 + -1 moreRealtor recommended this handyman, when I checked on Angie's list and saw positive reviews I knew I found the right person. Only problem, I called and left messages on 3 separate occasion's over the course of a couple of weeks unfortunately I didn't receive a call back. I certainly understand not being interested in doing the work, but could of responded with a call saying thanks, but no thanks.
Description of Work: Add door to attic in order to access attic from second floor, plywood decking in attic for storage.

 + -1 moreGary did good work, came about 9:30 AM and stayed until everything was finished, about 9:30 PM. This was in December, and repair people were overwhelmed with Harvey repairs, so it took a few weeks to schedule the work.
Description of Work: A series of small jobs, such as installing a ceiling fan, several new switches, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, grout repair, etc.

 + -1 moreHouston Handy Man 713.494-9107 We used him for general repairs for our 5 unit condo group. We had Mal from Houston Handy Man give us bids on three services we wanted done. On two of them he did a bait and switch. He was given detail instructions on what work we wanted done. Part of why we choose Houston Handy Man was his price. When he started work he said he could not do it for the price he quoted. We mistakenly allowed him to change the work order. Then on another project he said he only meant to power wash one of five driveways for the price when it stated in the text that five driveways were to be done. We will not recommend him for any work at our property.

 + 0 moreOverall we'll. but was a little disappointed because I had him go out and look at the work in order to get an accurate estimate and on the day the work was to be done he informed me it would be more due to work he didn't realize had to be done. Next time I will make sure he gives me a more accurate estimate. Had to ask for an invoice and it was very general. I will give Mal another try when needed. He is very nice on the phone as I never met him. Work was performed on an income property. Also punctual and calls before heading to the job site.
Description of Work: Remove gutters and rotten facia boards and replaced with new and painted.

 + -1 moreThe technicians both arrived promptly and were very professional. The carpenter said he could not repair the windows, our painter has now been contracted to do the repair. The electrician could not locate a power source for one of the closet light fixtures and said we would need to hire a sheet rock person in addition to himself. He also estimated his portion of the job at 50% more than T&K Electric charged to complete the entire job.
Description of Work: Mary was very professional and prompt in her responses. Unfortunately, neither of the technicians she sent out (one electrician and one carpenter) were capable of completing the work we needed done. The jobs were to install 2 light fixtures in 2 different closets that would come on when the door was opened and to repair wood damage on some exterior windows.

 + 0 more100% satisfied! Showed up on time, did exactly what we agreed upon PLUS a little more that we were not billed for. I have absolutely no reservations about using Houston Handyman again or referring him to someone else!
Description of Work: Replaced 2 toilets and a kitchen faucet and guest bathroom shower fixture. Also replaced tiles in guest bathroom. Absolutely, completely 100% pleased with the job(s) that were all done professionally well and in a timely manner.

 + -1 moreThey simply dismissed my request for service saying they couldn't make the adjustments needed for my closet, nor did they know of any other handymen service companies that do that kind of work. That makes no sense to me. I would have liked an opportunity to have spoken with an individual from the company, but apparently they are too busy to do that.
Description of Work: According the email response to my request, they said they were unable to restructure a clothes closet so that it would accommodate standard size folding doors. The email response took over one week to receive and I left voicemail twice as well as filling out an online service request as suggested on their answering service message. I assume the VERY LATE response is due to them handling a high volume of work, however as a potential customer I was unhappy with the length of time to receive a reply. At the least I felt I should have received a return call to further discuss what I needed to have done before deciding that it couldn't be done at all. I would NOT recommend this company to my friends.
