The work looks and seems good except for the failed inspection of rotted Facia that was painted over. I couldnt count on one hand how many times I expected them to show up and received a late phone call informing me they werent going to make it. Now I have been told they are going to come fix it, but still struggling with making and sticking to a date. Right now I'm clueless as to when or if they will fix it. I paid a lot more then expected, because I thought i wasn't going to have issues like this. To top it off my kids still find nails in the yard. I just really feel let down and didn't expect that for the price I paid.

I was very happy with my overall experience with Home Exterior Systems and especially my point of contact, Bart. A substandard job by a prior contractor left me with French doors that leaked moisture into my home and damaged my wood floors. Instead of selling me overly expensive doors, he suggested investing in covering the patio to move water away from the house and fix the issue. After demolishing the existing pergola and ordering materials, they were able to install a new patio cover in only a few days. Bart was extremely patient with myself and the project, and was even able to work with my HOA to get project approval. They were even able to properly re install and reseal my current doors to save me money on the project. They also easily replaced a small section of Hardie plank that the prior contractors had damaged. One last note - they had accidentally forgotten to install some patio lights on the new cover. When I called that afternoon to discuss, they were able to schedule and finish the project that same night. Impressed with the overall service from Bart and Jay. I would recommend HES for any job in the future.

I had one little issue and the owner came out and fixed it right away. They were efficient and left everything clean. They were very patient when it came to a few request I had. They were just all around professional people. I highly recommend them and will be using them to do my deck.

They removed the three large windows in the kitchen, cleaned, resealed them and it was something along the edges they had to do. The guys were even so nice and they helped me scrape off some of the wallpaper of the edges of the window coz I don’t want it under the window and I was going to take it down. They put the windows back, closed them all around the edges, and wiped everything down. It looked better when they left than when they got here. They have always done that. They were very good at cleaning after themselves. The project manager came back and inspected right after they left. He made sure that everything was good. We chose them for medical reasons. I have an immune disorder, it was getting cold in this house, and I didn’t understand why. My husband figured out that we were having cold air in the winter coming thru the windows. In a cold like that, I was in a lot of pain and it was horrible. He started making phone calls and he found this people. The guy was very personable. They were great.

The siding crew worked very efficiently, professionally fit every piece and prepped for painting. Excellent job. Windows took longer than expected for delivery and installation but we are happy with the job overall.

I contacted Home Exterior Systems for an estimate to replace the original siding & fascia board with James Hardi. Bart quickly returned my call and scheduled an appointment within the hour. He had a detailed estimate to me by the next morning. I chose Home Exterior Systems (HES) to do the work, rather than the other contractor I had contacted, primarily due to timing. HES was able to start the work as soon as I agreed to the contract. The price for the work was pretty similar between the two companies; both highly rated on Angies list. The siding crew worked fast and efficiently. They replaced the original tarpaper with energy efficient house wrap and also sealed all the windows. They were experienced, they took care of noting the location of electrical wires, cables and water lines, and they truly cared about providing a quality service as well as adhering to James Hardi installation specifications. The crew was polite and friendly and graciously answered any questions I had. They also ensured their work area was cleaned up at the end of each day. Alberto and his son did an excellent job on the painting. The end result looks great! They power washed and caulked all the seams, and they took care to ensure there was no overspray on the windows, doors, shingles or bricks. As with the siding crew, they worked very efficiently and took great pride in their work. I am completely satisfied with the services provided by Home Exterior Systems. All personnel and crews were professional and respectful and I would recommend them to others.

Everything went perfect, The crews for each area of the project where highly trained and skilled in their jobs. Home Exterior Systems was easy to work with. They did an excellent job using nothing but quality products. In sum, we had no issues and are happy with the home improvement. Without doubt or reservation, this is a good company to work with.

All new windows, siding and exterior paint. On time every day, cleaned up every evening, and finished in less than 4 days. It's been two years and all products have preformed well. I could not be happier with this purchase or the selection of Home Exteriors as a contractor.

These guys showed up every day at 8:00 am and worked until 6:30 pm. They knocked on the door and let me know they had arrived as a courtesy and let me know when they were leaving in the evening. They cleaned up every evening before they left and were considerate to use the magnet to pick up stray nails every day so my two dogs wouldn't be hurt. Their work is beautiful and it has been great to see our home get a much needed facelift. They work to your satisfaction and you get what you pay for. The painters are finishing up tomorrow and I am going to post some pictures. I recommend them highly.

Home Exterior Systems, LLC handled every concern that arose in the project to our complete satisfaction. We had several areas of water and termite damage including one active termite activity. The crew worked around our need to get the termite area treated. I was also very impressed with the crew's ability to replace damaged wood without any interior damage. Interior damage is very normal, but the crew did not rush and took extra measures to slow down to avoid damage and did a fantastic job. We had problem with the paint color in the mixing Home Exterior, corrected by getting the proper paint mix and repainted without requesting any additional payment or obligation from us. We had new gutters installed which are great. The crews, supervisors, office and salesperson were very professional, courteous, and respectful in the completing the job. We are very pleased.

They were incredible to work with. They did exactly what they said they would do. I would not hesitate to use them when the other siding starts to go. The price was great. Their response was terrific and they were out within 3 weeks which they were up front about. It was a real high quality job. We have recommended them several times since using their services. There was absolutely no mess left when they completed the work.

The crew was on-time, courteous, and professional. The job was complete and cleanup was thorough. I will definitely be requesting Eliel and his crew to do future exterior work to our home.

My home was built in 1986 and looks brand new. The workmen were efficient and cleaned up after the work well. The painters were unbelievable. Excellent.

All work was performed exactly as quoted and on time. Crews did excellent work, cleaned up everyday and respectful. They also pointed out problems during remodel and fixed things that were not in the scope of work I hired them to do, without asking for extra monies or trying to charge me more money. Would recommend them for any Home projects....they have a great company....100% satisfied. Was very Positive experience. Were Recommend to me from a Friend who had used them in 2009, they worked on my Dad's house in 2010 and did a great job for him also.

We had received an estimate a year before but were unable to have the work done at that time. Called again this year and they came out as scheduled for estimate and ended up being the lowest bid so we signed the papers. We had to wait a couple of weeks due to other jobs they were on but we were in no hurry. Everyone was very nice and professional and the 2 guys who did the work cleaned up each day before they left. It took them 2 days to get the hardi on the second story and we found the work to be quite acceptable. We then had to wait a few more days for the painters to finish the job they were on. We had only one issue during the whole job and that was in the responsiveness category. We did have reason to call the owner a couple of times but the calls were not returned or slow to be returned. Also before the painters were done my husband found out he was to go to China for work so we asked for a bid to paint the rest of the house which my husband had planned to do himself. Alex said he would tell Jay (owner) to come give the bid for the rest of the painting. We did not hear from Jay so Alex said he would remind him. We never did hear from anyone about the bid to paint the rest of the house and when Alex came to pick up the check he asked if Jay had ever given the bid. I told him no and not to worry because I would find another company to do it. I doubt we will have the occasion to use them again but I will recommend them to anyone asking. Just hope the owner will try and be more responsive to the customer.

Very quick to come with proposal Stayed in contact answered our questions they were very polite they were very efficient did their work in time prescribed they were very efficient & we are pleased.

Jay came out and measured for an estimate and gave a description of how the work would be performed. Left a detailed estimate. I scheduled the work about a week later.Alex and his crew arrived on time on the date stated. The work was performed expertly with cleanup done each day. The crew spent a lot of time doing work that would never be seen after the siding was installed to make sure the job would be done to a high standard. The crew painted after the siding was installed and reinstalled the gutters. One of the gutters was damaged while being removed, Alex had a gutter crew out to replace the damaged section the next week. All in all an excellent experience! I would recomend them to anyone!

The driveway took 4 days to complete. The old driveway was broken up and cleared from the jobsite on Day 1.The forms for the driveway, patio and walkway to front door were constructed and sand and rebar were putdown on Day 2. The new concrete was poured on Day 3. The forms were removed and final clean up of jobsite was made on Day 4. Another crew came after the driveway was completed. They removed old siding down to studs. They repaired some termite damage and replaced the sill plate and several studs that were handing by nails. In other words, they were not supporting anything.The crew pointed out several things (like the termite damage) and explained the extra steps they had to complete so that the house had the support it needs. They communicated with me and answered all of my questions and addressed any concerns I had.They started working at 8 AM each day and left when the jobsite was cleaned up (usually 6:00 PM). Several of the neighbors commented on how neat the crew made the jobsite each day. I am very pleased with work done by Home Exterior Systems and will use their services again if the need arises.

upReceived our initial estimates from Jay back in the fall of 2011 after getting quotes from several companies. Asked for estimates on this job, plus additional estimates on whole-house siding replacement and windows for future work. We called in early spring and signed our proposal on 3/9/12. The job was started on 4/10/12 (there was a rain delay involved but there also seemed to be some scheduling conflicts). An initial crew of three arrived on Tuesday and began the tearout and replacement on the fireplace. Workers seemed pretty polite and patient with my questions and I came outside to check on progress from time to time. All potted plants, patio table, chairs etc were moved out of their way and I had asked if I needed to trim a few branches off of the two tree-pruned Ligustrum's (on either side of fireplace). They told me "no" and that the shrubs wouldn't be a problem. They finished up siding replacement the 2nd day and also installed new soffits. They had actually done some additional trim work around the windows near the fireplace and replaced a couple of other Hardi pieces that needed replacing - this was a plus and I was pretty impressed at first. They were in the process of caulking seams on all the work when the painter arrived. Seeing that the painter was going to start painting before the caulking was even finished or cured, we requested that the majority of the painting be done on the next day. The painter assigned to this job only works part time apparently for HSE so could only paint after 5:30 p.m. after finishing up his painting jobs from his own company. This meant that the gutters were actually installed before the painting was completely finished, although the soffits were painted first for this reason. The care taken with the landscaping was not very good nor was the cleanup. We had an entire yard bag filled with broken branches we had to cut from the Ligustrum's, and some other plants in this bed were pretty trashed. There were nails left in the beds and in the yard, caulk strips left everywhere, insulation left laying in the beds, old vapor wrap from the fireplace left in one of the beds, and several places where the painter had missed painting. Called Jay and he had the painter come back out to paint the spots missed and Jay himself came out to look things over. He apologized for the poor cleanup and any missed painting spots and I gave him the check for payment in full. It wasn't until after he left that my husband and I noticed a rough spot on one section of soffit (it's on a 2nd story so it's not the easiest to see from ground level). My husband got up on a ladder the next morning and found that a very rough cut piece of Hardi soffit, or perhaps a cracked piece, had been used and the installers had simply filled the fairly large gap area with caulk. We called Jay again and he sent the foreman back out who confirmed that the installers had put up a badly cut piece of Hardi soffit. The foreman said he had bought extra soffit and he had told the installers to cut out any bad sections and to NOT install them...which they ended up doing anyway. I am disappointed that they didn't seem to think this was substandard. I am glad that I was home the first full day of the job so that I saw much of the work they did replacing bad frame boards in and around the fireplace itself, otherwise I might be concerned about the quality of work on the inside framing which is now covered with new Hardi siding. 4/18/12 and the foreman is back out at our house to replace this section of soffit with a new piece which will then need to be caulked and repainted. Eight days after the job began and it's not complete since they have to keep coming out to fix this or touch up that. This was not the biggest job they have ever done and we have proposals pending for jobs that will be much bigger. I told Jay that I am concerned about the amount of potential damage that might happen to our landscaping if they come back out to replace the siding on the rest of the house or replace windows, not to mention a few areas of substandard workmanship. Much of the work this company does is on older houses with mature landscaping that isn't easily repaired or replaced. I don't think that I am the pickiest client they have ever had but I do expect to pay for quality work and I do NOT want my landscaping destroyed in the process. I cannot say if I will use them again or not. Jay has been very responsive to all the issues and concerns, but it appears that the quality of work, and care taken with cleanup and landscaping, may depend on which crew is assigned to your house. The work was officially completed, including touch ups and repairs, on 4/18/12. Looks good but just wish that we didn't have to supervise the work and cleanup and care with landscaping should have been better. If we use them again, we will be very explicit on landscaping and expectations of cleanup. Will also schedule some time to be home for at least some aspects of future work.

Home Exterior Systems did a wonderful job replacing the siding on one side of my house. They came out promptly and gave me a clearly-written estimate. Their crew was able to start the work a day ahead of schedule, and arrived on time. They were very professional, finished the job in less than 2 days and cleaned up the job site perfectly. They even left me their left-over paint so I can match it exactly. I highly recommend Home exterior Systems.

All in all, the project went quickly and without any issues. Jay came to the house and gave a very detailed estimate showing the options to choose from. He also spent time explaining the process and expectations. We decided to install the Hardy plank color plus vs. the Hardy panel or the base color and paint. It turned out to be a very close match to our current color and more economical. It did take several attempts and follow up calls to set the install date after deciding to use them. That was a negative. Once scheduled, Jose and his crew arrived on time and began the prep work for when the siding arrived. Although I asked to save as much of the old cedar plank siding as possible, I didn't end up with much left. I assume this was mostly because it was older and more fragile than I expected rather than because they weren't careful during removal. Once the crew got started, everything went smoothly and quickly. i did have to remind them about the insulation, which they needed to remove the moisture barrier and redo after, but everything else went fine. They were very patient with me as I repeatedly went to check on the progress and take pictures and each time they explained what step they were at and what was still to come.

Started off a little rough. Nails too short for good attachment of fascia to rafters and fascia was being installed to side of roof plywood instead of underneath. Had contractor remove about 20 ft of fascia and start over. From that point on, no complaints whatsoever. Contractor suggested and implemented many improvements, many with little or no additional cost. Very professional supervision and also polite. Absolutely one of the best Angies List contractors I have ever used

Primarily I chose them because of their BBB rating. They were not the lowest bid I received, but they were the most willing to make concessions for the requests I wanted done on my house. Their installation stood out to me most. They are just a very professional company to work with, more importantly they are easy. Their price was higher, but overall the quality was great.

They did a good job. It was installed in one day and they came when they were supposed to. They installed it in one day and they did a little extra work to make it look good. I was happy.
