Did a great job all around.

estimate part was not good

I cannot say enough good things about this contractor. I had just had a 5000 sq. ft. concrete driveway poured by a different contractor days earlier but I made the mistake of cutting back on the width of my circular driveway to save money. So after a lot of deliberation I decided to bite the bullet and add a section of concrete (crescent moon-shape) to what had just been poured. I did not want to call back the original contractor because they did a sloppy job and did not clean up when they were through. The extra amount that I wanted done was only about 400 sq. ft.so it was a very small job. I called around and was turned down by another contractor who had done a good job on my neighbor's driveway. So I turned to Angie's List (which I should have done in the first place) and found Houston Hardscapes. I called and spoke to the owner Mark Reyna. I explained my predicament to him and I sensed that he wasn't really interested but at the same time did not want to turn me down. He agreed to come and see the job a couple of days later, we met at the house and I had a good feeling about him immediately. He gave me a quote that I thought was reasonable for what I was asking him to do and I ordered the job. Knowing how I felt about the first contractor he assured me that the clean-up would be good. After the forms were in place he asked me to sign-off on them and then did the job. I was very pleased with the results. The concrete forms were perfectly curved and the slope matched the existing. He voluntarily ran a pvc pipe extension to what was already there for future electrical needs, and the picture frame outline and brushmarks were made to match perfectly with the first pour. Lastly, he cleaned up very thoroughly and you couldn't tell he had been there. Mark is friendly, soft-spoken and professional. I recommend him highly and wish so badly that he had done the job in the first instance.

Houston Hardscape did an excellent job. Mark Reyna, the owner, was timely with his quote, and responses for additional clarifications. They started on time, and completed the job on time. They were professional, safe, and kept the site clean and organized throughout the work. Mark did a great job of explaining what was needed and why, and he personally showed up to attend to a few details we requested after his team has finished and cleared out. The driveway and brick walkway look great. I would recommend Houston Hardscape to anyone, and will definitely contact them first whenever I need similar work done in the future.

I thought things went very well. A few weather delays which slowed down the project but otherwise things moved on schedule. The job was more difficult due to the amount of tree roots that needed to be removed. The crews worked hard to get the correct slope so water would drain to the street. I am very happy with the new driveway.

Responded quickly to my initial inquiry for an estimate. Arrived to perform the work exactly as planned and finished within the expected time frame. Tidied up thoroughly.

Mark was able to come by the day after I gave him the job to pull the city permit. He began demolition as soon as city gave him the go-ahead. He was at the job site just about the entire time, working alongside his crew. They showed up on time each morning, worked the whole day and cleaned up and hauled away waste at the end of each day. The lost no time in getting the work complete. Mark always made time to answer my questions. They were very efficient, professional and did great work. Definitely would hire them again in the future.

We were very pleased. The owner kept in touch with us about the start date numerous times (even during Hurricane Ike). Mark Reyna was very responsive and very professional. He also had some artistic suggestions which are nice when looking at a large concrete area. They finished the job in about 5-6 days, again as they predicted. Clean-up was fine. I would strongly recommend this company.

They were very neat and efficient. On Tuesday they removed old concrete. On Wednesday then set up the framing and installed the reinforcing steel. On Thursday they poured the new concrete On Friday they remove the forms and cleaned up neatly.
