Description of Work: Replaced a broken sly light. I am very pleased with their service. They showed up when promised to see what needed to be done, got me an immediate quote, and installed the new skylight when promised. That is very unusual for getting work done in this city. I would use them again without any reservations.

Description of Work: T hese guys are lame and it appears they have way too much work for their process system too manage. Called them and set an appt for 9-7-12 to inspect a cracked skylight on the 3rd floor of my townhouse. Took a 1/2 day off of work today as they were to be here between 2 & 4. At 3:45 I called them and asked for status...Answer...Didn't you get our voice mail on your phone? Nope...did not and I checked my phone and VM - no call record, no VM record. They never made the call. I then asked when can you get back out here? The answer was we are busy and the soonest we can get out is 9-27-12 plus we want to bill $100 for coming out it's going to take two guys as it's on the 3rd floor... Nice customer service, m*** an appt.,then try and up charge for a deal you screwed up. They just told me in very impolite terms they do not want the work. Women I was talking to at the company had no concept of customer service, no training and a marginal attitude. Excuse was we are busy and have trade shows to go to. This sucked all the way around. If this is the best Angie's can offer, blow Angie off and her vendors. Beginning to think this whole thing is a rip off! As usual the only on being taken care of is Angie.

+ -1 moreThe owner supervised the job. Great work. We had a small leak after hurricane Ike and they came out right away. No damage from the leak fortunately. The leak turned out to be a problem with shingles not related to the windows but they fixed it right away.

+ -1 moreVery well. I take a few points off for confusion on the appointment time. We set up an appointment and then the day before Innovative called to cancel/reschedule due to forecast rain. The rain did not come so Innovative showed up at the original time. It would have been better if they had given me more notice that they were coming at the original time. Other than that I have no complaints and would use this service again.

+ -1 moreExcellent. They were there on the scheduled day and were able to replace the skylights without us being there. The difference it made is phenomenal. Prior to the installation, you could feel the heat when the sun was shining on the skylight. Now we have a nice bright white light coming through but no heat. We expect it to make a significant difference in our comfort. In addition, they replaced the seals around all of the pipes that exit through the roof.
Description of Work: Replaced two skylights. Our home had two skylights with "green bubble" domes. They were replaced with two Velux skylights. While Dan Marshall was doing the estimate, he made us aware of the deterioration of the flashing and seals around all of our pipes. They apparently had not been replaced, as would be the norm, when our roof was replaced a few years ago.

+ 0 moreHe also does skylights. No electricity is used, so it saves on my electric bill. His workers are very efficient, well mannered and did an excellent job. He is very pleasant to deal with. He is very easy to get along with. He is very knowledgeable about his product.
Description of Work: I used Dan Marshall to put in a solar tube in my kitchen. It reflects colors on my floor. He calls them sun tunnels. He has installed 3 of them and I can see at night because of the reflection.

+ -1 moreThe sun tunnels went in quickly, with only a couple of undetected electrical cables in the attic that had to be cut and re-routed (not part of Innovative's work). The skylight took a lot longer to install than expected, due to poor quality sheetrock work by the first Innovative subcontractor. A second contractor did much better work, but the edges of sheetrock were still not straight to the eye. Innovative framed the ceiling opening to flare out inside the house, so the light would spread over a larger area. Apparently this installation was the first like this they had done, and the sheetrock angles became difficult to get right. Finally we installed a thin strip of molding around the edges to cover the irregularities. The finished product looks good, and the additional light is worth the effort. Dan Marshall is great to work with - he never quit trying to make the installation right. He is conscientious and let us know what was happening with the job all the way through. We were upset that the skylight took so long, but the end product turned out well. Ann Hays in the Innovative office was very helpful and great to deal with.
Description of Work: Installed five sun tunnels and one 44" x 46" skylight.

+ -1 moreSucked. What a waste of money. I have two bedrooms with northern exposure that each have good windows, but are fairly dark, even in the middle of the day. After consulting with the owner on site at my house and speaking to another office person I was reassured that their "sun tunnels" would provide ample light to these rooms. BAH! I might as well have just tossed a thousand dollars out the front door. I'm a single mom and cannot afford to be frivolous with my money. One of the rooms is my son's and I wanted him to have better light. They placed the sun tunnel within a few feet of one end of the long side of the room and it does not lighten the room barely at all. It is not placed well at all. I called the owner who came over to inspect after I voiced my concerns and other than suggesting installing ANOTHER sun tunnel at my expense he offered no solution. ADVICE: If you want more light add a window or a real skylight... don't waste your money on sun tunnels.
Description of Work: Installed 2 sun tunnel (tube) skylights, one in each northern facing bedrooms.

When I called to order the lights they were so busy I was going to have to wait a few weeks. They got a cancellation and called me right away, so that the lights were installed within a few days. I am very pleased.

+ -1 moreI was very pleased with the entire process. Dan had a product book, reviewed what was needed, described what needed to be done and kept in contact based on the weather. Work was done according to quote. Very professional company and workmanship. (Innovative was not my lowest bid but is the one that I felt comfortable doing business with. Let's face it, two large holes are in my roof so I wanted to deal with someone who knows what they are doing and using proven materials and craftsmanship so that the result is leak free!)
Description of Work: Company removed 2 existing skylights that were extremely old and replaced with Velux double pane skylights with interior shade that can be raised and lowered.

+ -1 moreDan was careful in measuring (he came out twice) and in determining what needed replacing without spending money needlessly. Order to install was two weeks. This was a difficult installation on a steep pitch roof, and the replacement skylights are very heavy. Dan and his crew were careful, and followed up to ensure satisfaction and no leaks. I am picky about contractor work, and I recommend them highly. The reason I rate price a B is because these materials are not inexpensive, though I believe reasonable given the quality.
Description of Work: Replacement of four fixed curb mounted skylights each measuring 4ft x 4ft, and one measuring 2ft x 2ft. Removed bubble-type plastic skylights, installed Velux double pane laminated glass skylights.
