After we purchased our home, we had some work done by an AV person who was referred to us by the previous owners. That company made several mistakes and caused a lot of things to now work properly. Our camera system, monitoring alarm systems, and our televisions sometimes did not work. I was referred to Brian Ashworth by the HAI area rep out of Austin. He is excellent when it comes to home automation and internet. What I like about him is that he is honest. He was able to tell me things about my HAI system that I didn’t know about. Instead of trying to up-sale me on another product, he educated me on the system. He fixed everything so that all of our systems were working properly again. He is really good on home automation. He is also going to add some more home automation to our existing system as well.

Brian came out for an initial consultation for some simple home automation and a/v options. Went round the house, described what I was hoping to get done. He promised a quote and some options. Never heard another thing from him. He had my email address and contact number and there was no follow up.

Everything went great with them. They were very quick and direct to the point. They came and made an inspection of my existing alarm system and told my why it was probably going off at certain times when it should not. I will call them again and recommend them. They came right on time.

High Tek Customs arrived on time to review the scope of the work. Told me it was a custom job and they would charge by the hour. I agreed to the price to reroute the wires and then showed him the TV & Bose system that the Xfinity installer could not get the sound from the Bose System. Within about 5 minutes, he reviewed the situation removed some excess wires and the TV had sound. Asked him what he wanted to charge me and he said "no charge". We set a date for next Saturday morning. When the Technician called but we were still out of the home dropping a car off at the repair shop. He left a note and a voice mail on our land line. Called him back and he told us he would return in a few minutes. He came back and within 2 hours the job was complete and the wires were well disguised along the base board. Hooked up the TV and left all in working order. Made sure they cleaned up all of the saw dust and wire droppings. I recently hooked up the media wires and all is now in working order. These guys know their stuff and I would highly recommend them for any Security or Media installations.

I found High Tek Customs by referral from another highly rated Angie's List provider, who said they were the best at networking issues. Robert Shin and two technicians came out and were very professional and helpful. They went through my cable and wireless system and were dogged in identifying the source of the problem, which turned out to be a hardware defect in one of the components rather than in the MoCA connections or cable system itself. They improved my cable and wireless system performance by reconfiguring some connections, and did not charge for the extra time they spent ferreting out the problem (and did not laugh at me for not figuring out for myself that the problem was a defective TiVo Mini box). While this was ultimately a very small job, I would certainly use them again for any home networking issues or home theater project.
