the inspection). I politely saw him out. I called a local, family owned plumbing company. They came the next day, unclogged my main drain, re-situated my pipe so the water would drain down. They also confirmed that I did not have any water damage. I dripping I was hearing has stopped, and so has the leak on the side of my house. I paid $75. Had I listened to John Moore reps, I would he out of over $1000, plus what ever the "water mediation team" would have charged. These folks may provide good service, but I believe, at least in my case, that they provide unnecessary services. I cant wrap my kind around how a man can come into a single womans home and actively move forward to deceive her and take money from her that she doesnt need to spend. It's disgusting.

Tonight I had the pleasure to meet the family who runs John Moore Services at a local restaurant! I knew I recognized you all, particularly the CEO of John Moore Services. A local commercial celebrity, if you will. What a stellar representative you all are for your brand. I’ve been lucky enough to watch the way you’ve snobbishly treated employees here for years, and tonight we finally got a chance to speak. As a fellow business owner, shame on you all for making a peer feel guilty for abiding by the city ordinance and masking policies for businesses. When I reminded you after your outburst that because you had to walk by our table you would indeed need to begrudgingly put on your mask, you called me a “scared, scared little person.” You’re right, Hannah (the COO, nonetheless). I am scared. I am scared of a virus that claims perfectly healthy individuals, I am scared of a virus that is over running our hospital systems in which I have the pleasure to work, and I am scared of people like you who cannot be inconvenienced for a mere thirty seconds by putting a piece of cloth over your face to protect your fellow citizens. Your fellow citizens, as your website claims, you care so deeply about. As a company that claims to have taken preventive measures in response to COVID-19 and enters people’s homes on a daily basis, I will be taking action to make sure that everyone in the community knows how the executive leadership truly feels. How can we be assured you are practicing what you claim? After your behavior this evening, I can only infer that your words on your website are meaningless and you do not truly care about the safety of the customers who patronize your business. So, Hannah, I am happy to be “what’s wrong with America” if it means standing up to walking, dangerous ignorance such as you and your family. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but disease nor death discriminate between you in your castle on the hill and us plebeians below. How fortunate you are to have not been affected by this virus yet. Also, guess what? You could forego your weekly margaritas if masking is that much of a problem for you. I am so pleased that your family assumed leadership over an established and respectable company, as I cannot imagine under your vitriolic ways this company would have otherwise prospered. I pray that you and your family can find empathy and understanding for the rest of the world in this hard time.

Honestly this has been by far the worst experience I have encountered. Me and my husband after reviewing a couple of companies decided to go with John Moore. They ran my credit told me they found me a financing company to which I had first informed them that I was looking for their 6 or 12 month no apr or payments and said they would email me the paper work a few weeks went by and I never received the paperwork. During those weeks I called to ask about the paperwork and still I never received them. The gentleman came to do the work still me having no paperwork and now almost a whole month later finally got the paper work to see that the finance company which they put me through is charging through the roof of interest. The gentleman of financing calls me now to tell me about me not signing the paperwork so I brought it up to him that that was not the financing I had expected to which he said that he told me and his solution was either me paying in full or if I did not want to pay he would just send me to collections. Honestly I am appalled at how rude and unprofessional he was. I have called to place a complaint and have yet to receive a call back. Never again doing business with them !!! & honestly I suggest you to not either. They are not worth all the money they charge just to get disgusting SERVICE!!!

After my tankless waterheater went out, I called for service. The technician stated he could repair it and drain the line for $1100. I paid upfront and I guess this is where they thought my pockets were probably deeper. The next day the technician says he couldn't just repair it. Either he replaced the major components for $7000 or he could give me a brand new unit for $10,000. I told him that I would have my regular plumber come out and put in a standard waterheater. Here's where I lost it. The tech says that you can't put a standard waterheater in the attic because you need 46 inches. We were both standing up in the attic mind you. I AM 5'5 (60 inches) TALL! I told him to get the **** out my house, tally up the bill for draining the line and give me a refund. Guess how much they charge to drain the line? 500!!! Nope! Single mothers/women BEWARE because they will definitely try to take advantage of you.

Not good. NEVER DO BUSINESS with John Moore! My HVAC was installed 8 months ago. The summer A/C worked fine, but when I switched to ‘heat’ in the Fall, I had electric bills around $300, way too much for a small retirement home. Long story short/ the ‘tech’ arrived, examined both inside, outside units, reporting to me that the units are cheap, both had Freon leaks & would continue to fail. JOHN MOORE could, finance, and replace all units, the next morning for $13,000. I paid $6,000 for my units. A friend referred me to a ‘friend’, AC guy, he accessed my units, NO leaks, but a ‘component’ needs to be replaced $500-600. BOTTOM LINE: price gouging a ‘70’ year old ‘senior’ - My 52nd year of work, I currently work 2 p/t jobs - 40 hrs. A week. Such jerks. Oh, they wanted a good review.

John Moore deceived and overcharged me. I contacted John Moore to replace the galvanized pipes in my home. Rey Gutierrez, a John Moore Project Manager (PM) arrived and as we were discussing the cost, another fellow arrived. I assumed the fellow was also from John Moore, but I have since learned it was another company that I knew nothing about. They brought industrial sized equipment to my home and have tried to charge me as if I requested their services. I believed everything done to repair my home was part of my contract with John Moore. I will NEVER contact John Moore ever again and will tell all of my friends and family about their crooked practices. They should not be allowed to manipulate consumers and get away with it.

Had an A/C unit installed in 2014 and struggled to keep the motorized dampers working ever since. When the dampers don't open when they are supposed to, the air plenum over-pressurizes and comes apart at the seams, blowing cool air into my attic instead of the house. I have had service techs out multiple times since installation but they have only repaired the symptom and not the problem. Now, John Moore wants over $3000 to replace the faulty dampers since the "lifetime" warranty on material expired after 1-year. I would rate the service techs as top notch for customer service and promptness. But do not purchase anything if you are expecting John Moore to honor or warrant their work.
