We brought a pair of shoes back to the Houston Shoe Hospital on the morning of 4/26/22, telling the employee that the shoe they had said they had repaired had, in fact, not been fixed. The employee argued with us and called my wife a liar 3 times, trying to pawn the bad repair job off on the manufacturer. He even tried to pin the break in the heel on my wife by asking her repeatedly if she had worn them since the repair, insinuating that one wearing could break the job that they did. What kind of store does that? It seems to me that they do not have a good deal of confidence in their work. At the same time, realizing that the store was at fault, he pretended that he would give us a no-charge but he never did. We paid for a repair job that went bad and all we got for our trouble to bring it back, was an employee who kept calling my wife a liar to her face. We asked for our money back and he refused us. I told him on the way out that I would be blogging the store and he told me that I was just one unhappy customer and it wouldn't matter anyway. I had recommended the store to my wife because at one point, Houston Shoe Hospital had integrity but I see now (and my readers will see) that no integrity remains in this business. One bad employee can sour the whole business, as this review indicates.

Very pleased. Both the person with whom I dropped off the shoes and the one from whom I picked them up did a particularly nice job of explaining what was needed, including checking to confirm no other work was currently required, and providing some information beyond the specific job to be done this time, all of which I found very helpful. The shoes were ready as promised, the work was done well, and I am a satisfied customer. (You show the provider's location as 675 Dairy Ashford, Houston, TX 77079. I have previously been there, and also been satisfied. However, please note that the service described/evaluated above was done at a different Houston Shoe Hospital location — 3303 Highway 6 South, Sugar Land, TX 77478 — and this review should be associated with that shop, please.)
Description of Work: Replaced the laces in a pair of Sperry Topsider shoes — sounds funny, but the task requires a special tool.

Not only was my item not repaired, the shop had ripped out all the stitching on the other side, so it was now twice the problem as when I brought it in. The only reply was "Sorry". In my opinion, "sorry" describes my experience there.
Description of Work: I took a leather seat with stitching on two sides, one of which was torn and asked if they could fix it. They assured me that they could, and that it would be ready in a week. At the end of the week, they said they had sent it in to their main shop, and were looking at it there, and said it would be ready in two days. At the end of two days, I went to pick it up.

I avoided taking my bag in for repair because I use it nearly every day and was expecting to be without it for a week or more. To my surprise, it was ready just two days later, and it looked great. Service was friendly and the shop is very clean and well-stocked with leather/shoe care products. I will definitely be back for other repairs.
Description of Work: Repaired stitching on a leather handbag.
