I just paid their $45 dispatch fee but did not use them. He quoted me a price of $750 for labor and said I have to order and pay for arts. I said " which parts do I order?" He said he didn't know. Ha,! What a joke! I called Abacus and a guy came out and took the tub hot water stem and fitting off and I went to home Depot while he waited in his van at my house. I returned with parts$20 is all they cost) he installed the part and only charged me $144 total.. I should of called Abacus in the first place. Hugo can go go😃

I usually do not write reviews but I feel compelled to do so this time to advise others looking for an honest and professional company. When I called Hugo plumbing and explained to Rose that I had a slow leak that was showing through my garage ceiling she informed me that it is $120 for a leak detection and that if I decided to move forward with the repair the $120 would be deducted off the price of the repair. I had done plumbing on C9B aircraft while serving in the Navy so I am well aware of how easy this job is to repair. Due to my work schedule it was easier to try to have someone else fix it real quick. The plumbers showed up the next day. They removed a piece of ceiling and observed a slow drip from the pipe that was behind the piece of ceiling they had removed. They called the office to get an estimate of what it would be to repair it and then informed my wife ( I was at work at this time) that it would be $80 to put on a clamp! (the clamp is only $5 dollar from home depot and literally takes less than a minute to put on) or $400 to replace the 5ft section of pipe with PEX! (PEX is only $2 per foot at home depot and the job would take less than an hr!) They also told my wife that the $120 would not be deducted off the price of the repair. My wife informed me and I then called the office and spoke with Monica. I informed her what I had been told yesterday about the $120 being deducted off the price of the repair and she stated that I was given the wrong information and that technically I should have been charged more for the leak detection since I am outside their service area because I live in Cypress but that they are giving me a break. I told her that I was literally only 12 min away from their office! I asked her how 12 minutes is beyond someone's service area? She could not respond. I also asked her how they could be engaged in the unethical practice of price gouging and justify charging $80 for a $5 clamp that takes less than 1 minute to put on! or $400 that a 5ft section of PEX pipe that only cost $2 per foot and less than one hour worth of labor?! I told her that the hourly rate for plumbers is between 100-150 and why were they charging $400 per hour? I informed her that price gouging is illegal and that I would be reporting this to the State Attorney General's office. She said "it's because of supply chain issues" I told her that was a lie because home depot literally has tons of PEX pipe and clamps on the shelves! She started to panic and informed me that she is not the one who gives estimates but the owner and please speak to him. I told her that I want to speak to the owner and ask him the same questions and hear him attempt to justify his attempt to take advantage of a customer who he thought would not be informed as I was of plumbers who engage in price gouging. I informed her that I have questions regarding the leak detection fee and would pay the $120 once I spoke with the owner. He has yet to call. Do not use this company. Find a plumber who gives free estimates, charges by the hr, and itemizes parts and labor on the invoice. This is how you avoid companies who price gouge and try to take advantage of people who aren't aware of the true cost of parts and the time it actually takes to complete a repair.

Very disappointed in the service this company offered, as well as their customer service. I had a technician come out from this company back in April to fix a clogged sink in the kitchen. I purchased a home to flip earlier this year, and the line was clogged when I purchased it. I replaced the sink and garbage disposal myself, however I could not get to the clog farther in the line on my own, so I called Hugo Plumbing. The technician came out quickly after I called and let himself in. The house is vacant so I gave them the code to get in themselves so I didn't have to be there since we have all this going on with COVID-19. He called me after a while of inspecting what was going on, and told me he found a leak at one of the strainer baskets and that he found that the sink had been plumbed incorrectly with a T fitting being used rather than a Y fitting. This made it more difficult for him to unclog the line he said, but not impossible. I told him to go ahead and fix everything but the leak at the strainer basket as that's easily done by myself. I guess he took that to mean that he should only unclog the line rather than actually fix the fitting he said was incorrectly installed. An unclogged line cost me $220, however I thought they also fixed the fitting so I didn't balk at the price. Well, fast forward to this week when I called them back because the sink is draining a little better, but still very slowly. Remember, the house is vacant so I hadn't noticed this until an inspector came out during an option period we were in with a buyer. The inspector said that the line drains slowly and it may be clogged still. I called Hugo Plumbing yesterday and asked that they come back out and check that it's not still clogged. The lady on the phone told me that she would have to let me know tomorrow morning first thing what their schedule looked like and that she would need to talk to the technician who came out to unclog the line in the first place. I told her that would be fine and we hung up. I waited for a call this morning and didn't hear from her, so I called at 10:30am. She told me she'd been very busy this morning and hadn't had time to call me. She said she did talk to her boss and the technician both though, and they said that since no one was living in the house that they thought it wasn't clogged, and they wanted me to have the line snaked with a camera ($220 more just to SEE what the line looks like...that doesn't include what they would charge to "fix" any issues they found). I told her I didn't want to pay more money to do that because they never fixed the issue they claimed to in the first place, and that I would call someone else. I am really disappointed that they would rather up charge me for more unnecessary services rather than just fix the issue I already apparently overpaid to have done. I would avoid calling these people if at all possible. Judging by other reviews you are more likely than not to regret choosing to use them. *UPDATE* 5/21/20 Someone from Hugo Plumbing reached out to me via text to send coupons (I don't think it was after seeing this review...I think they were just sending out coupons to everyone), and I told them to remove me from their marketing list because I'd never be using them again. They asked why, and I explained. The person said they would be upset too, and would talk to their manager in the morning about getting me a refund and they'd call me the next day. I waited and received no call, but did get a text the next evening saying they "couldn't" warranty the work because my house was under construction according to the technician (it wasn't) and they couldn't be sure another contractor clogged the sink again. Wow. If thats the case then house could they EVER warranty any work done?! I asked under what circumstances they DO warranty work and never really got an answer. I'll attach the texts to this review for you all to see for yourselves. DO NOT waste your time and money on these people. They will look for ANY reason, and even make up ridiculous ones themselves, to avoid taking responsibility for shoddy or simply incomplete jobs.
