Ok.. It was just mulch.

I called Peace of Green and James answered and set up an appointment to come by an look at the front yard. He actually called me an hour before our appointment and asked to come by early. It worked out perfect because I was at home. He came out and looked at the work that I was wanting done and said he would come up with a design and would get it to me in around a week. He sent a very nice design layout in just 2 days. After going back and forth on some little tweaking to the design I was ready to set up the appointment. When he came by to give me an estimate he said it would be a week or two to get to the work, but much to my surprise he came out 2 days after we made the final design and got all the work done it just one day. They even cleaned up an area around a different tree that wasn't part of the bid/design. The landscaping looks absolutely amazing. I've already have a complete stranger stop in the middle of the road and tell me how great it looks. I couldn't be happier.

The job went very smoothly. Before finishing the job, the crew made sure our sprinkler system was functioning properly in order to water all the new plants.

They are a very good and reliable company. They do a good job and are punctual. They got the job done as soon as possible and to our satisfaction.

We are thrilled with the results, my backyard looks so much better than I expected. We asked Jim to design a new front walk for us, and he delivered a product that is so elegant, we could not be happier. Jim responded promptly to our request for a bid, explaining all the items in detail to put my mind at ease. The work was started promptly and efficiently, all our questions and concerns were addressed promptly. The crew was professional and very customer service oriented. We are extremely pleased with our landscaping and patio and plan to use Jim and his crew as our yard service in the future.

I heavily rely on Angie's List to find quality contractors to perform various services. I read the glowing reviews of "Peace of Green" and I was not disappointed. James promptly answered the phone and we set up a time for him to come to my home to review my landscaping needs. James has a great personality-informative without being overwhelming. He is easy to be around and wants the customer to be pleased. I was unsure about one of the plant choices and he assured me if I was not happy he would replace it. He and his crew worked hard over the course of two days and did a great job. After the work was done I called James to offer a couple of customer service suggestions. He was not defensive or rude but gladly welcomed what I had to say. I think the price was very reasonable given the amount of work they did, the man hours and the amount of bamboo that needed to be taken to the dump!

I recently purchased an older house Sugar Land. The front plant bed was outdated and the left side yard and backyard were in a horrible state with no grass and no plant beds. More seriously, the back and left side yards flooded after each rain. Following a mid-January, 2012 storm in which my back yard and left side yard were flooded with several inches of water, I had had enough! I researched area landscapers on Angie's List and was impressed by recent positive reviews for Peace of Green Landscaping. I called James Hill at Peace of Green about installing a drainage system and, to my astonishment, he suggested that he should come right out to see the back and side yards while the water was still standing. Within a couple of hours James had reviewed the flooded yards and shortly after I had his estimate for a new drainage system. I was quite pleased with the estimate and James was able to start the project in a timely manner. Working with James and his crew during the drainage system installation was a pleasant, positive experience. I especially liked James' approach to quality and customer service. I found James knowledgeable, helpful, responsive to requests, and able to make changes and modifications on the fly as necessary. He also had one of the hardest working landscaping crews I had ever seen. As a result, I hired James for several additional landscaping projects. I will definitely be calling Peace of Green Landscaping for estimates on any future landscaping needs.

Peace of Green were the only landscapers who responded to the request for quote. They rose to the challenge of the odd scope of work and worked diligently and efficiently. Rain interrupted their planned completion which is perfectly normal. They provided some excellent suggestions during the initial scope refinement which insured success. Overall very satisfied and we will use them for bi-annual maintenance.

We purchased a repo home with lousy landscaping and badly damaged grass, then mangled the yard by installing a pool. Finally, the grubs and drought finished off the lawn for keeps. We officially had the ugliest yard in the neighborhood. James turned it into one of the nicest. James took the time to make sure the lawn was done the way I wanted. He suggested spending an extra couple hundred bucks for Palmetto St Augustine, which is a hardier version of St Augustine. This was a good suggestion, as our lawn is still green at Christmas, whereas neighboring lawns are turning brown. I had planned to install the planter beds and walkway myself, but decided to ask James for an estimate. The price was very reasonable and the work he had done up to that point looked good, so I asked him to just take care of the whole thing. This was a good decision, my wife and I are both very satisfied with the results. We need to dig up the remaining side yard of the house to do some plumbing and utility work. I am going to ask James back to take care of the landscape work when this is done. Thanks.

James got to my house to provide an estimate the day following my calling him and he was there nearly everyday until the job was finished. He did the water garden first, followed by the landscaping around the water garden and then the landscaping in the front of the house. He and his workers are extremely polite and professional. We really like them a lot and will have them back to do more work. The scope of this project is very large and it is to be expected that a problem or two might occur and when it did, James handled it beautifully. He handled it with grace and patience and never did we feel like he was might feel he was spending too much time or effort on our project. We never felt like he was tempted to cut corners. He provided a smile and quality service even during the couple of times when I know he must have been frustrated. He persisted and the job is outstanding. When we approached James with a concern, he received it with a smile, discussed it with us, and then he fixed it immediately. He is extremely easy to work with and trustworthy. We are very pleased we chose Peace of Green and will use them, for sure, with our next landscaping project. Thank you James!

Contacted Arbor Life to obtain estimate to remove and replace landscaping in front of house. He came out, I described what I wanted for replacement landscaping. I even drove him around my own and an adjoining neighborhood to show him the shrubs and plants I liked, as well as the general very clean look I was striving for. He provided me with an estimate without any drawings, renditions, pictures or anything.. I asked him what the plants and shrubs would look like and he said he would use the plants and shrubs that we had selected in our drive-bys... His estimate included a list of names of the plants and shrubs. When I asked for photos or renditions, he mentioned that he did not provide those for such a "small job". He mentioned he would drop a catalog by so I could see what they would look like. I never got the catalog so I went on line, googled and researched on my own... A huge time consuming hassle. But I trusted him that the plants would be as we picked out on the drive bys. He tore out the old landscaping and did not return for over a week. I made several emails and phone calls that were unreturned. I finally reached him and asked why he had not finished the job, to which he replied, he had been busy with other jobs. He finally returned to finish the job and it didn't look like any of the plants I had requested. He assured me they were. When the gutter downspout drain lines were put in, they were uncovered and on top of the mulch and beds. I asked him to provide another estimate to bury them and install a drain to the curb with the installation of a pop-up drain at curb. I never received that estimate, nor did I ever see him again after he was paid in full. They relocated some sprinkler heads in the beds and it was obvious within days that some of the plants were not getting water. He came back out and assured me that they would get enough water and he didn't need to adjust any sprinkler heads. Several of the plants/shrubs (including some of the ones I was concerned were not getting enough water), died within months of installation. Now that it has grown out, the landscaping looks absolutely horrible. Several of the plants/shrubs I requested were not planted, some of them have died, the perennials he planted along the walkway overgrow the walkway to the extreme that one can not even get to the front door of the house. It is definitely NOT the clean look I was trying for and requested. I have given up on him providing an estimate to replace the gutter drains, nor would I allow him to do the work if he provided one. If you want a small job, find someone else... He doesn't have time to work professionally for the small home owner with small landscaping needs... There are better out there. I have since had two other landscapers provide estimates to do this over and each is shocked to learn that it was done by a "professional landscaper" and what I paid for it.....

Contacted James through Angie's List late in the evening and he not only showed up the next day but he and his crew completed most of the work too the very next day. The HOA spent months looking for the right Landscaping crew, but James and his crew were definitely worth the wait. Peace of Green did a such a great job with the clean up of our Property (12 townhomes) that we signed a contract for routine services. After James and his crew left, our neighbors said they were thrilled to find their yard cleaned up and back in order. One of the crew members even added mulch to one of my neighbors collection of potted plants which added that personal touch.

He is friendly and easy to talk to and he understood what I wanted. He made great suggestions too. He does most of the work himself unlike many services that I have used in the past that use inexperienced labor and the person in charge is no where to be found! Also one thing I appreciate is he and his crew always leave everything just the way they found it and take of the trimmings with them...no mess! He now comes to maintains my yard and changes out the flowers each season. He goes way beyond the call of duty. I am very happy with Peace of Green!

Peace of Green is superb! I am so lucky to fine such a wonderful company to take care of my yard. Even after the terrible freeze and all the plants that were damaged, I don't think the yard has gotten such good attention in years! And for such a good price too! I highly recommend Peace of Green. My yard looks spectacular!

We had water entering our guest quarters in our back yard during heavy rains, and contracted with Brian Blalock of Arbor Landscaping & Construction to design and construct a system of drainage to prevent flooding in the future. He verbally guaranteed that the system he designed would prevent flooding "unless we had a hurricane or monsoon". Our guest quarters has flooded 3 times since then, and when we called for help, he denied any responsibility and said he couldn't guarantee anything in a drainage system. Do not trust him to design a drainage system. We had to have it all re-designed and a sump pump installed in to the system he designed. Subsequent licensed drainage contractors have told us that the system is inadequate and doesn't have enough fall to drain the water properly.

TECHNICIANS WERE VERY GOOD. THEY DID NOT TAKE NOTICE OF CRACKING MY BRICKS WHILE DRILLING THEIR HOLES.
